Rooney Mara In H&M Conscious Collection – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Rooney Mara was also in attendance at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (February 26).

If you were wishing for her to debut a fresh new fashion aesthetic in a bright colour, you would have been disappointed to see her stick to her favoured neutral comfort zone in this creamy ivory design from the H&M Conscious collection.

The dress itself had a feminine lightness of form with the frill of plisse ruffles.

So, I wish that mood had been echoed in the styling, as her vampy makeup and the heavy black shoe weighed down the look.

Isabelle Huppert In Armani Privé – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Isabelle Huppert was sultry in red at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (February 26).

The Oscar nominated French actress brought some peekaboo action to her custom Armani Privé gown, that feels both coquettish and
alluring.

Like her dress for the awards ceremony, Isabelle looked effortless and elegant styling the look with Repossi jewels.

The sheer look at times can feel ubiquitous, but when it’s done this well, it’s given new life.

Ruth Negga In Oscar de la Renta – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Ruth Negga looked joyful and exuberant at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (February 26).

After her very elegant and understated Valentino Couture look for the ceremony, Ruth opted for something more playful for the after-party, wearing a sparkly Oscar de la Renta Fall 2017 dress that featured delightful high-low hemline.

It’s the perfect party dress that mixes glamour, sparkle, and doesn’t have a pesky train that can get in the way of a fun night out.

This look caps off a stellar red carpet season for Negga, who has emerged as one of the new style stars of her generation.

Nina Dobrev In Christian Dior – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Nina Dobrev attended the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (February 26).

With so much of the evening being about a return to the height of classic glamour, this Christian Dior Spring 2017 sheer tulle dress was a provocative wild child.

I would say that turning this lingerie-inspired look, featuring the signature Dior straps, from black to white made it more exposed to execution issues.

Namely, the corsetry of the bodice possessed a strangely constricted, flattening effect.

Additional edginess came by way of the choker necklace, Tamara Mellon shoes and her shorter, cropped bob.

Diane Kruger In Alexandre Vauthier Couture – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Diane Kruger attended the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday night (February 26).

The actress wore a silver mini dress from the Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2017 Couture collection with Messika diamond jewels.

While falling quite squarely into the colour trend of the night, this dress just really confuses me for the occasion.

I love the liquid metal fabric, and the fit is impeccable, but it just seemed better suited to the Grammys.

The love continued to the one-shoulder style and the front sash and yes, even the length, but it just doesn’t seem au currant enough for such a big night.

I think there is one thing we can all agree upon: We are all quite inspired to go work-out and stand up a little straighter, but beyond that, let’s hear it: Do you like this look, or are you with me that it’s a bit of a style disappointment?

Alessandra Ambrosio In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2017 Oscar Parties

Alessandra Ambrosio was on the Oscars parties circuit on Sunday (February 26), where she wore a double feature of Ralph & Russo Spring 2017 Couture looks. As the supermodel closed out their Spring 2017 show, it’s no wonder she was inspired to bring the runway to the red carpet.

Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party: First up was this delicious, blush-hued confection that was on the Red Carpet Wish List for Isabeli Fontana. But Alessandra wore it just a gracefully, with the sinuous silhouette and draping of the backless dress providing an alluring sense of seductive appeal without a hint of try-hard.

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: For her next Ralph & Russo Spring 2017 Couture look, she turned up the razzle dazzle in an asymmetrical red corset gown. Yes, the dress was dynamic on its own terms by virtue of its colour and slit. But it was her emerald jewels that set it on fire.
