2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala Red Carpet Roundup

At the 2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala on Saturday (March 17) in LA, Beyonce may have been Queen B with her undulating golden goddess gown. But, there were still plenty of fashion-minded femmes making waves there—and adopting the ‘Black Panther’ theme via their Wakanda-inspired looks.

Tina Knowles: Like mother, like daughter. Bey’s mom and Wearable Art Gala co-founder also went down a golden-bronze path—granted, a more subdued one—in this Jean-Louis Sabaji Spring 2018 Couture satin creation that was bedecked in a feathered cape for dramatic effect.

2017 Glamour Women Of The Year Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many modes of so-called glamour were represented at the 2017 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 13) in Brooklyn, New York. Here’s a look at some of the other femmes in attendance.

Sailor Brinkley: Simple seduction was precisely what this ZAC Zac Posen Resort 2018 sequin slip gown was all about—with Sailor’s romantic ringlets to follow form.

Yolanda Hadid: For Yolanda, an LBD meant a long black dress in this Akris gown that smartly hinted at seduction in the keyhole detail and side slit.

Sofia Coppola: Fresh and snappy, this Michael Kors Collection Resort 2018 floral frock brought a boldly printed twist to Sofia’s comfortable, no-nonsense style.

2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The stylish ladies were out in full force at the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 6) in Brooklyn, New York.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese model charmed in a J Mendel Resort 2018 mini. The short shape and blush colour were enlivened with feathered appliqués. The dusty neutral tones and simple styling allowed the texture to be appreciated without the bird connotations.

Karlie Kloss:
Striking a shimmering statement, the model donned a Christian Dior frock. The long sleeves and ankle-length hemline had a prim feel, but the geometric pattern and shimmering details added much allure.

Lauren Santo Domingo: Also in a feathered confection, the Moda Operandi cofounder was clad in Calvin Klein Fall 2017. Similar to Sara, the textured look had a sophisticated finish thanks to the blush-toned feathers but hers were accented with red and yellow. Given the lightness of the dress, I would have preferred a softer shoe without the black details. You may remember that Julianne Moore wore this same dress to the Met Gala.

Angel Ball 2017

The Angel Ball 2017, which fundraises for the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for cancer research, happened on Monday (October 23) in New York City bringing out numerous celebrities dressed to the nines.

La La Anthony: The multi-hyphenate wore a Rani Zakhem Spring 2017 Couture gown with gold embellishment that gave the black base a night sky effect. The earrings enhanced the glistening fabric, but I would have preferred it without the belt.

Karolina Kurkova:
The model oozed sophistication in a black column gown. It might not have spoken as loudly as other ensembles, but the Chopard jewels and a joyful yellow clutch helped make it a memorable look.

Maria Menounos:
Recalling disco heydays the journalist and host dazzled in a Maria Lucia Hohan gown. Not bothered with boobs or legs, the dress had a down-to-there neckline and thigh-high slit. Maria’s soft makeup and topknot helped put a modern spin on the rose gold pleated gown.

3rd Annual Diamond Ball Benefiting The Clara Lionel Foundation Red Carpet Roundup

Glamour was the name of the game at the 3rd Annual Diamond Ball Benefiting The Clara Lionel Foundation. Stars sported their most sumptuous gown at the event on Thursday (September 14), joining Cardi B., Beyonce and host Rihanna.

Emily Ratajkowski: The model left me feeling underwhelmed with her vintage Chanel gown from Shrimpton Couture. There was plenty of cleavage and the slightly off-center buttons down the corset were unique, but they didn’t make a lasting impression.

Imaan Hammam: Proving that simplicity can be captivating was Imaan in Brandon Maxwell. The gown’s colour and cut took center stage, combined with the Dutch model’s incredible curls.

La La Anthony: Going for pure drama, La La lit up the grey carpet in Yousef Aljasmi. With so much shimmer and fringing, she was wise to tone down her beauty look, but I would have preferred all her hair swept up into the bun.
