‘Black Panther’ New York Screening Red Carpet Roundup

More ladies joined Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira for the final leg of the ‘Black Panther’ promo tour at the film’s New York screening on Tuesday (February 13).

Joan Smalls: In a head-to-toe Tom Ford Spring 2018 look, the model was giving us a power suit—done in such an alluring, modern way with the jumpsuit and blazer combo. I loved the subtle seduction of this look, with the pink toe-cap heels to add an element of sass.

Letitia Wright: The patchwork, folk-rock influences of the COACH Pre-Fall 2018 collection were loud and proud in this eclectic mashup of a look that is a bit of an acquired taste in its completely disparate, quirky pieces. I’m still trying to find the rhyme and reason to it.

Zosia Mamet: I liked the styling of this Monse Spring 2018 cropped sweater on the runway, with the fringed skirt. With the windowpane, super-long trousers, it made less sense. David Yurman jewels completed the look that had me wishing for a more cohesive flourish to round out the screening.

2018 amfAR Gala New York Red Carpet Roundup

The glamour was at a high at the 2018 amfAR Gala New York on Wednesday (February 7) where lovely ladies joined Lucy Hale, Olivia Culpo and Halsey.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese beauty had a princess moment in Armani Privé Spring 2006. The glistening tulle was accented with the embellished straps. You’ll be forgiven for thinking that the Chopard jewels were part of the original look as they coordinate so perfectly.

Joan Smalls: Forgoing the glitzy gown, the model donned a Dolce & Gabbana suit with John Hardy jewels. The stark black piping against the muted brocade fabric creates a dynamic display of contrasts, but I wish she saved this ensemble for another event. Against the high octane dresses, it feels a touch out of place.

Coco Rocha: Projecting slinky glamour, the Canadian model showcased the pockets on her Greta Constantine Pre-Fall 2018 dress. There are details aplenty on the gown so I was thankful she lost the coordinating gloves from the lookbook version.

Joan Smalls In Pamella Roland – ‘The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime’ New York Screening

Joan Smalls made a vivacious statement in red at the ‘The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime’ screening in New York City on Monday (December 11).

The model added some bold allure to suiting in a Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2018 ensemble. The sheer corset with visible boning gave the trousers and jacket a sexiness.

Wearing the jacket draped off the shoulders is a styling trick we have seen a lot of, but on this occasion, I think it would have been better worn traditionally to play up the contrasting elements of the ensemble.

John Hardy jewels were the striking finishing touch.

WSJ Magazine 2017 Innovator Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The WSJ Magazine 2017 Innovator Awards on Wednesday (November 1) in New York City were an elegant affair with many stylish attendees opting for an inky colour palette.

Naomi Campbell: Despite the asymmetrical proportions of her Jean Paul Gaultier Couture outfit, methinks many will be focused on the chain facial jewellery. She went for a show-stopping look, but I wish there were a few less accessories so we could better appreciate the way the dress merges into trousers.

Gwyneth Paltrow:
Donning Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018, the actress tempered a sleek white and black dress with an oversized black blazer. I’m sure many will describe this as shapeless, but I found the proportions refreshing. What’s more, I appreciate the way she carried it off with a relaxed elegance.

Maddie Ziegler:
The dancer struck a pose in a slinky Tommy Hilfiger slip dress which was enlivened by gold zigzags and inky sequined diamonds on the hem. The gold lace-up shoes tied in the frock’s detail while adding a fun element that was appropriate for her 15 years.

11th Annual God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards

Femmes came out in force for the 11th Annual God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards on Monday (October 16) in New York City. As Michael Kors was one of the co-chairs, there were a number of looks from the designer in the house.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Receiving the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service, the minimalist-loving actress upped the shine quotient in her sparkly Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018 sequin frock—and even gave us a rare look at wavy locks. You may remember seeing this dress on the Red Carpet Wish List for Michelle Pfeiffer.

Gabrielle Union: This Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018 suiting offered up a safari-chic twist on the menswear-inspired trend.

Kate Hudson: Oozing with pure and simple seduction, this custom crimson beaded asymmetrical Michael Kors Collection dress was a knockout on Kate. She really didn’t even need the contrast of the Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch to accessorize, as I love the way her nude pumps vanished from view and left her dress to take top billing.

Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

The list of lovelies at Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ on Friday (September 8) in New York City was seemingly unending, as a number of stars joined Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, and Kim Kardashian.

Gigi Hadid: Her hyper-embellished Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 ensemble, styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, was so intricate and powerful of a statement that it really didn’t require the rhinestone clogs.

Kaia Gerber: Cindy Crawford’s model daughter was all grown up in a slinky Kristian Aadnevik Fall 2017 mini that had her looking like her mom more and more.

Kendall Jenner: There was little left to the imagination in this Dolce & Gabbana ruched, sheer number. Yet, ironically in spite of the see-through, I couldn’t help but still get a certain sophisticated, glam vibe with the look, which I will chalk up to its silhouette along with Kendall’s Old-Hollywood waves, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Front Row @ Miu Miu Cruise 2018 Show

The front row at the Miu Miu Cruise 2018 show, held during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week on Sunday (July 2), was chock-full of Miu Miu-donning darlings—each embracing the quirky charm of the label in their own unique way.

Elle Fanning: Looking every bit like a modern-day Miu Miu princess, Elle masterfully wore a precious look from the Fall 2017 collection that got its sweet edge from the explosion of oversized paillettes and magpie-worthy embellishment. What better, then, than a pearl-encrusted headband—a modern girl’s tiara, of course—to top off her ballerina bun.

Alexa Chung: With a more traditional edgy offering in play, Alexa wore another interpretation of scintillating sequins in this silvery-gray frock topped off with a studded, leather moto jacket. Of course, it was the embellished buckle footwear in schoolgirl plaid that really put the look into the realm of signature Miu Miu quirk.

Teresa Palmer: While there would be no sparkling embellishment to speak of in Teresa’s look, the whimsical cherry print more than made up for it in this vintage-inspired, ruffle frock. The styling lent itself even more to the eccentric Miu Miu twist with costume-y bauble earrings, a seemingly out-of-place blue purse, and glittery platform heels each playing unusual companions whilst elevating the dress’s twee spirit.
