Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael B. Jordan joined their leading ladies – Lizzy Caplan and Tessa Thompson respectively – on the red carpet for their LA premiere’s this week.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt: The actor is well regarded for this red carpet style, and this Dior Homme offering for ‘The Night Before’ premiere was yet another fashion homerun. The navy blue suit was styled with ‘CDH16’ logo ribbon detail on the chest pocket and Christian Louboutin ‘ Top Daviol’ shoes which added a touch of seasonal sparkle.

Michael B. Jordan: Taking to the red carpet for the ‘Creed’ premiere, the actor wore a Calvin Klein Collection silver suit which instantly grabbed my attention for its gritstone texture. Navy Christian Louboutin shoes and a Piaget timepiece completed his look. I have to say I keep going back and forth with this one. No doubt I’m applauding this bold style statement – Michael sure does know how to keep things interesting – but I think I prefer his Westwood look.

A handful of gentleman have been on the scene the past few days attending a range of premieres and photocalls.

Chiwetel Ejiofor: The actor was at the 53rd New York Film Festival for ‘The Martian’ premiere at Alice Tully Hall on Sunday (September 27). His tweedy Thom Sweeney three-piece suit added a sharp textural component to the standard-issue gray colourway.

Tom Hiddleston: For the ‘Crimson Peak’ premiere at UGC Cine Cite Bercy in Paris, France on Monday (September 28), Tom took a corporate-inspired approach in a saturated navy Polo Ralph Lauren ensemble. There was nothing so special about the suit, but it derived its power in the way the mix of blues enhanced his handsome gaze.

Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014 Menswear Roundup

Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014 Menswear Roundup 1With a myriad of menswear looks on the blue carpet, the guys mostly nixed the standard black suit in favour of more colourful options at the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California yesterday (March 1). Not that I was complaining.

Matthew McConaughey: Taking his flashy jackets to another level, the ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ actor and Best Male Lead winner wore an allover metallic bronze three-piece suite by Dolce & Gabbana. Skipping the tie, an unbuttoned black button-down shirt had nothing on those attention-grabbing, cobalt-blue Tod’s shoes. Do you like the razzle-dazzle here?

Jared Leto: Like Matthew, Jared picked up a win for his work in ‘Dallas Buyers Club.’ The actor-musician was dressed in his standard rocker-grunge edge wearing separates including a black leather biker Balmian Homme jacket and black skinny jeans. Of course, a shirt was tied around his waist—this time, a red plaid Saint Laurent one—and he topped off the look with a black-and-white striped scarf and black Giuseppe Zanotti combat boots.

Michael B Jordan: The always-sharp dresser didn’t disappoint in his cream-coloured Dolce & Gabbana suit, paired with a quirky printed button-down shirt, a black pocket square, black brogues and a rose-gold Piaget watch. The ‘Fruitvale Station’ actor always manages to combine sartorial polish with a punch of attitude.

Here is a quick look at some of the menswear looks from yesterday.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt: The actor looked very dapper attending the ‘Don Jon’ Paris premiere held at UGC Cine Cite Bercy in Paris, France yesterday evening wearing various shades of grey in this Dolce & Gabbana sleek suit. The look consisted of a micro-windowpane suit, striped shirt and printed tie. I love that he always fashionably supports his open-collaborative production company hitRECord with that red lapel pin.

Tom Hiddleston: The British actor attended the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ premiere held at Times Square in Seoul, South Korea opting for a classic Men-In-Black suit with a thin tie.

Matt Goss: The Bros lead man is back in the UK following years of success performing in Las Vegas. In my teens I was very much a Brosette so I am delighted to see him back in the UK, where he was signing copies of his latest album, ‘Life You Imagine’, at HMV in Oxford Street, London yesterday evening. He looked so very sharp wearing an ink-blue suit with a white button-down shirt, red-and-white striped socks and his signature hat tilted to the side.

Chiwetel Ejiofor: It was also all black for Chiwetel at the ’12 Years A Slave’ LA premiere, as the British actor donned a sleek three-piece suit.

Toronto Film Festival Menswear Roundup Part 2

Toronto Film Festival Menswear Roundup

Throughout the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, the men have brought their own sartorial statements—from guy-glam and cool-stud to handsome-hunk.

Daniel Radcliffe: The British actor was brave and bold in a deep purple David Hart suit at the ‘Kill Your Darlings’ premiere, held at Roy Thomson Hall. Boasting polish and pizzazz, with a contrasting striped white-and-blue-grey button-down and a dark mini-polka-dot tie, this look was plum-perfect.

Jake Gyllenhaal: The handsome actor wore a velvety Burberry Tailoring three-piece suit at the ‘Prisoners’ premiere at Ryerson Theatre. Offsetting the dark shade, a baby-blue shirt and navy tie brought out Jake’s own baby blues, whilst faded brown shoes contributed a rugged edge.

Ewan McGregor: Sauntering around with his suave flair, Ewan took a more casual approach in his Neil Barrett black blazer and pants at the ‘August: Osage County’ premiere at Roy Thomson Hall. He skipped the tie and put on a pair of lace-up shoes that had a distinct creeper mentality.
