Red Carpet Fashion Awards

BDOTW 21 July

Jessica Chastain was crowned best dressed this week for her gorgeous Mary Katrantzou backless shimmering gown closely followed by Kate Hudson in Michael Kors.

For the guys, you voted for the Beckhams, while I gave my vote to the very dapper Colin Firth in Dolce & Gabbana.

Jessica Chastain Mary Katrantzou - 'The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby' Ischia Global Film + Music Festival Premiere

Jessica Chastain was a vision of gorgeousness while attending the gala premiere of ‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby’ held during the Ischia Global Film + Music Festival in Italy on Monday (July 14), further fuelling my obsession with her style.

She stunned wearing an inky-navy-blue Mary Katrantzou Fall 2014 ‘Cassandra’ lamé gown featuring a paisley print which starts on the bodice before cascading down both sides of the backless gown.

Accented with a gold leather belt, I would imagine the gold Charlotte Olympia shoes she wore the day before were also worn here.

With her new bangs framing her gorgeous face, she enhanced her eyes with blue eye makeup which also complemented her frock.

Many said that her Dolce & Gabbana dress was not a great return to the red carpet, especially when debuting her new bangs, so how does this look fare?

I am filing this as a possible BDOTY contender… As always, she floors me.

Jessica Chastain In Nonoo - Out In Ischia

Jessica Chastain looked effortless and chic while taking a boat ride with her boyfriend Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo in Ischia, Italy during some downtime while attending the 2014 Ischia Global Film and Music Festival.

Jessica wore a Nonoo Resort 2015 all-white look, donning a cropped knit tee with sheer panels and a midi skirt which also featured a sheer panel at the hemline.

Accessories included a pair of white-trimmed shades, a salmon-coloured tote and dual-colour metallic-gold and black flats.

While I love the fresh feel of this look, especially when she later channels her inner ’60s screen siren and adds a chic black and white printed scarf, the footwear doesn’t gel so well with the rest of the look for me.

Jessica Chastain In Dolce & Gabbana - Ischia Global Film & Music Fest 2014

Jessica Chastain joined Freida Pinto for the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest 2014 on Saturday (July 12) in Ischia, Italy.

Giving her bangs their red carpet debut, the actress wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress designed to highlight the waist as well as dazzle you with colour-blocking plus a fiery chili and floral print.

Jessica’s vibrant dress, which she styled with gold Charlotte Olympia stacked sandals and opulent Dolce & Gabbana ruby and gold earrings, couldn’t be more perfect for a summer’s evening.

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy Couture - amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala

Jessica Chastain attended the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France this evening (May 22).

Opting for a quiet elegance, the actress wore a custom Givenchy Couture black strapless gown.

The lightly pleated gown with a structured bodice was enhanced with a stunning diamond-encrusted leaf-shaped necklace.

Do you like this look, or was it one too many black gowns during this festival for you?

Chanel & Vanity Fair France Dinner Party
With the fashionable force of celebrities in town for the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival in France, no better time for another starry party. Chanel and ‘Vanity Fair’ took the opportunity to fete the occasion on Tuesday (May 20) with a dinner at the beachfront restaurant, Tetou, where a bevy of Chanel-clad beauties were on the scene.

Lily Allen: The British singer-songwriter was dressed in a blue tweed frock with glittery embroidery from the Chanel Spring 2012 Couture collection, which she paired with (not pictured) gunmetal metallic pumps. The classic silhouette received a punchy accent via the embellished cold-shoulder sleeves and patchwork hemline. While her blue pendant earrings may have been unnecessary given the glitz of the dress, the yellow Chanel clutch was definitely a questionable blot on this look.

Jessica Chastain: Whereas Lily went for shine, Jessica kept her look on a more subtle level, donning a Chanel Resort 2014 white tweed dress with pockets. From her flame-red locks to her barely-there makeup and natural nails, this was the embodiment of au naturel styling. We can’t see if her shoes added a spark, but were you bored, or did you appreciate her breezy, effortless beauty?
