Best Dressed Award
Alexis Bledel maybe the surprise choice for Best Dressed, but she was totally captivating wearing a stunning blue ‘Opening Ceremony’ dress with a lace yoke and hem which made her blue eyes sparkle.

Her look was paired with Loeffler Randall Genevieve asymmetrical zip sandals.

Risk That Paid Off Award
It seems that Leighton Meester is doing her best to totally separate herself from her “Gossip Girl” character, which is why we are getting edgier looks from her.

The actress opted for a chic black and white striped Louis Vuitton mini dress with a layered skirt which could have gone horrible wrong, but she works it well.

She paired her dress with red Brian Atwood heels which are to die for.

Best White Award
It’s not often we see the sexy side of Jordana Brewster.

I think it’s the power of her white Herve Leger Resort 2010 bandage dress which brought it out in her.

As always, I would have preferred a different colour heel to her black Jimmy Choo Billie Lizard print sandals.

Best Rock Chick Award
Please don’t be surprised that Kristen Stewart is on this list. This may not be to everyone’s liking, but at least Kristen isn’t trying to be someone she’s not.

With terrible mullet forced upon her for her upcoming movie “The Runaways”, I think she makes the best of a bad hair day wearing an edgy Rock & Republic Fall 2009 plunging v-neck dress with a spiked skirt and Jerome C. Rousseau booties.

She tones down the uber sexy dress with a white tank top.

Rihanna will be kicking herself that she didn’t see this first.

Best Brand Ambassador Award
Nikki Reed was flying the flag for Miu Miu wearing a modified dress from their Fall 2009 collection, with a studded Miu Miu clutch and Miu Miu suede cut-out sandals.

I love the modified dress on her as it’s more youthful than the runway dress.

I can picture the runway version being worn by Rachel Weisz or Jennifer Connelly.

Best Re-Run Award
I’m instantly drawn to Audrina Patridge’s Courtney Crawford turquoise patent leather platform pumps, but her purple Zuhair Murad Spring 2009 strapless ruched dress is equally dazzling.

You may remember that Hayden Panettiere wore this same dress recently during “Comic Con”.

Best Embellishments Awards
Emma Roberts’ Monique Lhuillier Resort 2009 white mini dress has an exquisite embellished neckline, which could be easily mistaken for statement necklace.

As always she paired her pretty dress with Brian Atwood black booties.

Best Legs Award
Fergie puts her best foot forward wearing a cute Marc Jacobs Resort 2010 mini dress covered with multi-coloured sequins.

I’m glad she didn’t opt for a boring LDB, but a sexy LBD with some pizazz.

I would have preferred the runway heels though, hers feel really heavy.

Simple Yet Stunning Award
Jennifer Morrison can do flashy, but she’s at her best when she keeps things simple.

The actress looks divine wearing a mint green Missoni Resort 2010 dress with a silver box clutch.

Wish Come True Award
A few years ago I was longing for Vanessa Hudgens to wear a major label and here she is wearing a purple Christian Dior Fall 2009 mini dress.

I love the dress on her, but I just wish she’d left the skirt alone. It would’ve been better cut short to allow it to flow like on the runway, than hemmed up.

Her dress was complemented with purple Brian Atwood pumps and a sliver clutch.

Pretty In Pink Award
Although I feel like I have seen this look many times before on Hayden Panettiere, there’s no denying how cute she looks in her pink Zac Posen dress with her favourite nude Christian Louboutin heels.

Best Floral Award
Ashley Greene was picture perfect wearing a Dolce & Gabbana ensemble including a light blue bustier top and floral print skirt.

I adore her ruby heels and purple clutch which complete her look.

Best Shoes Award
Ashley Tisdale wore a gorgeous wearing a cute Used/Unused bustier dress with Christian Louboutin Very Prive studded peep-toe pumps.

I told you these heels would be a hit with celebrities.

Most Sophisticated Award
At first I was miffed at Cameron Diaz for not showing off her best asset on the red carpet - her legs - but now I have come to realise that Cameron appears to have moved on from that look to a more sophisticated style.

Cameron looked so elegant and sophisticated wearing a grey figure-hugging Alexander McQueen asymmetrical zip dress.

Her stunning Pierre Hardy blue peep-toes are simply divine.

Most Cute Award
Every time I see Brenda Song on the red carpet the first thing I always say is “Ahhhh, she’s so cute”.

The cutie attempted to toughen up her look wearing a black and white Alexander Wang jersey dress with black clutch and black strappy sandals.

Most Interesting Award
Had Keke Palmer not worn the gold sequined bolero I probably wouldn’t have paid much attention to her look, but it’s so eye-catching.

The bolero adds an interesting dimension to her look.

Camilla Skovgaard ankle boots complete the look.

Best High-Street Look Award
Kristen Bell mixed a Topshop black jumpsuit with gold Jimmy Choo Flynn sandals.

Most Predictable Award
Their would’ve been no prizes for guessing that Beyonce Knowles would have worn Balmain to this event, as she’s worn so many Balmain pieces both on and off the red carpet.

She did pick a very colourful interesting piece with a swirling sequin pattern and a jagged hem.

I love the dress and the playful hoop earrings, but the hair I’m not fond of.

Worst Re-Run Award
Letoya Luckett wore a lace, crystal embellished, zipper dress from the Balmain Fall 2008 dress which we’ve already seen on the red carpet.

She looks good in the dress, but those clunky gold Alejandro Ingelmo clown heels just ruin the look.

Sticky But Sweet Award
Leather on a hot sunny day?

I’m getting hot just looking at Ciara, but her ruched maroon leather Cynthia Steffe Fall 2009 dress does look amazing on her, plus I love the ruffled detail.

The singer kept both her accessories and make-up light and neutral.

Best Dressed Award
Alicia Keys really stood out in her Moroccan inspired embellished mini Jenny Packham dress, and her larger-than-life curly ‘do.

The singer completed her look with Christian Louboutin Spartenvol Strass 100 sandals and a matching nude clutch.

Best Minimalist Award
Whilst everyone seemed to be opting for lavish embellished pieces, Zoe Saldana looked stunning wearing a white one-sleeved Calvin Klein dress with a cut-out detail on the hip and a daring slash to the thigh.

Brian Atwood heels completed the look.

Most Ridiculous Award
In the attempt to grab headlines Melody Thornton comes of looking ridiculous in her Alexander McQueen dress.

This ombre fringed dress with a nude body-stocking would be great as a stage costume, but on the red carpet it just doesn’t work.

The asymmetrical fringed details don’t cover enough of the body-stocking leaving her exposed.

She really didn’t think her look through.

Most Safe Award
I’m really not liking Taraji P. Henson mullet, but I do love the elegant black Kaufman Franco one-sleeved gown with leather strapped detail on the back.

The unfortunately thing here is that the backless nature of the gown reveals her lower back tattoo.

I would’ve preferred her to wear something funkier for this occasion.

Trying WAY Too Hard Award
Cassie used to be so sweet, so this harder image to rival Rihanna just doesn’t work for me.

It’s so false from the hair cut to the peek-a-boo Mark Fast knit dress to the Giuseppe Zanotti fold-over booties

Screams wannabee.

Best Super Hero Award
Singer Keri Hilson channels her inner Wonder Woman wearing a black bustier dress adorned with multi-coloured stars and other interesting shapes.

Her look was a little more risky than the others which made her stand out.

She could have easily over done her look with lots of bling, but she knows her statement dress should do all the talking.

Casadei black satin pumps completes this look.

Best Heels Award
Amerie opted for a LWD with Alexander McQueen peep-toe booties.

Best Homage Award
Estelle paid homage to the late Michael Jackson by wearing a single white glove with her denim tiered Acne baroque peplum dress.

I love the cute nature of this dress with the contrasting silver spiked earrings.

Just OK Award
Actress Keke Palmer wore an embellished dress with sparkled in the LA sunshine.

Most Original Award
Tyra Banks could have been predictable and worn  Balmain or slinky dress instead she tired something new wearing a menswear-inspired satin ensemble.

I wouldn’t have thought Tyra could pull off an androgynous look but she totally works it.

Her look includes midnight blue satin skinny pants, a dove grey vest and satin pussy bow blouse, with suede Trib Two pumps.

Neutral make up and simply styled hair make this look work.

June 15th, 2009

Excuse me whilst I pick my chin off the floor.

I’ve waited my whole lifetime for Jennifer Aniston to wow me, and she does wearing this Prada Spring 2009 silver metallic crushed dress.

What I love about this look the most is the confidence she exudes. It’s oozing from every pore and for me that’s more captivating than the colour and the cut.

Jen could have gone for the safer runway dress as it’s in her favourite colour - Black, but she not only opted for the silver dress, but a shorten silver dress plus she didn’t press it like Nicole Kidman did.

This may not sit well with Jennifer Aniston’s loyal fans as this is such a huge departure from her usual style, but I love it.

Oh and I hate to be crude, but where did those twins sprout from?

This is the first time in a long time that Amber Valletta has proved her supermodel status.

She hasn’t impressed me much on her last few outings, but she works it out in this maroon sequined Proenza Schouler 2009 Pre-Fall dress.

I love the colour the cut-outs in the shoulders, and the contrast exposed zipper at the back.

She completed her look with her hair tied back with sweeping bangs, whilst wearing black patent Brian Atwood “Maniac” pumps and carrying a feathered Raven Kauffman Couture clutch.

Like Jennifer Aniston, I would have bet on Jodie Foster picking the black runway version of this Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 dress. But instead she wore a grey satin, shadow-print version with complementary strappy sandals and clutch.

Her dress is exquisite with the origami folds on the bodice, and the daring low cut.

I love that these women are stepping out of their comfort-zones at this event.

Chelsea Handler wore a two-tone Lanvin Spring 2009 dress, with satin champagne strappy heels.

We’re not used to seeing Chelsea this polished and speculator, but she pulls this look off with great aplomb.

I hope she keeps up this sophisticated style of dressing, as I could really warm to her.

Mary McCormack tried to bring this grey strapless Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2008 dress up-to-date with a cage belt and YSL Trib Two’s.

It’s a nice look, but we’ve seen this dress so many, many, many times before.

Michelle Trachtenberg wore a Reem Acra knee-length dress covered in gold sequined leaf details and a contrasting waist band.

Her dress which she wears with black open-toes heels is nice enough, but it feels a bit too old for her.

Jenny McCartney looked out-friggin-standing wearing this crisp white pant suit.

Even though she has been dressing so sophisticatedly for a while now, I’m still always surprised at her fabulous looks.

Hair, make-up earrings, clutch, everything is perfect. My only bug-bear are her extremely long pants. I hate the thought of them picking up dirty as they drag on the floor.

Of all these looks Dania Ramirez’ is the one I would definitely purchase to go shopping at the mall on a sunny day. I love this summery look with the white tube top, floral tulip skirt and purple accessories, but it’s feels too casual for the red carpet.

Terri Seymour showed off that enivalbe figure wearing a coral RM by Roland Mouret Fluro dress with pleated neckline knee-length dress, paired with black patent pumps.

Selena Gomez wore a simple black H&M tank dress, with equally simple black pumps.

Elizabeth Banks set the bar really high for her red carpet looks during Cannes Film Festival, but I’m not really enjoying this look on her at all.

Her sparkling MaxMara dress is nice enough, but I have never been a fan of a sheer yoke. Reminds me too much of ice-skaters.

The actress completed her look with satin black pumps and a matching clutch.

Keke Palmer wore a printed maxi dress, which she accessorized with peacock earrings.

I really don’t like this dress as too much going on with the clashing prints plus those earrings are just hideous and so unnecessary.

Lynn Collins’ invite must have said fancy dress.

Christina Hendricks has such a stunning figure, and she embraces colour in many of her looks.

With that said I can’t help but be really disappointed with her all black, all boring look at this event, when so many women really step it up a notch.

June 1st, 2009

Unlike Cannes Film Festival, we only saw one re-run from the MTV Movie Awards.

SAG Award nominated actress Keke Palmer, and High School Musical actress Ashley Tisdale have both worn this purple Elise Øverland leather dress on the red carpet.

Keke Palmer wore it with a pair of plain black pumps to the 2009 Nickelodeon’s 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards, whereas Ashely wore hers last night to the MTV Movie Awards.

Ashley heavily acccesorized her look with a studded Balenciaga belt, clutch and a Loree Rodkin snake coil ring.

I love Ashley’s look, but seeing it side by side with Keke, it feels like Ashley went overboard with the accessories, so Keke wins for me.

Best Dressed Award
This is the impact I wanted Cameron Diaz to make, but instead that honour goes to Sienna Miller.

I love the sea green colour of her Swarovski-encrusted Twenty8Twelve Fall 2009 dress.

The length is perfect to show off her pins, and the shoulder pads are subtle enough not to draw any Balmain comparisons.

The Brit actress carried a silvery Chanel clutch, and wore pair gorgeous Nicholas Kirkwood gold heels, to complete this stunning look.

I Don’t Follow Red Carpet Rules Award
If we expected Kristen Stewart to wear a cute pink mini dress, with silver strappy sandals, we were wrong.

She hit the red carpet wearing a Yigal Azrouël Fall 2009 red and black dress, with a cross cross detail on the sheer yoke, and a wide black belt.

I can imagine her being wrestled into this dress, and her stylist compromising on the Converse sneakers, but she totally rocks this look.

Best Black Award
Leighton Meester took a risk at the Costume Institute Gala, which didn’t pay off for me, but this edgy cut-out Emilio De La Morena Spring 2009 dress totally works.

This interesting dress has peek-a-boo parts, sheer panels, folds, and cut-outs, which Blair Waldorf wouldn’t approve of, but totally love.

She completes her look with Brian Atwood Brie purple suede ankle boots.

Risk That Paid Off Award
Taraji P. Henson certain got into the spirit of this fun awards ceremony, wearing a black and white strapless printed Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 bustier dress.

The part French maid, part Chinese porcelain inspired look is definitely daring, and with her fun-loving personality she totally pulls it off.

I love how she plays up the ruffled detail on the back of her skirt, and her punky spiky new ‘do.

Moving Out Of Her Comfort Zone Award
This Moschino Fall 2009 red and navy floral print sleeveless dress with a ruffled hem, seems a little out of Lauren Conrad’s comfort-zone, which I really appreciate.

It feels a bit dark and mysterious, which is complemented with dark red lips, and black strappy booties.

I only wish she had pulled her hair back, to show off the floral shoulder detail.

Best Use Of Colour Award
I love to see bold bright colours on the red carpet, which is why I love Vanessa Hudgens peach satin Max Azria dress.

The dress is very grown up, but she injects her youthful glow and enthusiasm, to make this a perfect red carpet look, which she pairs with Jimmy Choo shoes, and a Nancy Gonzalez bronze clutch.

I really glad she didn’t go full on boho, with a printed maxi dress, which we’ve seen many times from her.

Hate The Hair, Love The Dress Award
I love Megan Fox’s black and gold Dolce & Gabbana strapless brocade cocktail dress, which she had shorten. It really suits her dark, mysterious persona, plus it shows off her toned figure.

She wisely kept accessories to a minimum, and added a bit of spice via her Christian Louboutin Differa sandals.

The biggest downsides are her hair, overly orange glow.

Best Theme Award
At first I hated Ashley Greene’s hair, but then I realised how much it worked with what appears to be a 40s housewife theme.

The hair works with her alluringly form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana floral print dress, with a beautiful, yet subtle voluminous skirt.

A neon yellow clutch, and bold red lips, add a touch of bright colour.

The Kate Beckinsale “This Is Not The Oscars” Award
I was really surprised to see LeAnn Rimes wearing such a formal gown by J.Mendel to the MTV Movie Awards.

She looks beautiful, she really does, but she’s a little overdressed.

Most Vanilla Award
Miley Cyrus opted for a very soft look for this event. I would’ve expected something with a lot more attitude, but she looks lovely in her pale pink cowl neck Moschino Cheap & Chic dress, which had a ruffled detail, going down her back.

The only hint of the wild rock wannabee Miley, was via her rings and bracelets.

Best Re-Run Award
I love Ashley Tisdale’s purple leather Elise Øverland dress, and the accessories she picked really punch up the look, especially those lust worthy Paul & Joe Sister heels.

We’ve seen this look before on the red carpet, but as Ashley wears it so well, that all is forgiven.

Surprisingly Not Predictable Award
I would have expected 3 things from Audrina Patridge.

1. Something low cut
2. Her black Alexander McQueen Bow Clutch
3. Her Balmain studded heels.

She blows that out of the water wearing a loose fitting paillette covered Joey Tierny Couture dress, with a dove grey Alexander McQueen clutch, and cream Louboutin heels.

Nice Dress, Shame About The Shoes Award
Keke Palmer’s look was almost perfect. I really loved her coral embellished Elise Øverland dress. It’s young, it’s fun, it sparkles, and it summery, but those grey booties lose her many points.

Stand Out Award
Malin Akerman stood out the most, because she is the only one who opted for pants, wearing a crisp, white Dolce & Gabbana suit, with a pale blue corset.

Her hair was sleeked back to complete this sophisticated look, which she didn’t over accessorize.

Most Summery Award
Yes Paris Hilton needs a new clutch and shoe combo, but there’s no denying her vibrant vest for spring and summery colours.

I love her cute coral Jenny Packham Spring 2009 strapless mini, with its ruffled skirt, and gold embroidered bodice.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun/Au Natural Award
Monique Coleman must have sensed when she looked in the mirror, that she would get ridiculed for her hair.  I admire her for ditching the extensions, and going au natural. I can’t see many others sporting this look.

Her Christian Louboutin Spartenvol Strass sandals complemented her silver and black spacey mini tutu dress, which you may all hate, but I will take this over a mini dress with tights any day.

She wanted to have fun at this event, and it shows.
