An Evening Honoring Louis Vuitton and Nicolas Ghesquière

‘An Evening Honoring’… an annual fundraising event for the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund, paid tribute to Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière with ‘The Women’s Leadership Award’ on Thursday (November 30) in New York City.

The award was presented by Jennifer Connelly, to celebrate his many years of excellence in the fashion industry.

As you’d expect, the same list of ladies, and gents, who’ve shown their support for recent LV events were in attendance, plus Nicole Kidman.

Ruth Negga: Of the winged trio here, Ruth is the most successful at pulling off this Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 look. Dreamy in parts with a sheer and leather overlay giving the look an edge, there really is nothing she can’t pull off.

Michelle Williams: The actress perhaps went with the most safest interpretation of this Spring 2018 look, and I have a feeling many will consider this a tad washed out and too one note. I think that she looks really pretty, and to be honest, I’m glad she played it safe. Complicated LV styles overwhelm her in my opinion.

Jennifer Connelly: While I will tip my hat and have huge admiration for Jennifer for going with probably the trickiest look in the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 collection, my feeling is she has bitten off a little more than she could chew here. There’s way too much going on, and it doesn’t feel as cohesive as the other two ladies.

Laura Harrier In Sies Marjan – 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

Laura Harrier and Leon Bridges attended the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 6) in the Brooklyn, New York as the guest of Ahlem Eyewear.

Laura Harrier: Donning geek chic Ahlem Eyewear, the ‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming’ actress channelled a dreamy romance in Sies Marjan. This Spring 2018 floaty dress paired with the sporty wedges is a perfect example of why we love her effortless style, and why she’s quickly became a fashion darling.

Leon Bridges: The gospel singer who looked very dapper in his navy Tom Ford suit. I love how his Ahlem shades and suede loafers give this look some ‘Rat Pack’ charm.

‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton’ Exhibition

Fashionistas in the Louis Vuitton family stepped out to attended the ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez ‘ exhibition opening on Thursday (October 26) in New York City, with the ladies all wearing Spring 2018 outfits.

Alicia Vikander: Making her first appearance since marrying Michael Fassbender, the newlywed continued to prove why she and Louis Vuitton are a smashing combination. Many will be focused on her ring, but I enjoyed the way the embroidered coat dressed up the skinny trousers. The double handles on the bag could have come off as contrived, but they don’t.

Pom Klementieff: Also displaying a compelling mix, the actress gave us long and short proportions with animal print, stripes and varying textures. Some might find it a tad too much, but the cute eye bag helped merge the competing black and brown pieces.

Zendaya Coleman:
This marked the actress’s first Louis Vuitton event. Recently, she has had a number of triumphant red carpet hits so I was intrigued to see what she would bring to the brand. The interplay of fabrics and textures is interesting and I like how she brought a sophisticated elegance to the shorter hemline.

Laura Harrier In Calvin Klein by Appointment – Bvlgari Flagship Store Reopening

Laura Harrier was also at the Bvlgari Flagship Store reopening on Friday (October 20) in New York City, joining Ciara and Ruby Rose.

She had me gearing back up for spring with the delightfully verdant, floral motif of her cropped Calvin Klein by Appointment separates.

I like how the simple lines of the two pieces let the leafy blooms be fully celebrated.

Forest-green pumps and a bright-pink purse completed the look—although I would say she could have gotten away with a subtler handbag, as the print was bold enough.

Hammer Museum Gala In The Garden

The Hammer Museum Gala in the Garden was hosted on Saturday (October 14) in LA, with a crush of beauties in attendance—and all outfitted in one of the night’s leading supporters, Bottega Veneta.

Emmy Rossum: Looking nearly impossibly elegant, Emmy stunned in a Fall 2017 gown that beautifully shimmered with its gunmetal metallic plisse design. I love how her red lip and refined waves imbued another element of classic allure to the striking look.

Priyanka Chopra: I liked the softer palette of this Bottega Veneta Spring 2018 ensemble, but the creamy-white pumps let the look down.

Sarah Jessica Parker: This Resort 2018 gown was a rather subdued look for the likes of SJP.

Front Row @ Louis Vuitton Spring 2018

Many of the same stars who were at the opening of the Louis Vuitton boutique were seated front row at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 show the next day on Tuesday (October 3) during Paris Fashion Week. So, you will be excused if you’re already experiencing a certain kind of déjà vu.

Here, the lineup of the LV looks—take two—from the brand’s biggest fans.

Cate Blanchett: I had a slightly easier time embracing this directional look from Cate, as opposed to her more disjointed offering the day before. Perhaps some elements still seemed a bit forced, but no one can say this wasn’t a mullet-esque look—warrior-chic on the top, and business on the bottom.

Julianne Moore: Stepping away from the colour black, the actress was radiant in this rich, jade-green dress that had its own party happening at the back with the long fringe detail.

Alicia Vikander: Yet again, Alicia’s effortlessly chic look took top billing. In this case, it was her accessories—the handbag and booties, in particular—that really elevated this all-black ensemble.
