Celebrity Shoe Swap: Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley attended the 2011 Jameson Empire Awards in London this week wearing black Jimmy Choo satin pumps.

Keira tends to wear black pumps on the red carpet regardless of the type of dress she’s wearing.

Her black pumps are safe and boring.

Keira’s lovely Rodarte dress needed a blush coloured or dainty heel.

Shoes Keira Should Have Worn

Miu Miu’s crystal-heel satin sandals are embellished perfectly to complement the embellishments on Keira’s dress. I love mixing textures and these satin heels would’ve been ideal for her dress.

The Versace two-tone patent leather pumps are one of my favorite nude pumps this season. It’s hard to find this exact colour. The colour, shape and style make it a great option for Keira. You may remember that Michelle Monaghan wore these same heels this week.

Tabitha Simmons Dana suede sandals are my favorite heels for Keira. They were also the shoe choice for recent BDOTW winner Jennifer Aniston. Had Keira opted for these heels they may have carried the same luck for the British actress too.

The Nicholas Kirkwood suede and ruffle chiffon platform sandals would have complemented the ruching on Keira’s dress. This is a unique choice as Kirkwood’s and Rodarte’s designs work very well together.

Which pair would you pick for Keira?

Keira Knightley In Rodarte – 2011 Jameson Empire Awards

Keira Knightley attended the 2011 Jameson Empire Awards in London tonight, where she was honored with the “Empire Hero Award.”

We’ve known Keira so long, that we know that she only has two “go-to” designers for big events.

Chanel and Rodarte.

On this occasion she opted for a Rodarte Spring 2011 look.

Her nude embellished dress with cold shoulders, ruffled trims and a Peter Pan collar was styled with black pumps.

Thankfully I’m so interested in the many features of her dress, that I can almost pretend that the black pumps are not really happening.

Is this a BDOTW contender for you?

British Celebrities Love…Miu Miu Ostrich Leather Hobo Bag

British style leaders Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller may differ in their personal style choices, but it seems the two may have similar tastes when it comes to bags.

Both actresses were spotted this week carrying the same Miu Miu Spring 2011 Ostrich leather hobo bag in different color ways.

Keira posed for cameras with her version on Monday evening outside of The Comedy Theater leaving her latest performance in “The Children’s Hour’, while Sienna carried hers during a casual night out at London’s Theatre Royal Hallymark.

The bag features an ostrich leather flap, top handle which adds a lady-like appeal and a long detachable shoulder strap for a hands-free and crossbody coolness.

I haven’t spotted the ostrich leather versions online yet, but Net-A-Porter US and Net-A-Porter International have this camel, tan and chocolate leather version.

Keira Knightley In Chanel Couture – The Childrens Hour Press Night

So…the PR who told everyone that Keira Knightley was going to be the face of Tom Ford was incorrect.

What they should’ve said is that Keira hadn’t worn Tom Ford for 6 years.

Therefore it’s no surprise to see Keira wearing her first love – Chanel – to The Childrens Hour Press Night at The Penthouse in London’s Leicester Square last night.

She looked breath-taking wearing a black chiffon Chanel Fall 2009 Couture dress with an embellished embroidered neckline and back detail and a flowing chiffon train.

Keira can do no wrong in Chanel.

Even the black pumps – which work – don’t stop me loving this look.

No need for jewels with the embellishments. Effortless as always and born to wear Chanel

BDOTW contender?

Keira Knightley For Elle UK March 2011

British actress Keira Knightley gives us her signature pout as she graces the cover of Elle UK for their March 2011 issue.

Keira wears Tom Ford’s much-coveted debut women’s collection in the editorial.

In her exclusive interview with Elle, Keira talks about the power of fashion and her own personal style.

The full shoot and interview appears in the March issue of Elle, out February 2nd. You can also check out the behind-the-scenes video at Elle UK.

Here are some extracts.

On her Chanel campaign: “There’s something about the story of the woman, the survivor nature of her. And that personality has continued within the whole house. It’s a very small group of people who do this enormous, huge, worldwide thing. I just thought, “Ooh, I’d quite like to look into your world.” You walk into the ateliers and it’s nearly like stepping back in time, even though it’s so modern and so current. The skill and the thought that goes into everything. I find it really interesting.”Read More…

Best Dressed Of The Week – Keira Knightley In Valentino & Leighton Meester In Elie Saab

We all started off the week loving Jennifer Lopez, but by Friday we’d all changed our minds.

You all voted Keira Knightley in Valentino as your best dressed this week.

Her romantic gown with its dreamy ruffle detailing won you over despite the gown not getting the red carpet outing it deserved.

My mind changed several times this week.

Michelle Monaghan wearing Versace was my runner to Leighton Meester.

Leighton’s ultra feminine Elie Saab dress was divine. I just adore the detailing on her lady-like dress and her silver Jimmy Choo clutch.
