Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kate Mara attended the “Ides Of March” Toronto Film Festival Premiere held at Roy Thompson Hall on Friday.

The red-headed actress chose a pretty Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2011 dress.

Her sheer nude with a black tulle overlay is embellished with black paillettes.

Kate accessorized her look with a cream clutch and nude peep-toe heels.

The dress is really nice, but I find her basic accessories uninspiring.

She completed her look by wearing her auburn locks in a side fishtail braid.

Kate Mara attended the premiere of “Tanner Hall” in LA last night to show her support for sister Rooney Mara, who stars in the movie.

The actress chose a simple red wool crepe Prada Fall 2011 short sleeve dress.

She added to her look Prada Fall 2011 accessories, including a rust-coloured lurex button-detail clutch and a sexy pair of Prada Cammeo python heels.

Kate wore her fiery locks down in pretty curls and opted for lightly rimmed eyes and coral lips.

It’s a simple but classic look and I love how her accessories complement her hair.

Kate Mara joined a host of stars who attended the Miu Miu Presents Lucrecia Martel’s “Muta” event, which was held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, California last night.

It still really hard to shake Kate’s 2011 SAG Awards mishap, but with each subsequent red carpet appearance the horrific memory is closer to being fully erased – yes I’m still struggling to get over it 6 months on.

Kate looked divine wearing a Miu Miu Fall 2011 look.

It didn’t appear on the runway, but her blouse with a contrasting collar and daisy print mini skirt with an outside pocket bares all the hallmarks of the Miu Miu modern vintage collection.

With her red hair pulled back into a tight ponytail, Kate accessorizes with a purple Prada clutch and black Miu Miu pumps with a chunky heel.

Sandals would’ve been sweeter, but the pumps aren’t too bad I suppose.

Kate Mara topped many SAG Awards worst dressed lists, so she needed a great look to try to erase that dress from our memories.

The “127 Hours” actress went a long way to doing that by wearing a gorgeous Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2011 dress to the AARP’s ‘Movies For Grownups’ Awards, which was held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in LA this week.

Her silver/gold lurex dress is sexy and very glamorous.

I love her complementary accessories which included gold peep-toes and a Christian Louboutin satin clutch.

She made the right choice to go shorter with her dress anything longer would’ve been going into Nicole Kidman territory.

Worst Dressed Award
I wasn’t particularly blown away by the looks at the 2011 SAG Awards last night.

There were a lot of meh, just OK looks, but Kate Mara’s Herve Leger by Max Azria Spring 2011 gown caught my eye for all the wrong reasons.

I had a feeling this dress wouldn’t translate well off the runway, and that thought has been proved to right.

The dress makes her appear wider than she is and it’s very unflattering.

Her look was paired with a BCBG MAx Azria clutch.

Kate Mara was at The Academy in Beverly Hills last night for the “127 Hours” LA Premiere.

The actress wore a turquoise Peter Som Spring 2011 ultra mini dress.

Instead of wearing the sleeveless shirt like the model, Kate wore a beautiful Amrapali diamond collar necklace to give the look more sophistication.

My first thought was that her look needed a belt, but on reflection I think a stand out clutch and a matching cuff would’ve made this look more exciting.

The one thing I won’t knock are her ruby heels, despite the fact I wish they were strappy sandals instead of pumps.
