Bonnie McKee In Gustavo Cadile – 2014 Grammy Awards

Bonnie McKee In Gustavo Cadile - 2014 Grammy Awards

Bonnie McKee took a bold walk down the red carpet of the 2014 Grammy Awards, held tonight (January 26) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

She stunned in a midnight-blue Gustavo Cadile Fall 2013 mermaid gown, with an extremely exaggerated fishtail train.

Despite the theatrical proportions of the structured design, it fit her like a glove and the petite singer managed to carry it off without being overwhelmed.

She added her own brand of quirk to the dress, too, starting with her signature wild-child hair. She swept back her coral-red-cum-strawberry blonde, ombre locks into a sleek, straight ‘do, also adding a softer, girly note with her bubblegum-pink lip.

While she skipped the jewels, save for a selection of gold rings and heavily blinged-out nail art, the big rock here was that prismatic, metallic handbag that served this sassy and sophisticated look rather well.

Skylar Grey In Michael Costello – 2014 Grammy Awards

SkylarGreyInMichaelCostello2014GrammyAwards

Skylar Grey took to the red carpet at Sunday’s (January 26) 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center in sunny Los Angeles.

The ‘Don’t Look Down’ songstress wore a design by Michael Costello with a nod to the ever-popular nude-hued trend.

The high-neck gown was a mix of fashion and rock ‘n roll, made of perforated leather with on-trend cutouts and an exaggerated fishtail silhouette. Skylar accented the gown with glamorous and dramatic two-tier teardrop earrings.

The singer continued to nude trend with neutral makeup and simple, pulled-back hair. The nude on nude on nude isn’t my favourite look. I love taking the leather trend to the red carpet, especially for a music industry event, but the colourless palette washed out the singer. I would have loved just a hint of colour, say in a red lip.

What do you think of Skylar’s nude Grammy look?

Foxes In Vivienne Westwood Gold Label – 2014 Grammy Awards

Foxes In Vivienne Westwood Gold Label - 2014 Grammy Awards

Foxes was one of the first out on the red carpet at the 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center on Sunday (January 26) in Los Angeles, California.

The songstress who’s nominated for Best Dance Recording with music producer Zedd, embraced two trends—monochrome and print—in a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label gown.

The off-the-shoulder, white draped detail brought the romance, while the black-and-white allover squiggle print delivered on some of the funk factor expected at the Grammys.

Skipping the red lip we see so often with monochromatic moments, she went for a nude colour and highlighted her eyes with a heavy kohl-edged cat-eye. A cascade of ombre locks topped off the look.

You may recall we saw Naomie Harris wear Vivienne Westwood’s same doodle-print, manifested in a slightly different style of dress, late last year.

Jessica Biel In Oscar de la Renta – 2013 Grammy Awards

Jessica Biel In Oscar de la Renta - 2013 Grammy Awards

Justin Timberlake, who hasn’t released an album in nearly seven years, performed his new single ‘Suit and Tie’ with Jay-Z before premiering another new song, ‘Pusher Love Girl’, on Sunday night at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

His biggest fan in the crowd was of course his wife, Jessica Biel.

Shunning the daring dress code associated with the event, Mrs Timberlake wore a beautiful Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013 gown.

The navy one-sleeve gown was styled with black Casadei ‘Blade’ t-bar sandals and gorgeous statement earrings.

Even though there aren’t any full-length pictures of Jessica in her gown, I have to say this is one of her best looks: classic, refined and very elegant.

2013 Grammy Awards Menswear Round Up

Grammys Mens 1

While the Grammys are always a stage for wild fashion from the women’s side, the men typically tend to stay on the classic side – with a few exceptions, of course. The menswear always has a lot of diversity, ranging from dapper to disgusting. This year featured a lot of monochromatic looks and, unfortunately, a lot of bad tailoring.

Justin Timberlake: He’s back and he’s looking better than ever. Suiting up in collaboration with Tom Ford was clearly a wondrous decision. Justin made his return to the Grammys wearing an impeccably tailored Tom Ford black tuxedo with a hip twist on the jacket. His shawl collar was matched with a white-edged black pocket square and a droopy black bow tie. What made this outfit so perfect, though, was the way he was able to honour the old school while staying so modern. He kept his look classic with the black studs on his shirt, those amazing black-and-white loafers, and white dress socks. And he even wore a black cummerbund. He’s easily my best dressed of the Grammys.

Frank Ocean: Prior to performing at the Grammys wearing a custom yellow Band of Outsiders tuxedo, Frank wore a Dior Homme navy wool broadcloth Teddy jacket with silver buttons, paired with a navy wool and silk round neck sleeveless sweater, and navy wool broadcloth slim pants for the red carpet. Both looks showcased his cool, laid-back style.

Ed Sheeran: The red-haired English singer gave a grand performance on stage, but not so much on the red carpet. Ed wore a poorly tailored Burberry navy tuxedo with a two-toned notch lapel. The problem was that his tux fit terribly: the waist was not tailored; the sleeves and pants were too long; and those shoes did not work. I’m all for sneakers with a suit, and I like those particular sneakers, but the rest of his outfit is so bad that it distracts from his shoes. A little more effort next time, Ed.

Karlie Kloss In Michael Kors – 2013 Grammy Awards

Karlie Kloss In Michael Kors - 2013 Grammy Awards

Before taking to the runway at 10 am this morning to open Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2013 show at the Lincoln Center in New York City, Karlie Kloss was in LA last night for the 2013 Grammy Awards.

The model took to the red carpet wearing Michael Kors Spring 2013 cut-out dress, which is the short, blue version of the gown she worn on the runway almost 6 months ago to the day.

On this occasion her hair (dubbed the ‘Karlie’) was wavy, the eyes were smoky with silver Michael Kors ‘Mikaela’ sandals completing her look.

You can’t beat this pool-blue dress for an impactful turn on the red carpet.
