Gwyneth Paltrow In Valentino - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t take to the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12), but she was spotted inside enjoying the show alongside hubby Chris Martin.

The actress, who had attended Diane von Furstenberg’s Journey of a Dress Exhibition the day before, wore a Valentino Pre-Fall 2014 mini dress for the occasion.

Her look, featuring a shapeless aqua-and-gold brocade dress, limp hair and Valentino suede platform ankle-strap pumps, isn’t as glamorous as I wish it had been.

It all screams ‘I just couldn’t be bothered’ and makes her look rather frumpy.

Louise Roe In Monique Lhuillier - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Louise Roe gave use a double dose of Monique Lhuillier Spring gowns for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, which took place on Sunday (January 12) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

Golden Globe Awards: For the main event the TV presenter wore a pretty coral-hued long-sleeved crepe-and-Chantilly-lace Spring 2014 gown styled with side-swept wavy tresses and bedazzling accessories, including a Marchesa clutch, Chopard jewels and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Golden Globe After-Parties: Later that same evening Louise swapped one stunning Monique Lhuillier look for another, this time selecting a striking multi-coloured strapless Spring 2013 gown, keeping the same hairstyle but changing her diamond jewels for gold.

Of the two, the after-party gown is the grandstand gown and would’ve worked better for me for the main event. Do you agree?

Golden Globes Men 1Flexing their sartorial strength, the guys glammed up for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held last night (January 12) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Here, an overview of the handsome highlights.

Matthew McConaughey: The big victor in the best actor category, the ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ star was every bit a winner on the red carpet, too. His Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo featured a surprising emerald-green velvet blazer with contrasting black peak lapels, adding a swoon-worthy twist on the standard. His touch of scruff, meanwhile, was his way of putting a casual-cool spin on this formal entrance. His wife, Camila Alves, also shone rather brightly in a glittery, black Dolce & Gabbana gown that flaunted her enviable curves.

Chris Pine: Rocking the full beard, the actor embraced the classics with an impeccably tailored Ermenegildo Zegna Couture black, peak grosgrain lapel tuxedo, white dress shirt, and black bow tie. He finished the look with Tod’s black patent loafers and a David Yurman gold pinky ring.

Adèle Exarchopoulos In Miu Miu - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Adèle Exarchopoulos attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

Her pictures took a while to come in; only appearing on Getty late this morning.

The ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ actress, wore a Miu Miu midnight blue floor-length in classic silhouette, with an elegant high neck and elbow-length sleeves, was juxtaposed by a dramatic keyhole opening at the back.

Her gown was further enhanced by Swarovski crystals and paillettes, which offered a gradient effect to the base of the skirt and train.

Adele completed her look with Miu Miu accessories including silver laminated strappy sandals and a navy silk box clutch with a simple ponytail and pink pout providing the finishing touches.

Some of you have struggled to warm to her style, but this is her best look by a long mile. Do you agree?

Emma Stone In Chanel - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Emma Stone, who’s return to her favoured flame red hair colour, was noticeably missing in action during the red carpet arrivals at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

But the actress showed up later in the evening, taking the stage to present Woody Allen with the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.

Selecting a look from the Chanel Spring 2014 collection, Emma didn’t so much go for all-out glamour, as she did favour a more understated spin on casual, artsy luxe.

The raw-edge, short-sleeve top, embellished with all-over beading, was the fancier piece to this ensemble, which was finished with a black waistband-edged, translucent skirt with a front split and a filmy, lavender-grey sheen.

Worn with Christian Louboutin ‘Body Strass’ pumps, this may have not been the most fitting ensemble for the Golden Globes. But what do you make of her Chanel outing? Are you not surprised she skipped the red carpet?
