Laura Carmichael In Roksanda – Downton Abbey: The Exhibition

The ‘Downtown Abbey: The Exhibition’ event took place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre on Tuesday (June 21) in Singapore, with of the lead actresses Laura Carmichael in attendance.

It’s no secret that I’m not the biggest fan of Laura’s style, but the contrast of the matte and patent horizontal panels of her Roksanda Spring 2017 dress keeps me interested.

The silhouette was typically simple as were the accessories and hair, so I was thankful for addtion of red lipstick to attempt to lift the look.

Royal Academy Summer Exhibition Preview Party

Wednesday (June 7) played host to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition preview party, a highlight of London’s social calendar which attracted a plethora of style savvy stars.  I was delighted that many summery frock were on display, despite the not-so summer weather.

Zawe Ashton: There was something very 1920s about Zawe’s Roksanda ‘Hillevi’ dress in glorious bubblegum pink satin. Sleek finishing touches were added with a Roksanda ‘Besa’ bag and Roksanda ‘Dana’ shoes.

Florence Welch: Sticking to her signature bohemian style, the singer kept things colourful with a Gucci Fall 2017 ensemble. Black and pink floral prints made way for a ruby red Gucci clutch and cream Gucci boots, both emblazoned with the designer’s definitive animal symbolism.

Katherine Jenkins: The singer chose a monochrome Nedo by Nedret Taciroğlu piece for the occasion. While I liked the lace detailing, the belt seemed ill-fitting to the look.

Laura Carmichael In Erdem – Three Empire Awards

Laura Carmichael was also at the Three Empire awards on Sunday (March 19) in London alongside Ella Purnell and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Perhaps inspired by the flirty appeal of this girly, bubblegum-pink hue, she wore an Erdem Pre-Fall 2017 embroidered dress.

Generally, a peplum-style silhouette is meant to be flattering, but here the extra fabric at the waist and hip fell a bit awkwardly.

I would also say her dark sandals somewhat weighed down the dress, however, the opposite was true for her beauty look which was a fresh, natural finish.

Laura Carmichael In Christopher Kane – 2017 SAG Awards

Laura Carmichael attended the 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29) wearing one of her favourite designers – Christopher Kane.

Her Pre-Fall 2015 black dress, punctuated with intricate floral prints in striking jewel-tones, by Laura’s standards is quite elaborate.

Some might say her style is boring, but I think she presents a supremely elegant impression here, with soft waves and a Kotur clutch completing the look.

Laura Carmichael In Erdem – Variety’s Celebratory Brunch

Laura Carmichael attended Variety’s Celebratory Brunch on Saturday (January 28) in West Hollywood, California.

Sometimes geometric patterning creates optical illusions that flatter the figure. But, with this Erdem Resort 2017 dress, the visual math just wasn’t adding up.

Reminiscent of seersucker, the frock’s textural fabric and flounce skirt had a shortening effect on the actress—even without the Victorian neck piece seen in the designer’s original presentation.

Not even Loeffler Randall ‘Arbella’ ankle-strap platform sandals could elongate the look.
