2012 Women Of Style Awards

The 2012 Women Of Style Awards hosted by InStyle Australia was held at the Carriage Works earlier today in Sydney, Australia.

Miranda Kerr: The ‘Readers’ Choice’ winner stole everyone’s thunder by looking sensational wearing a Carla Zampatti gown. The pale-blue gown cut low at the back and front was styled with gold sandals and spectacular gold jewels. A red pout and simple ponytail completed her look. The day Miranda or Rosie look bad is the day the world is coming to an end.

Kate Ritchie: The former ‘Home and Away’ actress stunned once again wearing a Steven Khalil dress. The designer took a simple strapless dress and turned it on its head by adding dramatic pleats on the bodice, a half peplum and a gold metal waistband. A gold clutch and nude pumps completed her look. The only downside is her foundation which is too light for her complexion.

Lara Bingle: Sporting the same 50s French roll hairstyle Charlize Theron wore to her premiere last night, Lara wore a Romance Was Born printed polka-dot dress. Whilst Lara has great fashion connections, she never really takes ownership of what she’s wearing. She’s like a mannequin.

Erika Heynatz: The TV presenter/model wore a Ferragamo Spring 2012 colour-block red-and-raspberry look which consisted of a plunging blouse with a wrap skirt. I’m not crazy about the bow-front peep-toes, but I do love her complementary woven Ferragamo clutch. The look would’ve been perfect for me had she worn Solange Knowles two-tone Ferragamo sandals.

Lara Bingle In Josh Goot – 2012 Prix De Marie Claire Beauty Awards

Last month, Lara Bingle attended the 2012 Prix De Marie Claire Beauty Awards at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia.

For those who don’t know Lara, think of her as Australia’s version of Olivia Palermo in the sense that no one really knows what she does except sit front row at fashion shows.

On this occasion she wore a Josh Goot Fall 2012 ensemble.

Showcasing her midriff, she teamed a quilted leather floral embroidered top with a black wrap skirt which sits low on the hips.

The black slouchy boots give the look an edge, but I don’t think Lara quite has enough attitude to pull this look off.

Rihanna would’ve looked amazing in this.

Lara Bingle In Louis Vuitton – Louis Vuitton Maison Australia After Party

Following the ribbon cutting opening of the Louis Vuitton boutique in Sydney, Australia by Cate Blanchett came the after-party, which was attended by the country’s finest starlets.

No red carpet event passes by down under without Lara Bingle in attendance.

She donned a look from the LV Fall 2011 collection.

I don’t feel she quite has the personality to pull this off.

Whilst she made the right choice to tuck in her top to make the look feel less ‘back to school’, this leaves the skirt more room to overwhelm her.

The only thing that is going in her favour is her Alexander Wang Anais metallic silver loafer pumps.

One day, I hope to see Lara sport a beauty regime that doesn’t consist of barely there makeup and a bun.

Live a little girl.

Lara Bingle In Josh Goot – WHO ‘Sexiest People’ Party

Lara Bingle walked the red carpet for the WHO ‘Sexiest People’ Party in Sydney, Australia over the weekend.

The Australian model wore a Josh Goot Spring 2012 dress.

This abstract print dress is absolutely beautiful on Lara, but just seems completely out of place at a party for the ‘Sexiest People.’

Fussy sandals do not help, only shortening Lara’s legs.

This look would be more appropriate for a refined daytime event.

The simple A-line cut might be right up the alley for the next front-row appearance by Anna Wintour.

Leighton Meester Starts A Menswear Red Carpet Trend

On Monday night Leighton Meester wore a Thom Browne suit on the red carpet to the 2010 Gotham Independent Film Awards.

By Tuesday night many other celebrities had followed suit….see what I did there.

Stylish celebrities including Jessica Alba, Lara Bingle and Winona Ryder were all spotted on the red carpet wearing menswear instead of pretty dress.

The looks ranged from shirtless in Dolce & Gabbana for Jessica, who paired her look with sexy studded Christian Louboutin Pigalle studded pumps and an ivory Christian Louboutin Loulou clutch.

Lara opted to wear a white shirt and black velvet ribbon neck-tie with her peg-legged suit.

Gothic Winona kept her look black on black on black on black.

Her satin lapel Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci suit was paired with a satin clutch and silver pendant necklace.

They all look smart, but the only one who nails this look is Jessica.

Leighton can’t take total credit for this look as Marlene Dietrich and Diane Keaton popularized androgynous-chic a long time ago.

2010 ARIA Awards

Australian musical talent was celebrated at the 2010 ARIA Awards in Sydney today, with a packed red carpet of Aussie beauties celebrating Australian designers.

Ruby Rose was the exception as she opted to wear a Miu Miu Fall 2010 dress.

This dress has been seen in nearly every editorial in every magazine all over the world, so I’m surprised that Ruby wore a dress most of us are tired of seeing.

I’m not a fan of tattoos, but I kinda like the rough and the smooth contrast of the rock-chick tattoos with a cute ultra feminine dress.

Lara Bingle worked a sleek modern chic look wearing a navy dress by Australian designer Josh Goot.

Her dress is beautiful but she loses many points for the grey suede pumps.

Jessica Mauboy grabbed the attention from the others on the red carpet wearing a Toni Maticevski structured pink dress.

The R&B singer teamed her flamboyant dress with Sergio Rossi nude heels.

Megan Washington received many nominations at this event, and she ensured she looked pretty to collect awards wearing a red lace dress by Australian designer Alex Perry.

I’m not crazy about the cream pumps, but her jewel encrusted clutch catches my eye.

Kelsey Martinovich – Australia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 runner up – surely wanted to be noticed wearing a Paule Ka bustier dress which a sheer panel across the midriff.

I like her dress and her bravery for wearing such a bold look, but gloves make this look very costumey.

The “2010 ARIA Awards” will air on MTV Classic on Monday 8 November at 9pm.

Lara Bingle Front Row At RAFW Spring Summer 2010/11

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week has started and the one everyone is watching in the front row is Lara Bingle.

The model started the week at the Ginger & Smart Spring 2010 show.

She looked stunning wearing a gorgeous peachy Ellery jacket paired with a simple grey mini dress and Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

I love how her jacket brightens up the simple dress.

Lara wore my favourite Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 blue satin dress to both the Harper’s BAZAAR & BlackBerry’s White Bold Party and Jayson Brunsdon Spring 2010 show.

Again she wears her Nicholas Kirkwood heels plus the same military belt the dress was presented with.

With her hair off her face, we get to see those knotted shoulders.

At the Dion Lee Spring 2010 show we see Lara mixing an edgy Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 skirt with a black blazer by Ellery, a white shirt and leather Givenchy booties which I’m drooling over.

What do you think of Lara’s front row style?

Who Wore Prada Better? Lara Bingle or Lee Na Young

Model Lara Bingle wore this Prada Resort 2010 candy coloured dress with a draped back detail whilst promoting Aussie energy drink ‘Synergy’.

Lara loves Prada and it appears that Prada loves her, because she looks really fresh and youthful in this dress with her blonde beach hair worn down around her shoulders.

I would’ve liked to have seen her wear a different shoe to the grey suede Louboutin’s.

Actress Lee Na Young wore the same dress to the VIP screening of “Happy Change” earlier this year.

I like this on her but I not crazy about it on her.

When I see the nude heels Lee wore, I appreciated why Lara opted for a contrasting colour.

I think the nude top half of this dress washes Lee out a bit, so Lara wins for me.

Runway To Allan Border Medal – Lara Bingle In Michelle Jank

This fashion week I’ve been introduced to many Australian designers like Michael Angel, Kit Willow and now I can add Michelle Jank to that list thanks to Lara Bingle.

The Cricket WAG arrived at the “Allan Border Medal” ceremony in Melbourne with fiancé Michael Clarke.

As usual she looked A-Friggin-Mazing wearing a very simple, but incredibly sexy white Michelle Jank Spring 2010 gown with padded shoulders.

The gown draped deliciously off her toned tanned figure.

Instead of wearing jewels, Lara opted for temporary Chanel tattoos of draping necklaces and multiple bracelets which we saw presented in the Spring 2010 collection.
