Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I wondered who would be the first celebrity to be spotted shopping in Topshop New York, and that person was Lauren Conrad.

After arriving in the Big Apple, her first stop was at the Soho store on Thursday.

The reality star must have had a great time, as she left with a very large bag of goodies.

Her look was casually fine – as always – looking cute in a rolled sleeved black blazer, cashmere scarf, leggings, tall boots, and a lust-worthy caramel Chanel purse.

Just to seal her star status, she wore a pair of Chloé Myrte sunglasses.

The sunglasses have gunmetal inlays which stylishly contrast with the glossy resin of the round sunglasses, fashioned with gradient lenses for a modern look.

You can buy them from Net-A-Porter’s US site for $290, or the international site for £196/€270.

Opening Ceremony Of The 33rd HKIFF Gala Premiere, Hong Kong

Hong Kong actress, and ambassador of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Karen Mok, arrived at the premiere of Shinjuku Incident, looking adorable in her Roberto Cavalli floral gazare strapless mini dress.

The dress has raised fabric panels on the hips, with a skirt of tiered ruffles at the back.

She wore the dress with gold heels, and nude fishnet tights.

These Cavalli dresses become more appealing with each wearer.

The U.S. Fund For UNICEF’s TAP Project for The Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, LA

Nicole Richie is a pro at boho-chic dressing.

The mum-to-be channeled her usual 70s chic in a tie-dye blood red and blue silk maxi dress.

The dress does all the talking, as she kept her accessories to a minimum.

Rachel Zoe’s floor-sweeping yellow and grey ikat Jenni Kayne Spring 2008 gown is very much on the tribal trend.

The celebrity stylist works uptown boho, with wavy blonde locks and multiple gold bracelets for that I just ‘threw this together’ look.

Lauren Conrad opted for silk nude slouchy top with cute black shorts.

Her look was pulled together with Christian Louboutin peep-toes, a black clutch and a two necklaces.

Lauren is all smiles considering her Lauren Conrad Collection has been put on hold citing the “economic climate”. I guess us shoppers don’t want to purchase a $225 tank dress, which even Lauren won’t wear.

An Evening With Neil LaBute And Friends, New York

Kerry Washington wore a Celine silk blouse with an attached beaded necklace. I love her cute tangerine and white scorpion print Sariah skirt, which sits high on her waist.

She completed her look with black pumps.

Conde Nast Traveler 2009 Awards, Madrid

Aitana Sanchez Gijon wore a black strapless Oscar de la Renta Embroidered taffeta dress, which was presented in the Resort 2009 collection.

The beautiful actress completed her look with black and diamante embellished peep-toes.

Martina Klein certainly came to dazzle in her electric blue mini dress, which was embellished with silver sequins.

The model wore grey peep-toes, with complimented her grey Louis Vuitton clutch, and her art deco diamond bracelet.

Actress Clara Lago wore an alphabet black fringed flapper-style dress, with black pumps.

I love this one-shoulder striped dress, model Maria Leon is wearing. Her fuchsia pink accessories compliment her dress well.

TV personality Paula Vazquez wore a LBD, with a peek-a-boo bodice. Her look was livened up with a neon yellow clutch, and stunning gold jewelery.

Lauren Conrad celebrated her 23rd birthday recently with her BFFs Lo Bosworth, and her new boyfriend, actor Kyle Howard.

The crew partied at the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.

The birthday girl was wearing a green-and-black sheer tunic, embellished with sequins from the Proenza Schouler Resort 2009 collection as a dress.

You may remember Maggie Gyllenhaal also wore this tunic, when she attended the CFDA Awards last June, but she wore hers with silk pants.

Nothing is more eye-catching than a sequined sparkling dress. Camilla Belle arrived at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Los Angeles Store Opening back in June wearing a 3.1 Phillip Lim multi-coloured sequin dress.

When this dress was presented during Phillip Lim’s Resort 2009 collection, the model wore it with a green belt. Camilla opted for a tan belt, and navy blue Miu Miu heels.

Reality TV star Lauren Conrad wore the same dress, sans belt, when she attended the season 4 finale of The Hills at Tavern on the Green last month in New York City.

Although I preferred Lauren’s bronzed heels, I feel very strongly that this dress works better with a belt, so Camilla wins this for me.

You can see if this dress works better for you with or without a belt, as you can purchase it from Net-A-Porter US site for $925, or the international site for £661/€879.

Does anyone know what Whitney Port’s official job title is at Diane von Furstenberg? Because I am starting to believe that she is there to show off Diane’s stunning designs on the red carpet. I want that job please.

The Hills/The City star wore a gorgeous eggplant maxi dress from Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring 2009 collection, which had pleats and a layered skirt

Whitney’s flower child look was complete with a cute hair accessory of silk flowers and feathers, as many of the models wore in Diane’s Spring 2009 show.

Best look of the night, so therefore Best Dressed Of The Week.

Just when I thought I was going to end the year with a compliment for Lauren Conrad, she gets it nearly right. This 3.1 Phillip Lim multicolored sequin dress needs a belt, the runway version proves that.

I will give her some credit for her hairstyle, as it’s different for a nice change.

She completes her look with gold heels.

Audrina Patridge is wearing a gorgeous wine coloured strapless Alexander McQueen Fall 2007 gown, which has been worn by Jessica Alba and Mary J Blige in green.

The colour is absolutely divine on her. Whitney just pipped her to the post for best look of the night.

Holly Montag has a lot to learn. The anchorwoman hair has got to go.

The Gucci Spring 2004 dress, itself is OK until you get to the sleeves, which I question why they are even there, because they ruin this dress on her, yet it works on the runway.

Nice ruby shoes though.

Do not adjust your screens, surprisingly this is the same dress.

I despise this woman, so I am glad I don’t have to say anything nice about her looking hideous in this Alexander Wang Resort 2009 dress.

Stephanie Pratt in an attempt to out do the others, tried too hard and is the worst out of the bunch.

The colour is so wrong for her, the hemline is all kinds of confusing and keyhole detail makes this dress look even more tacky.

If I was Mr Wang, I would be pi**ed.

Here is the worst of the rest.

It looks like Heidi Montag got an early Christmas present. Her boobs have definitely gone up another cup size or 3.

Heidi walked the carpet with her now husband, wearing a black shimmering fringed dress.

Lauren Bosworth wrapped up warm against the cold weather, but did briefly reveal her ensemble of a sparkly top and satin yellow high-waisted skirt from Forever 21 would you believe.

Best Group Award
Finally the Pussycat Dolls get it oh so right.

I love the soft neutral colours of both the dresses and make-up. Such a refreshing change from the S&M gear they usually wear.

Melody Thornton kind of upsets the balance for me in her 3 piece suit, but the other 4 are perfection.

Best Comeback/Most Improved Extensions Award
I knew she could do it. Britney Spears made a massive comeback last night collecting 3 awards for a blah song and a so so video, but what impressed me most is that she more than pulled her sh*t together.

Her extensions look like they weren’t purchased from Jessica Simpson’s HairDo line.

The shorten Atelier Versace Fall 2008 silver beaded dress was gorgeous, and reminded me of Britney of old.

Welcome back Brit Brit.

Best Glow Award
Ashlee Simpson is rumoured to be carrying twins, which apparently is the new thing in celebrity childbirth.

The red head took to the red carpet in a black draped empire-lined Alexander McQueen Fall 2008 gown, with a stunning train.

The dress has a mixture of Gothic chic and feminine elegance that looks so right on Mrs Wentz.

Best Mini Award
Ashlee Tisdale provided the little sparkly dress wearing a Roberto Cavalli strapless mini which was covered in white paillettes.

Nice Dress, Shame About The Hair Award
Pink’s red and navy stripped Alexis Lamontagna Fall 2008 gown strapless gown, was stunning. I really fell in love with it.

I think the dress suited Pink, but I just did not like her hair.

Best Legs Award
Ciara showed off plenty of leg in her metallic Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she wore with Louboutin shoes, Jimmy Choo starred patent clutch.

Best Ass Award
Hurley brand ambassador and face of the line’s new fall campaign, Bar Refaeli attended the show wearing a grey cotton tank dress custom-made for the model by Hurley. The dress did well to show off her best asset.

Bar kept her look on trend for fall by adding piles of statement jewels by Badgley Mischka.

Best Strapless Award
Nothing makes you feel young, cute and girly like a Bestey Johnson dress. And that is exactly how Jordin Sparks looked.

You Did Not Suck Award
Lauren Conrad is not my favourite person, but give credit were credit is due, she did look gorgeous in this white dress by Pogah Couture. I especially love the skirt of this dress.

She completed her look with silver Sergio Rossi heels, and a silver Kara Ross clutch.

Most Fashion Forward Award
Rihanna wore a black bustier with a Peter Pilotto Fall 2008 print shield skirt in vibrant green/yellow.

The skirt is the show stopper, as it is has a very futuristic feel to it.

She completes her edgy look, with a pair of white platformed t-bar heels.

Cute Shoes/Clutch/Nails Combo
The dress Victoria Justice is adorable, but how cute is she to have matched her shoes, clutch and nail colour? So cute.

Golden Girl Award
Audrina Patridge gold and peachy dress was suited to her golden tan. She wore her dress with a gold vintage clutch by Daniel Swarovski.

Best Theme Award
Katy Perry channeled Wonder Wonder. So cute.

Best Rock Chick Award
I love rock chicks in dainty dresses. Hayley Williams of Paramore wore a green Topshop vintage inspired dress, with a cute bow tie, torn tight and rubber platforms.
