Leelee Sobieski In Christian Dior Couture - 2013 Met Gala

Leelee Sobieski continued to show her allegiance to Raf Simons by donning a Christian Dior Couture look on the red carpet on Monday evening for the 2013 Met Gala in New York City.

The indie actress wore an unusual look consisting of a white strapless bustier gown with a black t-shirt featuring long sheer sleeves with gold embroidered gloves.

I would be lying if I said I loved the look, as it is not to my personal tastes, however, Leelee makes it work. Mostly by keeping things simple and also being the fashion risk-taker that she is.

Signature slick back locks, and a red pout completed her look.

The only other person I can see making this work is of course Tilda Swinton.

Love or loathe?

Ashley Greene In Marchesa - 2013 Met Gala

Despite being surprised by Ashley Greene’s choice of designer at the 2013 Met Gala on Monday night, I thought her look perfectly suited the punk mood.

Upon seeing Ashley’s name on the attendees list, I was expecting a so-so blush gown.

However, even though she strode on the side of something very feminine, her Marchesa Fall 2013 voluminous, black and gold-embroidered gown was styled with vampy makeup, a slightly messy updo and a dark nail polish.

Her gown was kept in focus with Harry Winston earrings and a clutch added to the mix.

Katie Holmes In Calvin Klein Collection - 2013 Met Gala

Katie Holmes looked very graceful when she stepped out onto the red carpet for Monday night’s 2013 Met Gala in New York City.

While there isn’t much punk rock going on with her custom Calvin Klein Collection creation styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and white sandals, the brunette beauty did opt for a slicked back bouffant and smoky eyes.

Her ivory halter gown with a flowing train is Katie at her best, but does the fact that it isn’t really on theme lose her style points?

Amanda Seyfried In Givenchy Couture - 2013 Met Gala

The biggest shocker of the night would’ve been if Amanda Seyfried had not worn Givenchy to the 2013 Met Gala, but of course she did.

The blonde beauty selected a dramatic print gown with a draped back from the Givenchy Spring 2007 Couture collection.

Not only was the print eye-catching, but also the lengthy train. What is the Met Gala without a dramatic train?

Opting for flawless makeup, Amanda completed her look with Fred Leighton jewels.

Michelle Williams Saint Laurent - 2013 Met Gala

Michelle Williams attempted to vamp up her style for the punk themed 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening in New York City.

I say attempt because even with the vampy makeup and punk rock hairdo, I still see sweet innocent Michelle underneath.

Keeping to her trademark classic style, she donned a black strapless Saint Laurent gown with a high-low hemline, with black T-strap Saint Laurent pumps giving the look a ladylike finish.

Fred Leighton jewels, which included a diamond tiara, and an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch for a quirky finish completed her look.

Should Michelle have pushed the punk element further? A pair of studded cuffs or studded Giuseppe Zanotti pumps perhaps?
