Who Wore Peter Pilotto Better Julianne Hough or Jennifer Hudson

Julianne Hough wore a Peter Pilotto Fall 2013 dress to the London Show Room LA event back in April. I gave her white pumps a pass, but the dress overwhelmed the actress’ petite frame.

Jennifer Hudson performed at the 30th Annual Walter Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner in the same dress. She styled the look with a black hat, tights and black Saint Laurent ankle booties.

The busy dress swallowed Julianne, so Jennifer’s stage look wins this one for me.

Julianne Hough In Bibhu Mohapatra - Extra

Julianne Hough made a guest appearance on ‘Extra’ yesterday afternoon in Universal City, California to promote her new movie, ‘Paradise’.

The actress/dancer wore a Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2013 ethnic-inspired fez-print dress with sculpted shoulders, solid inserts at the sides, and an asymmetrical layered skirt.

A sexy pair of sandals would’ve really lengthened her legs; however, she opted for a pair of ankle-strap pumps instead.

Signature wavy blonde tresses and a pretty pink lip shade completed her look.

Celebrities Love Plaid

No longer the symbol of an insipid school uniform or an uninspired flannel, plaid is again the cool kid on the block with celebrities everywhere staying in check with a hip-to-be-square style mentality.

The traditional red checkered pattern has been the leader of the resurgence, although some stars have stepped outside the box in favour of another colour combo.

Included among the tartan trendsters is Ciara, who was hipster-cool with a sporty red dress, tied up with a plaid shirt around her waist and custom knee-high, red Givenchy boots.

Kat Graham explored the cocktail side of the squared look with her sizzling Dolce & Gabbana frock. But it was Rita Ora who increasingly amped up the punk-funk appeal in a Karl Lagerfeld jacket-and-trousers ensemble, accessorized with even more quirk in a backwards baseball cap and statement shades and shoes.

Meanwhile, Maria Menounos took a tamer, more classic approach in a Zara navy mini-dress with zipper detail. The high-street frock was also worn by Olivia Palermo during Spring 2014 Paris Fashion Week.

And, Julianne Hough gave us a grungy-cool, street-style look with her Maje shirt, worn over a T-shirt and black skinny jeans.

Mad for plaid?

Julianne Hough In Marc Jacobs - QVC Presents 'FFANY Shoes On Sale'

Julianne Hough slinked onto the red (ahem, pink) carpet at the QVC Presents ‘FFANY Shoes on Sale’ gala, which was hosted by the Fashion Footwear Association of New York at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City on Tuesday.

The dancer-cum-actress brought on the drama in a Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 midnight-blue, backless gown, which she accessorized without the runway’s full-on fur but with a single tassel necklace.

The rich tones continued in her oxblood lip, with her asymmetrical, retro waves completing the vintage-glam effect.

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough took a major fashion risk when she hit the red carpet of the 2013 Emmy Awards.

The actress and former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ professional dancer wore a ethereal Jenny Packham Spring 2014 gown.

Julianne is a loyal devotee of designer Jenny Packham, and while the two usually create magic together, this one just doesn’t work for me.

The bare legs peek-a-boo effect just isn’t elegant, and I so wish there was a lining here, because everything else about this gown is perfection.

Julianne complemented her look with a Daniel Swarovski vintage crystal and pearl ‘Opus’ clutch, soft waves and glossy pink lips.

Julianne Hough In ASOS - The Hollywood Reporter’s Emmy Party

Julianne Hough was among the celebrity set who kicked off the Emmys weekend at The Hollywood Reporter’s Nominees Night party, hosted at SoHo House in Los Angeles, California yesterday evening.

The entertainer showed off her dancer’s legs in a pair of gold jacquard shorts from ASOS, one of the evening’s sponsors.

Dialing back the lookbook’s more dramatic, ornate styling, she dressed the shorts with a black halter top, barely-there sandals and a black clutch for an effortless-chic vibe.

Her shorter blonde locks were coaxed into a breezy updo, whilst a bronzed complexion and nude lip completed the picture.
