Lady Gaga In Armani Privé – 2018 Grammy Awards Performance

After her striking entrance on the red carpet, Lady Gaga made a quick change for her performance early on at the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) in New York City.

Those who may not have gravitated towards the dark, punk-Victorian panache of her first Armani Privé look may appreciate the lighter and softer romantic femininity of this second Armani Privé design.

I was entranced by the hypnotizing sea of plisse that offered such a mesmerizing rush of drama to the embellished, ballet-pink gown, with LeVian jewels offering more sparkle.

She and her wing-adorned piano nearly became one during her performance.

Lorde In Valentino – 2018 Grammy Awards

After Lorde’s back-to-back black statements on Friday, I had high hopes she would bring something different to the table at the 2018 Grammy Awards tonight (January 28) in New York City.

So, I was completely captivated by her red Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 frothy confection, which was a beautiful revelation on her.

This gown deserved a red carpet moment, but the Album of the Year nominee went straight to her Madison Square Garden seat it seems.

Ashanti In Yas Couture by Elie Madi – 2018 Grammy Awards

Ashanti gave us a twirl on the red carpet for the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) in New York City, where she attended alongside Miley Cyrus and Julia Michaels.

The event is no place to play it safe or go the predictable route, so I love how she embraced the drama of this full-skirted Yas Couture by Elie Madi dress.

It was begging for multiple twirls to show off the skirt’s darker lining and voluminous flare.

The high neck and long sleeves might initially seem like a more reserved choice for the singer, but upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the fabric is see-through and the top is not lined.

Rihanna In Alexandre Vauthier Couture – 2018 Grammy Awards

Rihanna skipped the red carpet at the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) at Madison Square Garden in New York City. But, that doesn’t mean she wasn’t dressed in striking form.

There would be no missing her as she took the stage to accept the Best Rap/Sung Performance award with Kendrick Lamar (in Saint Laurent).

Her Alexandre Vauthier statement was a remake of the chocolate patent-leather trench coat and boots that graced the Fall 2016 Couture runway.

Worn off-the-shoulder, it balanced sophistication and edge, with no gimmicky, try-hard appeal. Leave it to her to make a trench just as glam and statement-making as any gown.

I loved what appeared to be the richer, aubergine inspiration behind the colour palette of the shiny monochromatic look that also included the matching boots and Causse Gantier gloves.

Miley Cyrus In Jean-Paul Gaultier Couture – 2018 Grammy Awards

I’m sure many were curious to see what Miley Cyrus was going to wear to the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) in New York City.

She went simple, sleek and chic in a black Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall 2007 Couture jumpsuit.

This is a far cry from her ‘Bangerz’ days with the sophisticated ensemble giving a nod to military with the braiding and medal shoulder details.

Many would have overcompensated with the styling, but she didn’t. Her relaxed soft waves and natural makeup were carefree yet elegant with the sparkly heels keeping the look from being too serious for the occasion.

The way she carried the single long-stemmed white rose to show her support for the #TimesUp movement was a beautiful statement.
