Jessica Alba In Lela Rose – SELF Luncheon

Jessica Alba In Lela Rose - SELF Luncheon

Jessica Alba attended the SELF Luncheon on Tuesday (October 14) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a two-piece Lela Rose Spring 2015 look consisting of an embellished trapeze top with a rose-pink ombre polka-dot skirt, which on paper I should love – but I don’t.

For me the pieces are nice but shouldn’t have been worn together.

Put the top with a great pair of black cropped high-waist cigarette pants or the skirt with a solid cami and either way I may have been on board.

I can see why she wore the runway look, as the model made it work – perhaps being taller enabled that.

Get The Look: Jessica Alba’s Global Citizen Festival Hair & Makeup

2014 Global Citizen Festival In Central Park To End Extreme Poverty By 2030 - VIP LoungeCelebrity makeup artist Quinn Murphy and celebrity hairstylist Rebekah Forecast worked with Jessica Alba for the 2014 Global Citizen Festival on Saturday (27 September).

Makeup artist Quinn Murphy shared the inspiration behind Jessica’s look: “To complement Jessica’s black Edun dress, I focused her look around black eyeliner while keeping the rest of the makeup bronze and warm. It was 80 degrees in Central Park so a sun-kissed coral look was unseasonably appropriate.”

Here’s how to get the look.
After prepping her skin with moisturizer, Quinn used Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base to create a smooth surface and add lasting power to the makeup. After applying RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up in Shade 44, Quinn next applied Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #9 using a damp Beautyblender sponge.

Using the NARS Multiple in Vientiane, Quinn framed her face before applying the bronze cream on the edges of her face to create dimension – under the cheekbones, temples, and under the jawline.

Quinn applied the same NARS bronzer to the centre of her eyelids and blended it upward and out. Next, Estee Lauder Black Gel Eyeliner was applied along the top lash line, making the line thicker on the outer edges and giving it a flick for a cat-eye effect, before applying Armani Eyes to Kill Black Mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

Quinn then used NARS Powder Blush in Deep Throat on the apples of the cheeks before using NARS Powder Bronzer in Casino to subtly contour the cheekbones. It’s softer than a traditional taupe contour shade.

On her lips a sheer peachy-bronze lipstick that was Jessica’s own completed the look.

Rebekah Forecast also shared her inspiration: “My inspiration for Jessica’s hair was the music festival itself. Cool rock chic with a little bit of punk – hence the braid, giving the effect of a buzzed side. I also wanted a high pony to look young and effortless.”

Here’s how to get the look.

Rebekah began with wet hair, applying a volumizing spray at the roots to help create texture and volume. She blow dried the hair with a diffuser to keep the natural movement in the length and ends, but smoothed out the hairline.

Once the hair was dry, she sprayed the whole head with a small amount of dry shampoo to give a second-day feel. This also helps to get a good grip on the hair when pulling it into a high ponytail. She then used a brow mascara on the hair line to tame any flyaways.

Once the ponytail was secured, she sprayed a bit of thermal spray and used a flat iron to create irregular waves throughout the hair. The spray gave the hair great hold as she knew Jessica was going to be outside all day and touch ups would not be possible.

Jessica Alba In Edun – 2014 Global Citizen Festival

Jessica Alba In Edun - 2014 Global Citizen Festival

Jessica Alba attended the 2014 Global Citizen Festival held in Central Park on Saturday (September 27) in New York City.

As you know, I was very inspired by Jessica Alba’s style for New York Fashion Week.

Much like Anna Wintour, I would never do head-to-toe black, but I do love the ponyskin wrap belt which prevents this Edun Spring 2015 dress from being too mundane.

The sleeveless LBD could’ve benefited for some killer booties and going sans tights, but this was a rock and roll event, so the look is just find as is.

Flawless makeup and a selection of jewels, including an ear cuff, completed her look.

Jessica Alba In Roland Mouret – The Honest Company Ultra Clean Room Unveiled at The Mount Sinai Hospital

Jessica Alba In Roland Mouret - The Honest Company Ultra Clean Room Unveiled at The Mount Sinai Hospital
Jessica Alba was at the Honest Company ‘Ultra Clean Room’ unveiling at Mount Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday (September 10) in New York City.

The actress was pretty in ultra-pink, selecting a magenta Roland Mouret dress that perfectly conveyed the impeccable, figure-grazing structure and folded detail that are hallmarks of the designer.

The approachable-chic look may be somewhat familiar, but it was well-suited to the occasion and those metallic pumps and bangles brought a layer of additional spunk, as did her bright smile and naturally radiant makeup.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Jessica Alba In Zac Posen

Best Dressed Of The Week - Jessica Alba In Zac Posen

Jessica Alba faced some stiff competition from Michelle Dockery in Zac Posen and Alexa Chung in Burberry Prorsum to become the eventual winner for best dressed this week.

Usually my BDOTY list if full of gowns, however, this electric-blue peplum dress was so good it may just find a spot on said list at the end of the year.

This dress was that good.

Get The Look: Jessica’s Alba’s Glamorous Rocker Hair

Premiere Of Dimension Films' "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" - Red CarpetCelebrity hairstylist Davy Newkirk worked with Jessica Alba for the LA premiere of ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’.

“Jessica’s gorgeous, form-fitting, electric-blue Zac Posen dress had a classic silhouette, so I thought that glamorous rocker hair would be a great contrast” said Davy.

Here’s how to get the look.

Davy began by prepping Jessica’s wet hair with Honest Conditioning Mist, then sprayed Alterna Bamboo Beach Summer Ocean Waves Tousled Texture Spray throughout the hair and rough-dried it, utilizing the natural texture.

He then used a large round brush around her face and then created a centre part.

Next, he lightly brushed the hair with a Mason Pearson Brush and took a small amount of Alterna Bamboo Form Sculpting Clay and ran it through random pieces for added texture.

The look was finished off with a few sprays of Alterna Bamboo Anti-Humidity Spray.
