“Broken Embraces” New York Screening

On Penelope Cruz’ last red carpet outing she was head-to-toe in black.

This time she lightens up wearing an ivory Calvin Klein Pre-Fall 2009 look consisting of a full-length coat and 3/4 length sleeved velvet dress.

The colour is gorgeous against her olive skin and I love her glossy tumbling wavy locks.

I love it when Pen’s on top form, and this is one of those enjoyable occasions.

Printemps Christmas Window Display Launch, France

Natalia Vodianova can do pretty dresses, we all know that.

Here she proves she can look stunning wearing a navy blue Givenchy Fall 2009 suit.

The cut is exquisite and I love that she didn’t over accessorize this look.

‘Nine’ Screening, New York

I like Fergie’s Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2009 ensemble, and I don’t even mind the tights.

I just wish she’d loosen up that severe hairstyle, as it throws me off loving the look.

The Whaleman Foundation Benefit, LA

Sporting new bangs Hayden Panettiere looked stunning wearing an eggshell Tadashi Shoji Spring 2010 dress with an asymmetrical twisted neckline and a twisted detail on the skirt.

This colour shows off her year-round California tan.

I loved her gold trimmed accessories which included a Bally Agrippa-E clutch and Yves Saint Laurent Tribute suede sandals, which complimented her gold cuff.

“Star Trek” DVD/Blu-Ray Release Party, LA

After not being in love with Zoe Saldana last red carpet looks, she totally redeems herself wearing a Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2010 black and nude dress.

I’m loving those subtle animal print heels and that sheer draping neckline.

“Late Show With David Letterman”, New York

Nicole Kidman has been getting first dibs on all the L’Wren Scott Spring 2010 pieces, but Penelope got to pick this stunning black dress.

It’s simple, chic, shows of her stunning figure, plus I love the leather detailing on the shoulders.

I’m not sure why, but I’m currently obsessed with her glossy hair.

The Hollywood Reporter Honors Eva Longoria Parker With Philanthropist Of The Year Award, LA

Kate Beckinsale wears her second Andrew GN look this week.

Many of you said you find her red carpet style stale, boring, predictable and samey, but there’s not mermaid hem on this black long sleeved Andrew GN Spring 2010 dress.

Don’t you just love that silver beaded embellishment at waist which make the dress more interesting?

Grey YSL Tribute suede pumps and a black clutch complete the look.

I’m getting seriously worried that the current trend to apply a lot of white eyeshadow is catching on.

It’s very subtle on Eva Longoria, unlike Taraji P. Henson.

Eva was honoured at this event, walked the red carpet wearing a sexy red asymmetrical ruched Badgley Mischka Fall 2009 dress.

Unfortunately the hair and make-up puts me off loving this look.

Leona Lewis’ Album Celebration, LA

Oh Ciara. From the long shot and especially in the close up, all I can focus on are your goodies when I should be loving those delightful ruffled shoulders.

Sheer dress + no bra + flash blubs = exposure.

Celebrity red carpet dressing 101.

As much as I’m loving this new improved attitude from Leona Lewis, I’m not loving her obsession with those corseted belts.

It has worked on a few pieces, but on a Herve Leger bandage dress is just makes no sense at all.

Just don’t get me started on the ankle boots.

November 6th, 2009

Seeing Leona Lewis in a slinky black outfit on the red carpet earned her a huge thumbs up and here she continues to show off rather than shy away.

Leona looks hot in a custom-made Vivienne Westwood gown posing with the kind of confidence a bespoke piece like this requires.

The layers of tulle and PVC bodice are very dramatic. This was made to turn heads.

She could be Cat Woman in disguise in this dress.

Sometimes it’s best to keep things short and simple and for Katy Perry this cute pink tube Bodyamr dress is a sugary sweet choice.

A twinkling sequined panel on the candyfloss colour is charming. The black shoes are less of a complement though, they are bulky and out of sync with this outfit.

This is one of Katy’s better looks of the EMAs.

Joss Stone appears to be having a good fashion day in this Grecian-style asymmetric dress.

By adding platform heels Joss is sexing it up a bit, though she could have added a bit of sparkle or cheeky metallic somewhere for added glamour.

This loose dress is subtle but the white stands out with success. Shame about her hair though. Too tough for such a soft piece.

Joint Best Dressed Award
This Atelier Versace Fall 2009 strapless gown was made for a body like Beyonce Knowles’.

The colour is absolutely divine on her, the sheen of the dress really pops, the bodice has an strong warrior feel to it which would’ve been the desired look for the independent woman.

I love how this gown skims her hip, and I’m pleasantly surprised at the lack of bling.

I would’ve preferred her hair pulled back, but now I’m just looking for flaws in an otherwise flawless red carpet look for B.

Joint Best Dressed Award
Trying to pick who was Best Dressed out of Beyonce and Katy Perry, was like a mother being asked to pick her favourite child.

How do you choose?

Both are wearing my favourite designers, plus they are both wearing my favourite looks from the respective collections, and both have bodies to die for.

Normally Katy wows us in a different way in eccentric Manish Arora pieces, but this time she wows us by looking so graceful in a nude one shoulder Marchesa Spring 2010 draped tulle strapless gown with embroidered black floral.

A very pleasant surprise indeed.

If there’s any room, both are up for BDOTW.

Most Sexy Award
Whilst stars like Katy Perry and Beyonce were wearing stunning - should’ve been saved for the Oscars - gowns, Shakira opted for shimmering silver ultra mini dress which left very little to the imagination.

I wonder if this dress was custom-made by Donatella Versace because the Sharika is wearing Versace Spring 2010 heels with her look.

De Ja Vu Award
Asia Argento wears an asymmetrical Sophia Kokosalaki Fall 2009 black and gold beaded dress which will give you a strong sense of de ja vu.

This is because she wore a very similar dress on the Italian version of X Factor last week.

I must preferred the previous look. This doesn’t feel as well put together.

Surprisingly Not Predictable Award
When I learned that Leona Lewis was attending this show I assumed she would wear something quite boring, but I was wrong.

Normally we see calf-length dresses, tights and no personality.

Not only is she giving us plenty of personality, but she’s also looking very sexy in her corseted look which includes black sequin harem pants and black vest Vivienne Westwood ensemble.

I can’t believe I just said harem pants are sexy, but Leona makes them work.

Normally I would complain about the two-tone hair, but it all adds to the fierce attitude of this look.

Her coral lips are divine.  I wish I could get away with that shade.

On Trend Award
Normally I find it hard to say anything nice about Joss Stone, but I really like her look.

It’s young, fun, on trend with the Over-The-Knee boots, plus I love how her super glossy hair is swept to one side.

Most Disappointed Award
Normally Pixie Lott is a lot more creative on the red carpet.

She normally brings colour and vibrancy, to this occasion her D&G black ruffled dress is nice but I know she can deliver more.

Not More Ankle Boots On The Red Carpet Award
Miranda Cosgrove was the teen star of the night working Alexander McQueen ankle boot with a black and blue harlequin dress.

Worst Dressed Award
“Hey girl, don’t you think my outfit is fly?”

No.  We don’t Lil Kim.

Two words spring to mind. Hot Mess.

You’ll be surprised to know that this is it.

I can’t believe that such a big ceremony pull in so few stars.

October 15th, 2009

It’s not often that we see Leona Lewis in London, but when she’s back we welcome her with open arms.

Yesterday the British singing sensation arrived at Waterstone’s book store in London to sign copies of her book title “Dreams”.

She looked very smart wearing a black Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2009 dress with a key-hole neckline and puffy short-sleeves.

The dress was paired with L.A.M.B multi button shoes, whilst her honey coloured hair was swept back into a loose ponytail with a few pieces framing her face.

Unfortunately the event ended badly when a crazy fan punched her in the face.

I hope she is doing well.

For the love of god, can someone PLEASE, Please, please help this girl.

Even if you take her to Topshop, just so she can see what girls her age wear.

What the fudge is she wearing?

The runway version of her Dsquared² Fall 2009 was not hiked up to the thigh displaying fish-net tights.

There is no need for all the modifications.

When Selena Gomez is getting it so right, Miley gets it so very wrong.

Another red carpet event, and another missed opportunity for Whitney Port to promote her own Spring 2010 collection.

This time the designer opts for a La Perla Spring 2009 black chiffon dress with nude underlay and jeweled shoulder detail. *shudders*

What was she thinking?

Hopefully not that this is a good look, because she would be wrong.

Finally a Kelly Clarkson look I really love.

The singer wore a stunning black velvet one shoulder David Meister gown with feather corsage.

Everything works.

It looks like Whitney Port can’t even get her BFF to wear her Spring 2010 collection, which is not fair as Whitney wore Lauren Conrad Collection several times.

Lauren Conrad wore a green sequined Alice + Olivia dress paired with black satin peep-toes.

I do like this look, surprisingly it’s not boring.

Jennifer Hudson proudly shows off her post-baby figure wearing a figure hugging metallic dress with thigh-high boots.

Love Leona Lewis’ lilac off-the-shoulder Halston gown, but I absolutely hate the black Vivienne Westwood corset.

So unnecessary and makes this a waste of a stunning gown.

Jordin Sparks’ dress lack any.

Sparks that is.

Sheryl Crow opted for a red satin Dolce & Gabbana dress with black tulle overlay with a black waistband.

We normally see more colour or a rocker look from Sheryl, so this is a refreshing change.

“Goin’ to the chapel and we’re gonna get married”.

Toni Braxton’s white gown is too bridal for my tastes.

TV personality Kim Zolciak gets herself notice wearing a Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 dress as worn by Madonna.

UK singer Adele wore a black Barbara Tfank dress which had gold ribbon embroidery.

July 16th, 2009

It’s been a while since we last saw Rachel Bilson on the red carpet, and I’m sure you have missed her like I have.

The actress opted for a 3 piece 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2010 look consisting of a gold liquid lamé blazer and matching harem shorts with a black pleated sleeveless top.

I was loving this look including her Longchamp clutch until I panned down to the white pumps.

Leona Lewis opted to cover up her curves by wearing a gorgeous flowing 3.1 Phillip Lim Pre-Fall 2009 maxi dress with a tiered asymmetrical skirt and floating sleeves.

Again she impresses me with how stunning she looks.

Her look was complete with black studded strappy sandals.

Eve looked hot wearing a 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2010 sheath dress with all-over metallic gold embroidery detail.

Her gold bangles plus her black clutch with a gold trim complemented her dress.

I was surprised that Shenae Grimes was at this event, but that just goes to show that she’s moving up in the world of celebrity fashionista’s.

Hopefully this will be the start of better choices on the red carpet.

She wore one of my favourite pieces from the 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2010 collection.

I’m not sure if it’s a dress or a cropped polka dotted top with a nude skirt draping from the hips, but she looks amazing wearing it.

Nude peep-toe pumps and swept back hair completed this look.

Is it me, or is Molly Sims looking younger these days?

The model/actress looked stunning keeping her look simple wearing an off-white diamond cut 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2009 dress with a gold embellished neckline.

Her look was completed with a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Deva’ shoe boots.

Kristen Bell’s dress has a lot going on with the shimmering graphite leather striped mini ra-ra skirt, plus navy sleeveless asymmetrical draped trompe-l’oeil top with the twisted detail.

It’s a lot to take in all at once, but Kristen just manages to pull it off.

We have seen this style of dress on Michelle Williams a few weeks ago.  At the time I thought it was a Resort 2010 preview, but it now looks to be a Spring 2010 preview.

Maggie Q wore a similar style to Kristin with her single sleeve asymmetrical draped trompe-l’oeil dress, but her mustard version was way sexier.

This dress would’ve worked better for me if it weren’t for the cream silk panel.

Jewel broke all the rules by arriving at the Lim event wearing a black and cream strapless Etro mini.

I’ll excuse the flats as she’s recovering from a foot injury.

Lynn Collins just gets worst and worst for me.

When she first stepped onto the red carpet a few months ago I thought we found a new red carpet golden girl, but her fascination with top hats is just becoming ridiculous.

I hope she has a word with herself or her stylist very soon.

July 15th, 2009

Amanda Bynes does what she does best. Gives us something we’ve seen or feel we’ve seen before.

With her Pencey little black strapless dress, that same hairstyle, the black clutch and the black pumps, it’s like ground-hog day every time she steps onto the red carpet.

I’m dying for her to shake up her style. The last time she wore a different silhouette or anything past her knees was at the SAG Awards back in January 2008.

Amber Heard looked red hot and current wearing an Alexander Wang ensemble. This look consisted of a white caged top with a black fitted caged skirt.

Her look was completed with a pair of Chloé bow embellished sandals and a large waist belt.

Amber hair has now become bleach blonde from the lighter blonde locks she sported a few weeks ago. Although this colour gives her an edge, I prefer her as a brunette.  I’m sure her eyebrows would agree.

Kristen Bell always delivers something fresh. She’s not one to follow others and hop on the latest trends. Her look is always consistently fabulous and effortless.

I’m most impressed with her cute fuschia pink 3.1 Phillip Lim dress with a oversized collar which she accessorizes with a multi-coloured Topshop clutch and sparkling Jimmy Choo heels.

Ashley Greene opted for an off-the-shoulder blue BCBG Max Azria dress with a burst of floral prints.

This is the first time I have seen Ashley’s hair styled in a loose updo.

I’m loving the confident stance of Leona Lewis in this picture. It’s been a long time coming.

The Brit singer looked stunning in a blue plunging neck long-sleeved Elie Saab Fall 2008 dress, with dove grey heels and NO TIGHTS. This is a first.

Her figure is amazing. So delightfully curvaceous.
