Lena Dunham In ASOS – The View

Lena Dunham In ASOS - The View

Lena Dunham made a guest appearance on ‘The View’ to promote her book ‘Not That Kind of Girl’ yesterday morning (October 1).

I can already feel your disapproval of this summery ASOS short-sleeved aqua-blue and white frock with its pretty pleated mini skirt.

While some might question the fit, her pose and most definitely her hair, I am on shoe patrol.

Those black Miu Mius are so wrong for this dress.

Are the shoes the least of your worries about this look?

Lena Dunham In Marni – Jimmy Kimmel Live

Lena Dunham In Marni - Jimmy Kimmel Live

Lena Dunham was spotted making her way to a studio in LA on Monday (September 8) for a guest appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’.

The actress, who’s still rocking a platinum-blonde ‘do, wore a black Marni Fall 2014 long-sleeved dress.

Even those of you who have struggled to like anything that Lena has worn in the past must be pleasantly surprised by how well-dressed she looks here.

Styled with a rhinestone-embellished belt adding a captivating sparkle to this look, I love how modern it feels, finished off with ankle boots and a patterned bag.

Lena Dunham In Michael Kors – Bergdorf Goodman And Michael Kors Celebration of Betty Halbreich’s New Memoir

Lena Dunham In Michael Kors - Bergdorf Goodman And Michael Kors Celebration of Betty Halbreich's New Memoir

Lena Dunham was back on the red carpet attending the Bergdorf Goodman And Michael Kors Celebration of Betty Halbreich’s New Memoir, ‘I’ll Drink To That: A Life in Style with a Twist’, on Thursday (4 September) in New York City following a short trip to Venice with Miu Miu.

The ‘Girls’ actress selected a Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2014 look featuring a white trapeze dress accented with a black bow paired with a gingham blazer with a hemline which met the dress.

Aside from the platform shoes, I see that this look has potential but as usual the pose kinda ruins it, throwing off the proportions making her head appear tiny and her feet look humungous.

Get The Look: Lena Dunham’s Emmy Awards Pink Metallic Manicure

Get The Look Lena Dunham’s Emmy Awards Pink Metallic Manicure

Lena Dunham isn’t one to play it safe when it comes to red carpet style and the 2014 Emmy Awards was no exception. The vibrant ‘Girls’ star stepped out in a daring Giambattista Valli Couture gown and equally statement making manicure.

While her whimsical tulle layered dress featured a gradient of pink hues, nail superstar, Deborah Lippmann dressed Lena’s nails in a metallic magenta that perfectly set off her full look.

Here’s how you can recreate this luxe chrome manicure yourself:

Prep: Deborah prepped Lena’s nails using her signature 5-step manicure technique: cleanse, shape, exfoliate and hydrate (hands/nails). Starting with Deborah Lippmann The Stripper, she removed any polish and impurities from Lena’s nails and proceeded to shape them using Deborah Lippmann Smooth Operator, a 4-way multi nail buffer.

Once nails were clean, Deborah used her Cuticle Remover and hydrated the nails and surrounding skin with Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Oil. She finished by generously coating Lena’s hands in Deborah Lippmann Rich Girl SPF 2 Hand Cream and massaging it into the skin.

Foundation: To insure a clean and even base on the nails, Deborah applied a layer of her Ridge Filler Base Coat to nails. Not only does this fill in any bumps, ridges and inconsistencies in the nail bed, but this vital product acts as a concealer on the nail.

Colour: Once dry, she applied two even coats of 12th Street Rag, a metallic magenta luxe chrome nail colour. This ultra-rich shade is a new polish from her Fall 2014 collection, New York Marquee.

Finish: To further enhance Lena’s metallic manicure, Deborah followed with a coat of her Gel Lab Top Coat, leaving her nails dressed in a high gloss finish.

‘Miu Miu Women’s Tales #7 – #8′ Venice Film Festival Premiere

'Miu Miu Women's Tales #7 - #8' - Premiere - 71st Venice Film Festival

A collection of six starlets were at the ‘Miu Miu Women’s Tales #7-#8’ premiere, held during the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Thursday (August 28). Naturally, all were representing the label, donning a range of Miu Miu looks that couldn’t have each been more different if they tried.

Dakota Fanning: The trendsetting starlet wore a Miu Miu creamy white satin sheath dress with beaded embellishment, paired with nude platform Miu Miu pumps and a bejeweled grass-green Miu Miu clutch. I would have loved to see the same punch of colour in her shoe, along with an updo.

Kirsten Dunst: The actress went for a retro spin in an A-line Miu Miu dress featuring a funky blue and white swirl print. She accessorized with pops of silver via her clutch and sandals, not to mention the flash of those side-swept platinum locks.

Kate Mara: Donning the same nude platforms as Dakota, Kate wore hers with a nude Miu Miu dress with allover paillettes and a sparkling, decorative neckline. The design was pretty and carried with it a vintage flair, but the colour washed out her complexion, especially with her neutral makeup.

Felicity Jones: Her embellished, midnight-blue Miu Miu dress with sheer sleeves had the fall season written all over it. Black pointy pumps did nothing to lighten the look, but the actress did take a more summery, breezy approach to her barely-there makeup.

Lena Dunham: Once again opting for a head-scratcher of a look, the ‘Girls’ star didn’t exactly stand out for the right reasons in her sombre, daresay frumpy, patterned frock. The Prada dress and the flat, block-heel sandals aged her far beyond my liking—as did her beehive ’do.

Nicoletta Romanoff: The only one to really embrace what’s left of summer, Nicoletta was the most polished of the bunch in her flirty and youthful white ruffle blouse and lemon-yellow skirt by Miu Miu, paired with breezy waves and sun-kissed makeup. If I were to nitpick, I would have selected a colourful, fun sandal not this chunkier brown pair.
