Laura Carmichael In Erdem – ‘Madame Bovary’ London Film Festival Screening

Laura Carmichael In Erdem - 'Madame Bovary' London Film Festival Screening

Laura Carmichael attended the London Film Festival screening of ‘Madame Bovary’ held at the Odeon West End on Saturday (October 11) in London, England.

The actress wore an Erdem Resort 2015 white organza creation rendered with striking black floral embroidery for an elegant evening option with plenty of ladylike appeal.

Giving the look a contemporary spin, Laura styled her look with mesh and PVC pumps with metallic toecaps.

The overall look would’ve been perfect had her wavy tresses been worn back in an elegant chignon.

Laura Carmichael In Markus Lupfer – ‘Downton Abbey’ Season 5 Charity Preview Screening

Laura Carmichael In Markus Lupfer - 'Downton Abbey' Season 5 Charity Preview Screening

Laura Carmichael attended the charity preview screening of ‘Downton Abbey’ Season 5 held at Empire Leicester Square on Wednesday (September 17) in London, England.

The actress wore a Markus Lupfer Resort 2015 frock featuring a bold waist cut-out sliced into this feminine blue and green graphic-print flared dress.

This look feels so unlike Laura, but I love that she opted for something with a dose of daring chic for a change.

What would Lady Crawley say?

Styled with black sandals to complement the black straps, she completed her look with dark-berry nails and wavy tresses.

Too much skin on display, or does Laura rock this look?

Laura Carmichael joined her ‘Downton Abbey’ co-stars Michelle Dockery and Joanne Froggatt for the Los Angeles photocall held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (July 22) in Beverly Hills, California.

Wearing a vivid red floral-embroidered sleeveless Erdem Pre-Fall 2014 dress with a solid black back panel, the actress interestingly styled the look with Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pumps, when perhaps black would’ve been the most obvious choice.

Wavy tresses, kohl-rimmed eyes and a complementary glossy lip colour rounded out her look.

Harpers-bazaar-august-downton-abbey-subs-cover_500_675_90

There are two covers for the August 2014 edition of Harper’s Bazaar UK: one featuring Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery and Lily James, and one of just Michelle on her own.

All the ladies are wearing looks from Valentino’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection, with Michelle’s the most familiar as we’ve already seen this beauty on Cate Blanchett.

With ‘Downton Abbey’ returning for Season 6 in the fall on ITV, Harper’s Bazaar caught up with the ladies.

Michelle Dockery on how she’s ‘grown with the role': ‘Lady Mary always seemed sure of herself, but “it was a brashness that came from insecurity, whereas now it’s different, she’s very confident in her own skin, and I guess [that's] the parallel, really, with my own life; I feel like I’ve reached a point now where I’m much more content and confident”.’

Laura Carmichael on when a French journalist who asked her why the show is such a hit; what’s the secret to its triumph: ‘Instead of answering, I turned the tables and asked him what he thought. “Because it is full of women”, he said, and I was like, “God, you’re so right!”‘

Lily James on the daily education on acting and being an actor on set: ‘I’m learning a lot about how to be one of the “good” actors. You’d hope that it’s natural to be a good person, and kind, but I’m learning how to deal with long, sometimes boring days.’

To see the full photo shoot, which includes the rest of the female cast, in the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar, pick up a copy when the mag hits newsstands tomorrow, 4 July.

Laura Carmichael In Christopher Kane – The Duke Street Emporium Store Launch

Laura Carmichael In Christopher Kane - The Duke Street Emporium Store Launch

Laura Carmichael attended the opening of the new concept store ‘The Duke Street Emporium’ on Wednesday (April 30) in London, England.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress wore her favourite designer, Christopher Kane, selecting a cropped black cashmere ‘Flower’ sweater featuring a lilac lace logo worn with a futuristic jacquard plasma-print skirt cut to a flattering A-line silhouette with glossy petal-shaped PVC pocket detailing.

Her look was pulled together with a quilted-sleeve leather biker jacket and platform sandals.

While Laura doesn’t instantly strike me as a Christopher Kane girl, she always manages to pull off the Scottish designer’s edgy pieces.

Laura Carmichael In Gucci - The Glamour Of Italian Fashion 1945-2014 VIP Private View

Laura Carmichael joined Mollie King on the red carpet for the VIP private viewing of ‘The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014′ held at the Victoria & Albert Museum on Wednesday (April 2) in London, England.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star showed off a little skin, wearing a Gucci black jersey dress from the Fall 2013 collection featuring a high neckline with a racy tonal mesh panel showcasing her cleavage.

Laura doesn’t often do sexy; in fact, this might just be the first time, but she pulls off the risqué look with great aplomb.

Sexy or TMI?

Laura Carmichael In Erdem – 2014 BAFTAs

Laura Carmichael In Erdem - 2014 BAFTAsLaura Carmichael was also at the 2014 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 16) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

Eschewing a long gown in favour of a shorter cocktail dress, the ‘Downton Abbey’ star wore an Erdem Pre-Fall 2014 strapless, forest-green frock.

Featuring the label’s signature florals, this greenery was of the darker, moodier variety, although the specks of sparkling embellishment brought a lighter note to the design.

That embellishment was really all there was to be found here, as she skipped any sign of statement jewels, completing the look with Gianvito Rossi black-and-metallic strap sandals and casual, half-up, half-down hair.

Simple and chic, or were you left wanting more from this look?

Laura Carmichael In Vionnet – 2014 SAG Awards

Laura Carmichael In Vionnet - 2014 SAG Awards

Laura Carmichael also took to the red carpet at the 2014 SAG Awards, held on Saturday evening (January 18) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress opted for an asymmetrical, draped design from Vionnet’s Spring 2014 collection.

On this occasion, I’m glad she veered from the more progressive runway version of this glittery, soft metallic-gold dress, skipping the distracting white shirt worn underneath.

She further glamorized the gown with a slate-grey Lauren Merkin ‘Lucca’ oval box clutch, Jerome C. Rousseau black strappy sandals and sparkling Rona Pfeiffer statement jewels, including a sizable wrist cuff, cocktail ring and long bauble pendant earrings.

A spit-slick updo and neutral makeup completed the look.

Laura Carmichael In Viktor & Rolf – 2014 Golden Globes Awards

Laura Carmichael In Viktor & Rolf - 2014 Golden Globes Awards

‘Downton Abbey’ star Laura Carmichael attended the 2014 Golden Globes Awards, held at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in Beverley Hills, California on Sunday (Janaury 12).

The British actress wore a custom sleek white Viktor & Rolf column dress with sweetheart neckline and black side-panel detailing styled with a sparkling clutch and Jerome C. Rousseau shoes.

Having heavily supporting British designers on the red carpet it was a welcome change to see Laura in a Parisian powerhouse label.

The white gown was also surprising choice considering Laura’s pale complexion, but it worked. Simple and understated yet elegant and chic, what’s not to like?

But what I do I find ever so slightly disappointing about this look is the hair.
