Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kristen Stewart In Osman - 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards

The last time we saw Kristen Stewart on the red carpet, she was hobbling on crutches wearing an ill-advised and ill-fitted dress which washed her out, but she was back to her best for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards held at USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles, California yesterday evening.

Giving London-based designer Osman Yousefzada his second look on the red carpet within a week, Kristen wore a chequered top and shorts from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

There were no surprises when it came to the styling as Kristen wore black patent Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Plato’ pumps and her favourite Karen London ring.

We have often complained about her messy tresses in the past, however, on this occasion her dreadlock-like fishtail ponytail was purposely messy to go with the edgy look.

The violet eyeshadow drew out her hazel eyes with a matte pink lip colour providing the finishing touches.

Kristen Stewart was added to the 2013 Oscars roster as a presenter for tonight’s show hosted at Hollywood & Highland Center’s Dolby Theatre in California.

She showed up towards the end of the red carpet festivities rocking quite the accessory, crutches, due to an unexplained injury. Crutches aside, the edgy starlet channeled a significantly softer side in a Reem Acra Couture design.

The creamy creation was an angelic gown with its flurries of tulle that peeked out from the intricate embroidery and embellishment of the dress.

While this was elegant enough, the dress appeared ill-fitting and it translated as too mature for this tomboy actress. As well, the colour nearly matched Kristen’s alabaster complexion. Unfortunately, the overall effect was more aging and washed-out than winning.

A different makeup look could have helped change that effect. Her smouldering, desert-hued smokey eye was pretty, but a bolder lip would have been nice. And her tousled waves seemed a bit too casual for the Oscars.

I didn’t like the Fred Leighton diamond link necklace here, as it was an unnecessary afterthought for this particular gown.

But, all in all, Kristen has to commended for conquering the red carpet even with an injured limp. She apparently even wore Jimmy Choo heels, not even resorting to Converse sneakers on this occasion.

Kristen Stewart for V Magazine Spring 2013

Kristen Stewart was captured by Inez & Vinoodh wearing a white Victoria Beckham vest on the cover of V Magazine’s Spring 2013 issue – with her black bra peeking out, of course.

The rest of her typically grungy editorial sees her wearing Balenciaga, more Victoria Beckham, and Calvin Klein, with wet-look hair throughout.

‘Twilight’ may be over, but Kristen isn’t planning on slowing down any time soon. She spoke to the magazine about her latest movie, ‘On The Road’, her theatrical efforts and career plans.

On her new attitude: “I have realized that you can close yourself off to life if you put walls up, but it’s a difficult thing. So I’ve gotten quite comfortable with just being unafraid. I keep saying the same thing: it’s not about being fearless but really just embracing the fears and using them.”

On her new film, ‘On The Road’: “I would have done anything, I would have played any part… Marylou is remarkable because she’s got a tough core. When you’re a teenager, a year can be crippling to maneuver through. You’re just out there questioning things, and so to be completely okay with that and not think that there’s anything wrong with you, that’s something I’ve recently understood. I’m 22. Marylou started this whole thing when she was 15.”

On her ‘On the Road’ character, Marylou: “Until you really get to know the woman behind the character, it’s difficult to connect the dots. I’m a contemporary, sensitive, normal girl, and it’s difficult to try and empathize with someone who seems to have a lack of empathy. She seems a bit callous in the book.”

On her future: “I am not closed off to anything right now. That is what I was saying about not having any more walls up. I don’t want to deprive myself of any bit of life.”

On her responsibility as an actress: “It’s a pretty f**king odd thing to want to pretend to be another person and then have a lot of other people who watch you do that. You have this experience of reading something, and if you don’t bring it to life, you’re basically deleting it. The responsibility is amazing.”

Kristen Stewart continued to promote her latest movie, ‘On The Road’, by attending the New York premiere held at the SVA Theater yesterday evening.

The actress has been wearing a lot of sheer dresses lately, but on this occasion she did what I thought was impossible – make an Erdem dress look cheap.

Seriously, what was her stylist thinking? With the skirt being sheer, why did they feel the need to cut it so short?

I can’t even applaud the neon Christian Louboutin pumps (which are two sizes too big) because I’m horrified by what they have done to this dress.

If this dress was on loan I hope she gets to keep it, because if I was the designers I wouldn’t want it back.

Kristen Stewart attended Vanity Fair’s screening of ‘On The Road’, held at the Skywalker Ranch in San Francisco, California on Friday.

She pumped up the glam factor in a sleek BCBG jacket, skinny H&M leather pants and oxblood-hued (befitting Kristen’s vampire fame) Christian Louboutin pumps.

In recent years, Kristen has built a reputation of taking a devil-may-care attitude to dressing for the red carpet (remember those Converse sneakers?).

But this refined ensemble proves that she is consciously stepping into the limelight in a big way.

Even though the look is on the casual side, Kristen ties her red pumps in with a bold red lip, and the subtle shine of the pants add a dash of sexy playfulness.

Plus – we love that Kristen is opting for brands like H&M that her core fan-base can totally relate to.

Jumping right back on the promo tour wagon post-Twilight, Kristen Stewart took to the red carpet at the Landmark Theater in LA on Thursday evening for the ‘On The Road’ screening.

The actress looked happy and comfortable wearing a Jason Wu Spring 2013 ensemble which showcases her love for lace.

Her tomboy look with a sexy flare featured a sleeveless combo blouse – with leather and a patchwork construction of dotted floral lace and grosgrain trims – paired with black high-waisted shorts, which also featured floral lace inserts.

Kristen’s Barbara Bui black suede-and-leather lace-up oxfords are not to my personal liking, but the actress, who’s known to hate heels, makes them work for this look.

Keeping the styling simple, she wore her favourite Cartier and Iwona Ludyga bracelets.

Sweeping up her brunette locks into a simple updo, she completed her look with eye-accentuating makeup.

Kristen Stewart attended the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Awards in LA on Saturday evening looking surprisingly polished.

You were very disappointed by her last look, but on this occasion she wore a sophisticated Talbot Runhof Spring 2012 black-and-white dress with a lace bodice

This more mature silhouette by the German-based label, perhaps signals greater changes ahead for the 22-year-old ingénue.

Tousled waves, smoky eyes and a pink lip colour completed her look.

Do you like this much improved look?
