Who Wore Balmain Better…Sophie Marceau or Kim Kardashian?

WWIB Balmain

Sophie Marceau was one of the best dressed women during Cannes Film Festival this year.

One of her many looks was this striped Balmain two-piece Fall 2015 look, which was later worn by Kim Kardashian to the Sudler Forum during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

While some may vote against Kim just because she’s Kim, I am going to vote for Sophie because her trousers are not dragging on the floor and because of the way she styled the look amping up the chic appeal.

Who Wore Christian Dior Better…Kim Kardashian or Olivia Palermo?

Who Wore Christian Dior Better Kim Kardashian or Olivia Palermo

I never would’ve thought that Kim Kardashian and Olivia Palermo would ever wear the same clothes, but they did when they both donned this Christian Dior Spring 2015 skirt.

Kim wore it first while attending her book signing, while Olivia wore hers earlier this month to the M.A.C Cosmetics and Giambattista Valli Floral Obsession Ball.

Before we even get to the styling (of which Olivia’s far superior), Olivia wins for selecting the skirt in a size that fits.

Kim Kardashian In Balmain & LaQuan Smith – Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

Kim Kardashian In Balmain & LaQuan Smith - Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

On Wednesday (June 24) pregnant reality star Kim Kardashian arrived in Cannes, France for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Sudler Forum: Her first look of the day was predictably Balmain. The look, which hails from the Fall 2015 collection, was surprisingly covered up. I would’ve loved something fresh and summery considering the season and location, but her penchant for all things black doesn’t appear to change for anything. You may remember that Sophie Marceau wore this same look during Cannes Film Festival.

Daily Mail Party: Kim’s LaQuan Smith lace dress left little to the imagination. At this point, we’ve been there and done that many times before. Kim needs a new shock tactic, as this is beyond tired.

Kim Kardashian In Proenza Schouler – 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards

Kim Kardashian In Proenza Schouler - 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards

Kim Kardashian attended the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Monday (June 1) in New York City, following the announcement that she’s pregnant with her second child.

It would appear that being with-child is not going to bring about a change in style, as the reality star ensured maximum attention wearing a custom eyelet embroidered Proenza Schouler black chiffon dress inspired by the Fall 2015 collection.

I have to say I do like the style and design of the dress, but found myself yawning at the predictability of its sheer nature.

Kim Kardashian In Christian Dior – ‘Selfish’ Book Signing

Kim Kardashian In Christian Dior - 'Selfish' Book Signing

Kim Kardashian made an appearance at a Barnes & Noble store in New York City to sign copies of her selfie book ‘Selfish’ on Tuesday (May 5).

The reality star wore a Christian Dior Spring 2015 look which could’ve been worthy of some praise had the skirt fit properly.

I find myself admiring the new direction she has been taking recently, but the three F’s continue to allude her; finesse, flatter and fit.

Kim Kardashian In Roberto Cavalli – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

Kim Kardashian was also at the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Her backless Roberto Cavalli white gown was designed by Peter Dundas in his first dress for Cavalli since returning to the fashion house.

Drama was this dress’s middle name what with its body-con allure and intricate lacy beading that cascaded into a mile-long train of wispy feathers.

Sheer seems to be one of Kim’s favourite looks, so I’m not surprised by the provocative, see-through quality of this confection. But it doesn’t put me off of simply appreciating the showy grandeur of the look on a night that merits all-or-nothing style.
