Laura Whitmore In Emanuel Ungaro – Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Laura Whitmore In Emanuel Ungaro - Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Laura Whitmore attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards held at Berkeley Square Gardens on Tuesday (June 3) in London, England.

The Irish TV presenter wore an Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2014 black and turquoise dress which has many elements, including one sleeve longer than the other, ruffles, zipper accents, an outer pocket placed on the skirt, stripes, and polka dots.

It’s a sexy, fun piece with plenty of flair, especially when styled with the runway ruffled strappy sandals, so I’m baffled as to why Laura turned up at this event with just-got-out-the-shower hair.

What a way to let down a look.

Laura Whitmore In Mark Fast & – NME Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In Mark Fast & - NME Awards 2014Laura Whitmore attended the annual NME Awards at the Bixton Academy in London, England on Wednesday (February 26).

The TV presenter has failed to impress at her last two recent outings: the Brit Awards and the Elle Style Awards. This time, she traded the high-sheen metallics for a knit look from the Mark Fast Spring 2014 collection.

The tight and short bodycon dress in a green zigzag pattern scores better on the style scale, perhaps simply for its lack of shiny material. That said, the frock could have done without the choker-style halter neckline.

Black booties finished the look on a rather heavy note.

However, let’s all be glad that she left the teased bedhead hair on the runway, instead opting for a somewhat more polished half-up, half-down ’do.

Laura Whitmore In Hasan Hejazi – Brit Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In Hasan Hejazi - Brit Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore took to the red carpet this evening (February 19) for the Brit Awards 2014 held at the O2 Arena in London.

After looking so-so at the Elle Style Awards, she graduated to looking terrible tonight wearing a Hasan Hejazi Fall 2014 dress.

Her red-and-black metallic leather mini dress may have been improved without the sheer sleeves; but I feel like I’m just clutching at straws.

This is awful.

Laura Whitmore In Warehouse – Elle Style Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In Warehouse - Elle Style Awards 2014

Joining Rita Ora and Suki Waterhouse, Laura Whitmore attended the 2014 Elle Style Awards in London’s One Embankment.

Bringing a touch of the high street to the glamorous red carpet, Laura chose a white sheer shirt tucked into a metallic purple mini skirt by sponsor of the evening Warehouse.

While I think the skirt is great and taps into the sports luxe and surfer girl trends of the season, I can’t help but think this would be more suited to a launch event rather than an awards ceremony.

I think it’s highly commendable that Laura has opted for high street rather than designer but this just feels a little too casual, especially when compared to the other looks on the red carpet.

For me, the crisp white works well against the metallic skirt but the shoes really let the look down. I really think Laura should have chosen a pair of patent pumps to tie in with the modern, futuristic edge of the look. Do you agree?

Laura Whitmore In LA Mania – National Television Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In LA Mania - National Television Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore made quite an appearance on the red carpet of the 2014 National Television Awards at London’s O2 on Wednesday (January 22).

Not one to shy away from trying new looks, this monochrome LA Mania dress from the Spring 2014 collection is no exception.

With a midriff-baring front cut-out panel, dramatic stepped hem and really unnecessary grid-like panel lining, this was one of the most striking dresses of the evening, but for all the wrong reasons.

Fortunately Laura did claw back some sartorial points by opting for a pair of simple black Kurt Geiger pumps and a white clutch which blended in with the stand-out dress.  A chic, loose up-do and a flash of red lippy pulled the look together and some Stephen Webster jewels were the finishing touch.

I’m always keen to see stars try out new and experimental looks but is it just me or is this just too much? Laura can get it so right normally so I’m sure this just a minor blip…

Who Wore The Kooples Better… Joanne Froggatt or Laura Whitmore?

Who Wore The Kooples Better Joanne Froggatt or Laura Whitmore

Last month Joanne Froggatt attended the British Independent Film Awards 2013 wearing a black strapless jumpsuit from The Kooples.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star, who usually opts for more colourful looks, styled her jumpsuit with a black Louis Vuitton clutch and simple black pumps.

Irish TV presenter Laura Whitmore wore the same jumpsuit last week, opting to go a bit further with her accessories, adding a white blazer, a Kate Spade New York clutch and a Jennifer Behr gold-spiked headband.

While I appreciated Laura’s styling efforts, less was more in this case so Joanne wins for me.
