Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Florence Welch In Givenchy Couture GrammysFlorence Welch, who’s a lover of the dramatic and detailed, didn’t disappoint in a head-to-toe emerald green look at Sunday’s 2013 Grammy Awards at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

The dual nominee walked the red carpet in a custom gown that was modified from a Givenchy Fall 2009 Couture design.

Offering a fresh and oversized spin on the studded trend, the gown lit up the night’s events with a full-on sequined design. Adding a sultry element to the dress was a thigh-grazing slit that showed just the right amount of skin.

The singer accessorized with matching green strappy sandals and a box clutch, also by Givenchy. In addition to a bevy of rings, the look was finished with gilded nails, a moody red lip colour and face-framing strands of the singer’s famous red locks.

After stunning in black leather and lace for the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show, Beyoncé Knowles went for a different sort of sizzle at the 2013 Grammy Awards, hosted tonight at California’s Staples Center.

The ‘Love on Top’ nominee skipped those skin-baring gowns and sparkling statements for an ultra-cool, black-and-white jumpsuit by Osman. It was a delightful departure.

The Spring 2013 look may have thrown some for a loop, but I loved the graphic lines of this ensemble and its strong shoulder.

There was an underlying va-va-voom vibe here; or maybe it was just Bey bringing her “it girl” glam factor.

Geometric black-and-white bangles, Jimmy Choo ‘Kalpa’ sandals and Swarovski’s ‘Gemma’ clutch complemented the suit. This style icon finished the look with a sleek ponytail and red lip.

Faith Hill In J Mendel - 2013 Grammys

Faith Hill stuck to what works best and that happened to be a stunning little black dress at 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday, hosted at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

The country and red carpet veteran presented at the ceremony in a J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2013 cocktail dress, which put her in the same designer as fellow country star Taylor Swift.

The LBD featured a glittering beaded necklace collar, a sheer bodice, confetti-like sequins, and a figured-enhancing sweetheart neckline. An added detail was found on the front panel of the skirt in the form of a subtle floral design.

To allow the intricate details of the design shine, the singer opted for a soft and slightly messy updo and understated accessories like patent leather pumps, a blue cocktail ring and matching stud earrings.

Multiple nominee Rihanna played the ultimate lady in red at the 2013 Grammy Awards, hosted this evening at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The Barbadian beauty looked unbelievably stunning—and sophisticated—in her candy-apple-coloured, custom dress by Azzedine Alaia that was positively delicious.

The diaphanous A-line design with a long train was a flowing addition to the red carpet. I loved the criss-cross detail in the front that continued at the back.

And because this is the boundaries-pushing Rihanna after all, the look was slightly see-through, as she played her own game of peek-a-boo at the awards show.

This was an incredible outing from Ri Ri, especially with her refined styling that included minimal jewels, pretty ombre curls and a red lippie.

2013Grammys_KatDennings

Kat Dennings attended the 2013 Grammy Awards hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California this evening.

For her presenter duties, the ’2 Broke Girls’ starlet wore a strapless Vivienne Westwood cocktail dress that didn’t translate as richly as I would have liked.

It was a structured, architectural design, but like this funny girl, it didn’t take itself too seriously. After all, the blue and white print, glittery with sequins, was slightly reminiscent of tie-dye.

That pendant necklace didn’t really belong, though, nor did those chunky nude platform, peep-toe pumps.

Her dramatic oxblood lip and nails, not to mention her long dark locks, put this look on vampy territory.

Did this ensemble fall short for you?
