Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kelly Rowland - 2014 Billboard Music Awards

Kelly Rowland looked fierce on the red carpet of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight (May 18).

The singer took the crop top trend to new heights in a daring ensemble featuring a Cushnie et Ochs bra top and skirt from Fausto Puglisi.

There are very few bodies that could pull off such a revealing look so seamlessly, but Kelly’s is certainly one of them. Not a fashion malfunction in sight–only major gym inspiration for the rest of us.

Manolo Blahnik pumps, rows and rows of Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz gold bangles, a blue smokey eye and nude lips round out the sexy look.

So what do you think–are you a fan of Kelly’s daring look, or is too much on display?

Kelly Rowland In Juan Carlos Obando - 2014 amfAR New York Gala

Kelly Rowland joined Gretchen Mol on the red carpet for the 2014 amfAR New York Gala held at Cipriani Wall Street on Wednesday (February 5) in New York City.

The singer wore a Juan Carlos Obando Resort 2014 ivory-and-black printed long-sleeved dress emphasised with a tie neckline and rise-and-fall hemline.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this look as galas can prompt some to go over the top, a charge we have levied at Kelly before.

This look is effortlessly chic without being underdressed, styled with gold accessories including metallic pumps and a selection of jewels.

You may remember that Julia Roberts wore a dress by the same designer in the same print to the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Kelly Rowland In Balmain - X Factor Finale

Kelly Rowland sported a sassy ombre do for ‘The X Factor’ Season Finale held at CBS Television City on Thursday evening (December 19) in Los Angeles, California.

The newly-engaged singer wore a Balmain black gown featuring an embellished leather bodice with a suede thigh-high slit skirt styled with the same Anthony Vaccarello ‘Abisko’ sandals we saw on Jennifer Lawrence during her ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ promo tour.

I wanted to like this look as it screams diva; however, a part of me feels like this look is rather dated.

This is the kind of dress Mariah Carey would wear as a performance piece. This isn’t a compliment considering Mariah’s style has been stuck in the 90s for quite some time.

Who Wore Emilio Pucci Better Kelly Rowland or Tess Daly

Back in January, Kelly Rowland wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 dress featuring sheer slash inserts and a sexy side slit to the BET Honors.

Without a clutch or jewelry, her new curly do was the only accessory.

British TV presenter Tess Daly wore the same dress to the Pride of Britain Awards in October showcasing her wavy golden locks.

I wasn’t fond of Tess’ oversized clutch, but Kelly was in desperate need of some accessories. Tess’ gold-metallic pumps win the look for me.

Kelly Rowland In Alexandre Vauthier Couture - Architects Of Sound Awards

Kelly Rowland attended The GRAMMY Museum’s first-ever Architects Of Sound Awards in Los Angeles, California yesterday evening.

After her disappointing OTT crumb-catcher gown from the weekend, this Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2013 Couture gown is a far superior look.

Less Malibu Barbie and more sexy temptress, as she worked this sultry black crepe-and-silk halter gown with a gold neckline without forcing the sexual nature of the keyhole, thigh-high-slit look.

She could have done an Angelina/Iggy but opted to let the dress do all the talking, styling with black Gucci sandals and gold jewels.

The bouffant made way for a slick centre-parted ponytail.

Kelly Rowland In Rani Zakhem Couture - 2013 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards

Kelly Rowland attended the 2013 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Saturday evening.

Looking back on the looks chosen by Alice Eve, Lupita Nyong’o, Sigourney Weaver and Naomie Harris, Kelly’s Rani Zakhem Fall 2013 Couture gown feels a bit OTT for the event. Sorry, make that way OTT for the event.

I love a diva moment as much as the next person, but I’m not a fan of this gown. Too much boobage and a strange crumb-catcher reverse ruffled peplum killed any hope of my loving this look.
