Marie Claire’s 3rd Annual Image Makers Awards Red Carpet Roundup

A host of stars joined Tracee Ellis Ross, Emma Stone, Kiersey Clemons and Yara Shahidi for Marie Claire’s 3rd Annual Image Makers Awards on Thursday (January 11) in West Hollywood, California.

Issa Rae: A part of me was longing for a more defined shape to this tangerine Prada gown, but between the colour, the all-over crystal embroidery and that infectious smile, I was totally charmed by this look.

Michelle Monaghan: When I saw Michelle in this beige Alex Perry dress with matching Christian Louboutin ‘ Toufrou’ pumps, I was looking for a break in its one-noteness somewhere; but her Irene Neuwirth 18k gold, carved strawberry pink opal, turquoise and diamond pavé earrings weren’t enough.

Hair How-To: Katherine Langford’s Golden Globes Hair That Sparkled

Celebrity hairstylist Christian Wood worked with Katherine Langford for the 2018 Golden Globe Award’s on Sunday.

When it comes to the inspiration Christian said, “As soon as I saw her custom Prada dress I wanted to carry the sparkle on the waist band through to the hair.

Here’s how to get the look.

“I started by applying Wella Eimi Full Volume Mousse through-out her wet hair and blow dried smooth with a round brush. Blow dry all the hair backwards lifting at the roots for extra volume.

Next add Wella Eimi Luminous Reflective Oil through- out the ends to add shine and smoothness and make the hair more manageable.

Spray Wella Eimi Dry Me throughout all the roots and leave for 5 minutes to absorb. Once the 5 minutes are up brush all the product out. This helps keep volume in the hair and acts as a powder to prevent natural oils occurring which can make the hair heavy later on.

Using a GHD Soft Curl in Large, take medium sections of hair and wrap around the barrel holding for 10 seconds. Do this through the entire hair in a backwards motion so the hair curls away from the face. Leave to cool completely.

Once cool brush out the waves with a Mason and Pearson till the curls resemble soft glamorous waves, next using a tail comb put a deep side part into the hair and flip the larger side over to create volume and height. Sweep one side back and secure with the individual sparkly stars and gently loosen with your fingers gently pulling the hair for a little added volume.

Shake out the waves with your fingers to add a tiny bit of texture and spray the entire hair with Wella Eimi Stay Firm hairspray for long lasting results.

To finish give the hair a quick spritz with glam mist spray to add a little extra shine.

And for the final touch, Jennifer Behr Venus Bobby Pins and the Vega Bobby Pins Set were added to complete the look.”

Katherine Langford In Prada – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

It’s no surprise that breakout star Katherine Langford is here to make her mark this year.

The ’13 Reasons Why’ actress opted for a long sleeve plunging Prada number at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. While black can sometimes look harsh on such a fair complexion, Katherine’s smokey metallic blue makeup made her light eyes pop and brought some depth to the look.

Her Old Hollywood side-swept waves accentuated the classic silhouette of the gown.

Chopard jewelry brought out the beautiful beading on the Prada gown, adding sparkle to the minimalist design.

HFPA and Instyle Celebration of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many more style darlings were at the HFPA and Instyle Celebration of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Wednesday (November 15) in West Hollywood, California.

Serinda Swan: This Styland ensemble brought every bit of smoldering sizzle we’d expect from a hot-red gown except manifested in a suit, and I loved every minute of it—especially with the matching red lip and handbag.

Andrea Riseborough:
The event saw Andrea reinvent her look again, as she rocked a new Galaxina hairstyle with an equally galactic metallic jumpsuit. Directional makeup and decorative wrist cuffs completed the look that may split the vote—but I think we can all agree that there will be no boredom with this punchy, experimental look.

Olivia Culpo: Some may fault the visible cups underneath this Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018 gown. But, the wispy beauty of the tulle and its glinting embellishment had a sense of enchantment, regardless.

Katherine Langford In Dolce & Gabbana – 6th Annual Australians in Film Award & Benefit Dinner

Katherine Langford joined Abbie Cornish at the 6th Annual Australians in Film Award & Benefit Dinner on Wednesday (October 18) in Los Angeles.

The ’13 Reasons Why’ actress opted for an all-black Dolce & Gabbana ensemble which brought a sensual flair to tailored suiting. The sheer corset with visible boning offset the jacket and pleated skirt.

I can see the potential in this look, but I don’t think things have come together as harmoniously as intended. The proportions of the bustier and skirt are a few inches from being perfect and the draped jacket combined with her flowing hair was a bit too much.

More successful was the red lipstick and green earrings which brought to mind Dolce & Gabbana’s signature glamorous styling.

Katherine Langford In Prada – 2017 Teen Choice Awards

Fringed and dangerous, Katherine Langford was ready to shimmy and shake at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 13) in LA.

The ’13 Reasons Why’ actress had the Midas touch with her gold-tinged, baby-blue frock by Prada and complementary metallic shoes.

But, with such decorative elements coupled with the dress’s high neckline, the look really was begging for a simple bun in the beauty department.

As presented, her long, barely-styled waves weighted down the effect.

Variety Power Of Young Hollywood Red Carpet Roundup

In addition to Yara Shahidi, Zendaya Coleman, and Chloe Grace Moretz, the Variety Power of Young Hollywood Party brought out plenty more PYTs to the festivities on Tuesday (August 8) in LA.

Skai Jackson: Skai can wear sweet looks with the best of them, but I loved how this H&M look combined the adorable charm of her ruffled, floral blouse with an edgier attitude in its black colourway and the addition of the patent-leather skirt. An incredible ’do topped with a few hair jewels along with Stuart Weitzman sandals completed the ensemble.

Charli XCX: Paring back the original presentation of this House of Holland Fall 2017 ensemble, the entertainer wore the PJs-inspired separates with her own rebellious fashion personality. For her, that meant tying the top to a midriff style and adding a choker and neon-orange sandals.

Kaitlyn Dever: While the sky-blue colour of this Prada tea-length, embossed frock was lovely, the fit of the bodice seemed a bit odd. I’m not sure if it was her choker and Aldo ‘Milaa’ sandals, but I was also picking up on a subtle punk vibe that made the look feel a little disjointed.
