Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Sophia Bush, Perrey Reeves and Keisha Whitaker joined Katie Holmes to celebrate Ann Taylor’s Summer 2011 collection at the Château Marmont in LA yesterday.

Sophia Bush wore an Ann Taylor sunburst sheath dress which she paired with a beige blazer. You can see her without the blazer in a picture below.

An Ann Taylor bronze lace cuff, a cross body bag and Christian Louboutin platform sandals completed her look.

Perrey Reeves opted for a bright red halter dress which she teamed with Ann Taylor accessories including a fringed necklace and a pink exotic foldover clutch.

I love the rose gold sandals.

Keisha Whitaker opted for a very casual look with some on trend coloured jeans.

Black Ann Taylor gladiator heels completed her look.

Blake Lively was obviously saving a stunning red carpet look for her own premiere.

The beautiful Gossip Girl actress wowed on the red carpet last night wearing a mini Marchesa Spring 2010 dress.

The strapless nude corseted cocktail dress has a black feathered skirt – which appears to be a bit shorter than the runway look – and an embroidered floral bodice.

It’s safe to say she owned this look. It’s like Georgina Chapman made it especially for her.

I would’ve preferred a peep-toe, but her nude pumps work perfectly with her dress.

After her Emmy’s plait disaster, Blake opted for loose waves and light nude make-up for her finished touches.

Blake has said on many occasions that she doesn’t use a stylist.

She picks looks she likes from Style.com and contacts the designers directly.

Like hating her good looks and long legs wasn’t enough, we have to envy her for making her Style.com lookbook come to life.

BDOTW contender for sure.

Keisha Whitaker wore a tangerine Rachel Roy Resort 2010 embellished dress, which I didn’t realise had a zipper detail going up the side until now.

Forest and Keisha did a vintage Posh & Becks move by colour co-ordinating their looks, as his sneakers matched her dress.

So cute.

Stylist June Ambrose walked the red carpet wearing a silver Alexander McQueen metallic brushstroke dress which had a cowl-neck dress, a small peplum on the hips and padded shoulders.

Black pumps an a silver clutch complete the look.

Actress Taraji P. Henson arrived at “GlobalGrind.com Presents Russell Simmons Salute to Grammy Nominees” event back in February wearing a metallic gunmetal Herve Leger Spring 2009 dress with black Giuseppe Zanotti cut-out booties and a purple clutch.

Kiely Williams wore the same dress to the “Rally For Kids” Cocktail Party back in May with my favourite taupe Fendi satin bow pumps.

Keisha Whitaker walked the red carpet at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards with her husband wearing the same dress with bright pink heels.

Kiely wins this for me mostly because of the shoes, but most importantly because she didn’t over accessorize her look, which she is known to do.

Sophia Bush was one of the chosen few, to attend a private dinner hosted by designer Catherine Malandrino.

Of course the One Tree Hill beauty was wearing Malandrino’s outstanding designs.

She looked stunning in a blush georgette chain top, with black pencil skirt from the Malandrino Spring 2009 collection.

You may remember that Catherine wore the gown version of this chain top, to a similar party she held last year.

Catherine Malandrino glowed in a pink deep v-neck chiffon draped gown with pleated details, which was worn with much fierceness by the stunning model Sessilee Lopez.

Mary J Blige and Keisha Whitaker glowed in their dresses.

Mary wore a gold v-neck chic dress from the Malandrino Resort 2009 collection, whilst Keisha wore a white and gold print Malandrino kaftan over a white playsuit.

Katie Holmes didn’t walk the red carpet as E! had promised. Instead she skipped to present Sean Penn with the Outstanding Actor Award.

I love how she interpreted this asymmetrical Jil Sander Spring 2009 dress, because the runway version was longer, and had cut-outs on each thigh.

She completed her look with leg lengthening nude Stuart Weitzman heels.

Perrey Reeves looked ethereal in her Monique Lhuillier Spring 2009 halter gown, which had floral appliqués on the hem of the skirt.

She matched her bronze clutch, with the bronze sash on her gown.

Keisha and Forest Whitaker gave Diane Lane and Josh Brolin a run for their money, in the best dressed couple category.

He was dashing in a black 3 piece suit, whilst she was divine in an Rafael Cennamo silk emerald green one shoulder gown.

Amy Adams didn’t exactly wow me in her strapless purple Giambattista Valli gown, which had a corseted bodice, and gathered detailing on the front. But it was a refreshing colour for her, as she has worn a lot of black lately.

She completed the look with a classic updo, black peep toes, and glittering H Stern jewels.

Brown has never been my favourite colour on the red carpet, so when I saw Andrea Bowen I was initially turned off, but her Rafael Cennamo dress grew on me.

The dress had a brown taffeta bubble hem skirt, with a sequin bodice and leather waistband. She did not try to over dress. Instead she looked her age, and the interesting shape of the dress was not what we would normally expect.

Katrina Bowden wore a dress by Christian Siriano.

The dress would have been better suited to the Grammy’s or the MTV Awards, but she looks so hot it in, that I am sure that will be overlooked.

Laura Linney looked amazing in a coral one-shouldered Michael Kors gown.

She is always so gracious on the red carpet.

Jane Krakowski’s Roberto Cavalli red gown plunged dangerously low.

January Jones did not follow the spring-like colours, nor the red and white trend on the red carpet last night. The Mad Men actress wore an ornate, Grecian-inspired Andrew GN Spring 2009 haltered gown.

I adored the gold detail, which made this black gown really stand out.

Miss Jones seems to have this red carpet thing figured-out.

Taraji P. Henson was absolutely gorgeous wearing white silk jersery Herve Leroux figure-enhancing halter gown.

Christina Applegate went for laid-back glamour wearing a very vivid green Emanuel Ungaro gown.

The colour of this gown is amazing, as it draped loosely around her stunning figure.

Her hair was pulled back to show off her stunning Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and she also carried a Daniel Swarovski clutch.

Laura Dern arrived wearing a black custom-made Burberry gown, with embroidered detail on the top half of the gown, and a single pleat in the full skirt.

This picture does not do this dress justice, as it looked amazing on her.

Julia Ormond wore a navy Azzaro gown, which had a jeweled halter neck, and a jeweled detailed on the hip.

Holly Hunter wore a strapless fuchsia Reem Acra Spring 2009 gown, which had a long train.

I didn’t think she did the gorgeous gown justice.

There is a distinct trend for red heads wearing green dresses on the red carpet. Isla Fisher and Amy Adams have all worked this look, now Alison Pill.

Her fiery red locks complimented her racing green Jason Wu Fall 2008 halter dress with a crisscross bodice perfectly. Not sure about the shoes, but the dress is a great pick.

Worst Dressed Female Award
Between the criss cross halter neck, the exposure of her breasts and her sour puss face, Brittny Gastineau is a holy hot mess.

Worst Dressed Male/Worst White/Worst Michael Jackson Impression Award
Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, again wearing my pet hate on the red carpet – sunglasses, looked really really bad.

Mostly because of the off white suit with the white tee. I am surprised he did not colour coordinated the crutches.

I can not believe he flew from Manchester in England to attended an event on crutches when he did not even win an award. ?!?!

Worst Woman Over 6ft Award
After seeing what is possible with Candace Parker, WNBA player Lisa Leslie could have tried harder.

Worst Couple Award
Actor Forest Whitaker and wife Keisha are not usually known as Mr & Mrs Bland, but both went with very dark colours for such a sunny day.

Keisha is wearing a black Fendi Fall 2008 dress, with a feathered hem.

I Know You Can Do Better Award
On the red carpet is were Fergie really makes some magic happen, but on this occasion, she seems very muted. The Calvin Klein dress looks great, but it does not match Fergie’s personality.

No Wonder You Did Not Walk The Red Carpet Award
Jessica Biel did not walk the red carpet, and no wonder. What she is wearing is suitable for work or a trip to the mall, but a little bland for a red carpet event.

Her peeping bra strap also loses her many points, her hair looks very greasy, she is in desperate need of some lipstick and what is that thing around her neck?

Nice Dress, Shame About The Make-Up Award
Toccara Jones plum dress is gorgeous. It really shows of her fantastic curves, but the eye make-up is enough to make Lil’ Kim say “Oh no you didn’t”.

Three-peat Award
Figure skater Michelle Kwan ends up in this category for being the 3rd person within a week to wear this Dolce & Gabbana dress.

As beautiful as the dress is, I am bored of it already.

Best At Looking Trashy Award
Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt look equally trashy, as you would expect.

Bridget’s Mandalay dress has also been worn by her fellow housemate Holly Madison.

I guess they share dresses as well as wrinkly old men. *shudders*
