2015 Coachella Music Festival Style Roundup

Coachella 1

When it comes to the Coachella Music Festival, boho style reigns supreme—right down to the ubiquitous flower crowns. This past weekend brought out a full range of Coachella cool-kids who marched to the beat of their own hippie drum in Indio, California.

Kendall Jenner: Infusing her Day 1 Coachella style with decidedly western appeal, the model paired her Derek Lam 10 Crosby Spring 2015 suede vest with a striped bikini top, ripped jorts, and Saint Laurent snakeskin booties. A tribal collar necklace and stacks of bangles took the look to the next level with a typical fringe hobo bag rounding it out.

Alessandra Ambrosio: Channeling her inner cowgirl during the fest and at the Forever 21 BBQ, the Brazilian supermodel naturally wore a skin-is-in look anchored by her Forever 21 suede fringe halter top and teeny cutoff denim shorts. I loved the addition of her turquoise jewelry, tall cowboy boots, and wide-brimmed cowboy hat for plenty of kitschy fun.

Gigi Hadid: Rocking another look with plenty of fringe benefits, Gigi was spotted on Day 2, where she added chains and charm to her ensemble consisting of an ASOS fringe suede collar, black cutoffs, a Guess body chain, and H&M ankle boots. With her long blonde windswept waves, she managed to put an adorable spin on Coachella dressing.

Katy Perry In Balenciaga – ‘Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour’ Screening

Katy Perry In Balenciaga - 'Katy Perry The Prismatic World Tour' Screening

Katy Perry attended the screening of ‘Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour’ at The Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown LA on Thursday (March 26) in Los Angeles, California.

We’ve seen just about every side of Katy Perry, yet I was still surprised to see this new direction – classic with an edge.

Poised to perfection, her Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2015 tuxedo dress balances modernity with classic tailoring for a super chic look.

The edge is imbued via the sexy lace up over-the-knee Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 boots and the dark berry lip, plus a selection of rings to round out the red carpet offering.

I don’t know about you, but just like her Kitty Kat fans, I’m lapping this up.

Get The Look: Katy Perry’s Sultry Cat-Eye Grammy Awards Look

57th GRAMMY Awards - ArrivalsThe ever-evolving Katy Perry proves that there is no style too outrageous for her to try at least once. The radiant artist sparkled on the Grammy Awards red carpet in a sheer Zuhair Murad embellished dress and an orchid-hued tousled bob hairstyle that perfectly complemented her sultry beauty look.

With such a bold look, celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey created an elegant makeup that played up Katy’s greatest features without looking too over done. Jake didn’t wait to complete with the bright tones of her hair and opted to use warm bronzes throughout the look.

Here’s how Jake achieved this sultry cat-eye look:

To create that flawless finish on the skin, Jake began by layering CoverGirl Stay Fabulous Outlast 3-in-1 Foundation onto skin with a flat kabuki foundation brush. The flat compact style of the brush allowed Jake to evenly work the product into the skin and create a streak free application that looked softly airbrushed. Jake revisits the skin after the eyes are complete and sets the foundation with a light dusting of CoverGirl Clean Powder.

For that dramatic face-framing brow, Jake emphasized Katy’s brows with CoverGirl Powder Brow + Liner in Medium Brown.

It was all about the eyes with this look. He started by blending the darkest shade of the CoverGirl Eye Shadow Quads in Blooming Blushes onto the outer creases and pulling it into the crease. Jake then saturated a shadow brush with the second darkest and layered it the lids. He continued the gradient effect by applying the third shade on the inner lids. He finished by applying the lightest shade in the tear ducts as a highlight which opened up the eyes and gave the illusion of a brighter effect overall.

To achieve that bold black graphic cat eye, Jake expertly lined Katy’s eyes with CoverGirl Bombshell Intensity Liner and finished the eyes with a two generous coats of CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom by LashBlast Mascara on both the upper and lower lashes.

To accentuate the cheeks, Jake used CoverGirl Clean Glow Blush for both definition and color. He sculpted the cheekbones with the darkest shade in the compact and followed with the lightest tone on the apples of the cheeks.

Jake finished the look with the perfect molten bronze lip. He layered CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in Sultry Sienna under a slight swipe of CoverGirl Colorlicious Lip Gloss in Melted Coffee.

Katy Perry In Valentino Couture – 2015 Grammy Awards Performance

Katy Perry In Valentino Couture - 2015 Grammy Awards Performance
Katy Perry performed ‘By the Grace of God’ at the 2015 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 8) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

There was no place for extravagant antics or cartoonish costumes during this emotional rendition, so the songstress toned it way down in a structural Valentino Haute Couture gown from the Sala Bianca 945 collection.

I loved the calmly statuesque and stoic spirit of this pristine white dress with its cape detail. It was quietly beautiful and appropriate.

Even Katy’s bright purple hair from the red carpet had miraculously disappeared into a sleek low ponytail.

Katy Perry In Zuhair Murad Couture - 2015 Grammy Awards

Katy Perry sparkled on the red carpet of the 2015 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 8) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Fresh from her Super Bowl performance this time last week, the ‘Dark Horse’ songstress and multiple nominee donned a jewel piece of a look from the Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture collection.

Keeping the belt from the runway, she wore the glitzy, sheer number with silver heels and Sophia Webster statement earrings, which weren’t so much necessary given the embellishment of the dress.

Freshly coloured purple locks were teased into a wavy bob, adding another layer of flash to the high-octane look.

You may recall that this shimmering confection was one that had been selected for Beyonce Knowles on Fashion Critic’s red carpet wish list.

Were you glad to see Katy Perry debut this design, or do you wish Queen Bey had worn it first?
