Jurors Protest At The ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Kirsten Stewart, Lea Seydoux, Khadja Nin, Ava DuVernay and Cate Blanchett walked the red carpet in protest of the lack of female filmmakers honored throughout the history of the festival at the screening of ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ this evening (May 12) during Cannes Film Festival.

Only 82 films in competition in the official selection have been directed by women since the inception of the Cannes Film Festival whereas 1,645 films in the past 71 years have been directed by men.

Kristen Stewart: The actress wore classic Chanel suit, styled with rebel Roberi & Fraud retro-inspired shades.

Lea Seydoux: Her custom Louis Vuitton gown from the Fall 2018 collection is stunning. I love how it defines her gorgeous figure, and how the ruffled detailing gives the look an interesting dimension.

Khadja Nin: This navy gown was given plenty of African flare with her signature head scarf and sash combo.

Ava DuVernay: I had hoped to see more of Ava at Cannes, but her third outing didn’t disappoint Alberta Ferretti.

Cate Blanchett: The Australian actress wore her second Armani Prive look of the festival. The sensual fabrication was only enhanced by the asymmetrical cut, sculptural hip detail and figure forming fit. Chopard jewels completed her look.

Vanity Fair France x Chanel

It was a sea of short hemlines at the Vanity Fair France x Chanel dinner during the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday evening (May 9) in France.

Kristen Stewart: The Cannes jury member and Chanel brand ambassador brought her own carefree, edgy mood to this textured Pre-Fall 2017 mini. With its bow detail, it would have likely carried a prim sentiment but her styling gives it insouciant cool.

Penelope Cruz: She lightened things up with floaty tiers of pale blue with a Chanel Spring 2018 dress. Alluring glamour is usually her M.O. so this sweet statement was a change of pace, but she carried off. The champagne accessories added to the ethereal ensemble, but I find myself wishing for a sandal.

Chloe Sevigny: Offering a vampy mood, she showcased plenty of leg in the inky Chanel Spring 2018 frock. The multicolored tufts decorating the sleeves and hem carried a bewitching charm rather than unabashed sensuality that is often showcased with LBDs. Like Penelope, her well-considered styling allowed for a strong, singular statement.

Kristen Stewart In Chanel – ‘Everybody Knows’ Cannes Film Festival Screening

After attending the jury photocall, Kristen Stewart was back on the red carpet this evening (May 8) for the ‘Everybody Knows’ Cannes Film Festival screening in France.

Those who missed the actress at the Met Gala, will hopefully appreciate the inky drama of this Chanel Fall 2018 dress.

Basic black this definitely wasn’t as the style was festooned with layer upon layer of texture.

The reverse presented a different mood with the sleek straps giving way to the delicate skirt.

She was wise to accessorize sparingly with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a few bangles and one pin.

Her twisted updo had as many elements as the dress, but didn’t complete. It played off the frock and added some edge to the uneven layers of tulle.

Kristen Stewart In Chanel – 2018 Cannes Film Festival Jury Photocall

Kristen Stewart joined Cate Blanchett for the Cannes Film Festival jury photocall this afternoon (May 8) along the French Riviera.

Having been front row at the 2019 Resort show, and an ambassador, I wasn’t surprised to see the actress wearing Chanel.

Her classic boucle suit does feel very feminine, yet I love how her attitude gives the look some boyish charm.

My favourite part of this look, aside from her hair are the high waist trousers – tucked into a simple Re/Done tank – which keeps the look fresh and modern.

White Aquazzura Casablanca heels and cool shades rounded out her look.

Front Row @ Chanel Resort 2019

A trio of Chanel beauties were in attendance at the brand’s Resort 2019 presentation at the Grand Palais in Paris, France on Wednesday (May 3).

Kristen Stewart: The actress’s looks are never without an inherent edginess, and that was certainly the case with this Chanel Fall 2018 blazer, as it was worn with nothing else—save her Alice McCall floral-printed silk booties and what I would call a new take on a mullet for a rocker-girl vibe.

Margot Robbie: Margot’s first show as a Chanel ambassador saw her donning a Chanel Pre-Fall 2018 dress. The saturated jewel tones were dazzling on her, and I love how the stripes cut through the sequins to provide a modern, sporty edge to the girly silhouette. Are you for or against the flirty-sweet bow at the neck?

Lily-Rose Depp: Also opting for a short mini, the young starlet paired her Chanel Spring 2018 Couture design with silver sandals to enhance the metallic glint of the intricately constructed dress.

Cannes 2018 Jury

Under the presidency of Cate Blanchett, the Cannes 2018 jury will include five men and four women from seven nationalities and five continents.

Filmmakers Ava DuVernay and Denis Villeneuve and actors Kristen Stewart and Léa Seydoux will serve, alongside Chinese actor Chang Chen, French director Robert Guédiguian, Burundian singer Khadja Nin and Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev.

Cate Blanchett: The two time Oscar-winner will be the 11th woman to head the jury. I am anticipating a selection of looks from Givenchy, Armani and Gucci. Most likely custom-made. Following the Times Up and Me Too campaigns that saw Golden Globe attendees wearing all black, I’m wondering if Cate will use this event and her presidency to make a statement.
