Marni Fragrance LaunchA trendy list turned out to support the first Marni fragrance at an exclusive party on Tuesday, presented by Consuelo Castiglioni, at Marni Edition in New York City. British TV presenter and model Alexa Chung even had a DJ set in store for all those Marni mavens, who dressed for the occasion with bold and brave exits from the designer that ranged in style from cool-girl (and cool-boy) to sassy schoolgirl.

Alexa Chung: Along with her party playlist, Alexa delivered a prepster, winter-casual look with her top-to-toe Marni ensemble. She wore a toggle coat over a green printed shirt and high-waisted skinny jeans along with a blocky pair of metallic, Pilgrim-like loafers. It shouldn’t all work, but somehow she rocks it in her own way.

Christina Ricci: The actress didn’t get the casual memo like Alexa, instead donning a flirty Marni outfit with her girly green skirt and embellished blouse. She paired it with a beige zipper bag and plain black sandals that looked, well, a bit cold.

Leigh Lezark and Geordon Nicol: The two DJs from The Misshapes hit some interesting fashion chords. Sporting a new blonde do, Leigh’s candy-apple-red Chanel Spring 2013 overcoat and white shirt dress got an extra shot of quirk with those knee socks and red flats. Geordon played her cool companion, mixing things up with his blue and green micro-prints, matched with a black beanie and patent black shoes.

Versace opened a new boutique in Soho, New York, yesterday evening and Donatella Versace invited along her favourite celebs and supermodels to celebrate the occasion.

Jennifer Hudson: The singer was my favourite at this event. She wore a chic black flared leather skirt with cross details from the Versace Fall 2012 collection paired with a black turtleneck with Swarovski crystals. What I love most about this look is the orange coat with chainmail inserts and that gorgeous smile. A simple side-parted bun and black knee-high Versace boots from the Fall 2012 collection completed her look.

Alexa Chung: I never had Alexa down as a Versace girl, so I’m not surprised that she opted for the more youthful and edgier Versus collection. I love burgundy, so I’m mildly obsessed with her burgundy knit turtleneck top paired with a matching leather mini skirt from the Versus Fall 2012 collection. You’ll be surprised to learn I have no complaints about this look. No, not even her hair.

Princess Charlene of Monaco: The modern princess opted for a sexy, simple, yet chic look donning a Versace cashmere coat with leather inserts, paired with over-the-knee leather Versace gold toe-cap boots. The only pop of colour came via her red lips. Read more…

H&M hosted a party in New York City to celebrate their Maison Martin Margiela collaboration on Tuesday evening.

Mena Suvari: Despite not being a fan of Mena’s trompe l’oeil bodysuit, she’s totally working this look, as per. She styled the look with a navy ‘Hitched Up’ skirt, tan wedges with a Perspex heel and a giant silver metallic candy wrapper clutch (a must-have from this collection). She was my favourite at this event.

Leigh Lezark: I’m not surprised that the DJ picked the most colourful and difficult-to-wear piece from the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection. She’s never one to fade into the background. The look includes a colourful printed-scarves top and skirt. She opted for the wedges in black.

Selma Blair: The actress wore the black version of the ‘Horizontally Worn’ dress with black wedges. I love how she styled the look with the china bumps and red lip colour, but I prefer the blue version of this dress which appears in the lookbook.

Julianne Moore: A simple black Maison Martin Margiela for H&M suit with peaked shoulders look super chic on Julianne.

Sarah Jessica Parker: The actress looked like an Olsen twin engulfed with so many layers and an oversized blazer.

Helena Christensen: The supermodel makes this £179.99 leather ‘Car Seat Cover’ dress look even more expensive. She styled her look with all black accessories.

Here are the rest of the Michael Kors Golden Heart Gala attendees.

Karolina Kurkova: The supermodel’s Fall 2012 all-black look, save for her metallic copper ankle-strap pumps, featured a wool vest over a black crystal Chantilly lace long-sleeve cascade dress accented with a leather belt.

Erin Heatherton: The ‘Victoria’s Secret’ model wore a crimson Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2012 dress with black double ankle-strap pumps completing her laidback look with a simple ponytail.

Leigh Lezark: The DJ kept things simple wearing a black Fall 2012 leather dress with jersey sleeves. The look was styled with a Chanel bag with hooves for footwear courtesy of YSL.

Here are six more looks from the celebration of Chanel Fine Jewelry’s 80th anniversary of the ‘Bijoux De Diamants’ collection, created by Gabrielle Chanel, in New York City yesterday evening.

January Jones: After knocking it out of the fashion ballpark at the Emmys, I’m deeply disappointed by January on this occasion. Between the ghostly makeup, low bandeau and the off-white maxi skirt, the best way to sum up this Chanel Fall 2008 Couture look would be “a hot mess”.

Leigh Lezark: It was left to the DJ and FROWer to bring some glamour to proceedings. Leigh looked stunning wearing a black net Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 gown with PVC embroidery which was styled with a matching bolero with a high neckline. A Perspex clutch, a simple updo and barely there makeup save for kohl-rimmed eyes completed her look.

Giovanna Battaglia: The editor gives me a dilemma. Do I look at the shoes or her Chanel Resort 2013 dress first? Because both are screaming for my attention.
