Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Julia Roberts In Valentino - 2014 SAG Awards

Julia Roberts looked vibrant on the red carpet at the 2014 SAG Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (January 18) in Los Angeles.

The ‘August: Osage County’ actress made an unexpected choice, opting for a hot pink, wide-leg Valentino jumpsuit with silver earrings and silver, a Roger Vivier ‘Secret Garden Maxi Boite de Nuit’ clutch, platform sandals. Maybe she was taking her inspiration from ‘American Hustle’.

Julia heavily favors black and white on the red carpet so I was thrilled to see her in this vibrant pink and she looked thrilled to be wearing it. It kills me that she’s a little saggy on top which, in turn, makes her look a little pouchy in the middle. With a little body tape it would have been flawless.

From the neck up Julia looks as gorgeous as always with tousled waves, a pink lip and her famous smile.

Although it wasn’t quite perfect, I think this will be a fan favorite. What did you think?

Julia Roberts In Juan Carlos Obando - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Julia Roberts attended the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica.

I’ve never been a fan of sunglasses on the red carpet, but on this occasion, my biggest objection is her Juan Carlos Obando gown.

Julia had been on such a great roll lately, finally regaining her red carpet mojo, so this is disappointing.

Even though most of you disliked her Dolce & Gabbana Golden Globes gown, I kind of liked it; this, I don’t like.

All in all, it’s too frumpy, not flattering, and way too long.

Get The Look Julia Roberts' 2014 Golden Globes Glamour Updo

Hairstylist Serge Normant created Julia Robert’s stunning sixties-inspired updo for the Golden Globe Awards. Serge emulated a modern take on a classic Sophia Loren look. Here is how to recreate Julia’s Globes glamour look for yourself.

On wet hair spray Serge Normant meta lush volumizer from roots to tips. Then create a side part low enough to give it more edge.

Blow dry your hair with a medium size brush, giving as much lift on the crown as possible.

Add Serge Normant meta revive dry shampoo, especially on the crown and in the back. It will help create texture and volume. Make sure you brush out all residue, if any.

Using a tail comb, tease hair, emphasizing the crown area and below it. Keeping a sixties-like volume on top, pull hair into a ponytail, tease it, spray it with Serge Normant meta luxe hair spray and wrap it on its base to create a bun. Then secure it with hair pins.

Work all the volume in a flattering way, adding more or less volume and pulling pieces here and there to give it a natural and loose touch. Using the Kerastase Initialise give a little separation and pieceiness on the front sweep – the more dramatic the better. Add more hair spray if necessary.

Julia Roberts walked the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) in Beverly Hills, California.

Nominated for her role in ‘August: Osage County’ it was an important red carpet moment for Julia, who was clad in Dolce & Gabbana.

Julia is one of my all time favorite red carpet beauties and I love that she’s into menswear-inspired styles these days, like this spot-on look. Though, this choice for the Golden Globes isn’t her best. The black and white combo looks fabulous on her, as always, and the strapless silhouette with simple lines and a sparkly belt look lovely. But oh that white button down shirt just distracts from it it all.

What I do love though is her textured, beehive bun, smokey eye makeup and nude lip.

I’m curious: is this a winning look in your book?

3rd Annual Sean Penn & Friends HELP HAITI HOME Gala Benefiting J/P HRO Presented By Giorgio Armani - Inside

Hollywood luminaries Goldie Hawn, Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow enjoyed time together at the 3rd Annual Sean Penn & Friends Help Haiti Home Gala hosted by Giorgio Armani at the Montage Hotel on Saturday (January 11) in Los Angeles, California.

Goldie Hawn: As usual, Goldie is Goldie, opting for a caftan-esque silhouette and fun tribal print. And she looks lovely. The print is fun and certainly unique, and the braided orange clutch and peep-toed black pumps are the perfect fashionable pairing for the dress. Simple makeup and a more polished-than-usual blowout complete the look.

Julia Roberts: Julia went classic with a simple, short-sleeved Valentino LBD and no accessories, but she added her own fashion quirkiness with a pair of Lanvin brogues. And while I don’t know if just anyone could have pulled off the shoe/dress pairing, I’m really taken with the fashion statement. Her barely there makeup and voluminous curls are signature Julia.

Gwyneth Paltrow: On the opposite side of the color spectrum, Gwyneth opted for a classic white Burberry dress in which she looks perfectly chic. A large envelope clutch and gorgeous metallic Christian Louboutin ‘Toboggan’ shoes are the perfectly complement, and her go-to sleek blonde locks and bright red lips are divine.
