Chloe Sevigny was definitely the poster girl for Miu Miu this weekend.

We saw her Spring 2010 look yesterday, this time she wore one of those plunging Miu Miu dress with a built in bra from the Fall 2009 collection.

As much as I like the dress, it’s not really working for me on Chloe.  The previous kooky look fitted her style more than this embellished dress.

Zoe Saldana opted for a colour-block dress from the same collection which doesn’t work either.

Surprisingly the only thing I like here are the berry tights.

I just wish she’d done more with her hair.  It looks very limp here.

Christina Ricci can do sassy and she can do demure.

The beautiful actress opted for a silver Prada dress with an embellished detail on the shoulder.

Ginnifer Goodwin is looks absolutely adorable in this ivory dress adorned with black rosette details.

Simple, but as always oh so chic.

We’re starting to notice a pattern forming with Jessica Alba.

Simple black - or in this case navy - dresses that neither excite, nor delight.

There is nothing wrong with going au natural, but there is a time and a place.

Note to Jessica Biel: the red carpet is not the place.

Please apply some make-up to warm you up a bit.

It bad enough that you are sucking the life out of this dress - which is your trademark - but please a bit of blusher next time.

I beg you.

November 16th, 2009

This event has got to be one of the Best Dressed events I’ve ever seen, as everyone made a magnificent effort.

I’ve never been one to go gaga over Chloe Sevigny, but I absolutely LOVE her in this Miu Miu Spring 2010 dress.

It’s something only the likes of Chloe and Zooey Deschanel could pull off without looking like a grown woman dressing childishly.

Her bejewelled turtle neck dress is so playful and dainty, plus I love her neutral accessories which complement her dress well.

*Sighs*

Kate Beckinsale blew me away at this event.

I love the way her midnight green asymmetrical Andrew GN Spring 2010 gown appears to snake around her toned body.

The draping is magnificent, the embellished belt and shoulder detail adds texture and the look is pulled together with an elegant updo.

This is one of my favourite looks from Kate, who completed the look with a black Jenny Packham Baguette clutch.

Christina Ricci wasn’t brave enough to wear the runway version of this Prada Spring 2010 cloque baby doll dress, but she settled on a forest green modified version which she accented with a silver waist band.

Christina isn’t shy at taking risks, but baring her panties at this event wouldn’t have been quite appropriate.

Is it me or does Christina change her hair colour every time she hits the red carpet?

Jessica Alba’s also opted for a Prada Spring 2010 cloque halter dress.

Looking at the closet match to the runway, I would have preferred her to have worn the runway look as it’s far more interesting.

Red satin Prada heels and a red velvet Prada Velluto Sere clutch from the Fall 2009 collection complete this rather tame look.

It looks like what we saw on the Prada and Miu Miu Spring 2010 runway’s may not be exactly what we will see in the boutique’s.

Eva Mendes’ Miu Miu Spring 2010 black and beige dress, takes the jewel embroidered detail from the runway look to perfect her sexy sheath dress.

I adore her look, especially the hair accessory which adds a bit of pizazz to her classy updo.

The edgier runway version wouldn’t have quite worked for her.

Normally I can match a dress to a celebrity the moment I see it on the runway, which also helps me memorize runway looks.

This Marchesa Spring 2010 embroidered black tulle gown with draped sleeves looks like it was made for Shirley Manson, despite that fact that I would never have consider her for this stunning gown.

The singer gives the gown a romantic Gothic vibe I don’t believe Georgina Chapman was going for, but Shirley really works this look.

Daisy Fuentes saw the magic which Gustavo Cadile created for Catherine Zeta-Jones last week, and created it for herself wearing one of his luscious gowns.

I love the amethyst colour of her Spring 2009 halter chiffon gown, which is slightly modified from the runway as hers has jeweled straps.

This would’ve been the reason she pulled back her hair, so we could see that stunning detail.

Last week Lady GaGa and Carine Roitfeld opted for risque looks from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2010 collection, but Gwen Stefani opted for something less revealing.

The singer walked the red carpet with her husband wearing a white bustier with a black lace trim, paired with tapered pants from the same collection.

Sexy strappy sandals completed her look.

I keep looking at Zoe Saldana’s strapless Marchesa Spring 2010 tulle column gown with sequin detail and keep thinking that something is missing.

I think a waist band, either contrasting or the same colour of the gown would have given her more of a defined waist.

The actress carried a black Jenny Packham Lipstick clutch to complete her look.

I’m so thankful Carine Roitfeld removed all those OTT silver embellishments from her Balmain Spring 2009 as they were overkill.

The dress is much more appealing without all that bling, and I’m a girl who love a bit of bling.

Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre 120 thigh-high boots complete this effortless look.

Unlike most of the others on this red carpet, Kate Bosworth doesn’t really rock my world.

Her animal print Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 dress is nice enough, but she could’ve blown us away with much more interesting pieces from this collection.

I will always love how Rose McGowan always gives us va-va-voom.

Jessica Rabbit eat your heart own.

Rose’s red Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2009 gown is so sensual and divine.

Of course she adds a red lip to her look.

My only criticism is that she would have looked a hell of a lot better with her hair pulled back.

Fashionista Liz Goldwyn always likes to wear the unexpected.

Her fruity watermelon Sonia Rykiel Spring 2010 jumpsuit was paired with a dazzling pair of heels from the same collection.

Miuccia Prada makes her self designed Prada Spring 2010 dress more wearable, by adding a shirt dress under her chandelier-styled crystal embroidered dress.

Carey Mulligan was also wearing Prada, like so many others.

The Oscar hopeful donned a heavily embroidered Prada Spring 2010 dress paired with shoes with a clear heel from the same collection.

She just keeps getting it right. I predict hope she blows us away this coming Awards season.

One person who never lets me down on the red carpet is Marisa Tomei.

I’m just loving this burst of colour.

The actress wore a 1950s Jean Desses Haute Couture bubble-gum pink cocktail dress from Decades Inc.

Boucheron jewels and a Leiber purse complete this outstanding look.

This is one I will come back to drool over again and again.

Rachel Zoe opted for a one-shouldered Pucci gown

Ciara might have been wearing those fierce Christian Louboutin studded pigalle’s but the rest of her look is really disappointing.

When so many stepped outside the box, or wowed us with drama and colour Ciara’s look is very blah and uninspired.

Mr & Mrs Snoozeville were there also.

She was wearing Armani Prive.

Out & About, New York

Rihanna may have worn her Stéphane Rolland Spring 2009 Couture gown on the red carpet at the 2009 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, but inside she did a quick change into this stunning Jasmine di Milo Spring 2010 gown.

The ombre silk tulle gown is divine with it’s sexy thigh-high split and gathered details on the hips.

Many of you didn’t think she could carry off the previous gown, but think she rocked both.

Royal Rajasthan Gala, London

There was a time when I had nothing nice to say about Sigourney Weaver, but she continues to impress.

From her previous Donna Karan gown, to this stunning ruby Naeem Khan Fall 2009 draped satin one- shoulder gown with jeweled trim bodice which I simply adore.

At present she can currently do no wrong.

“A Magical Evening” Gala, New York

I’m still catching my breathe from looking at the stunning Selita Ebanks on this red carpet.

She looks like an angel wearing a white one-shouldered J.Mendel Pre-Fall 2009 gown, which has had its second outing on the red carpet.

BDOTW contender for sure.

Jane Krakowski chose a one shouldered grey embroidered Christian Cota Fall 2009 dress.

I like the dress, especially the embroidered detail, but I’m not sure it quite works on Jane.

She’s quite broad shouldered so this look isn’t particularly flattering.

Montblanc 9th Annual 24 Hr Plays on Broadway After Party, New York

Emmy Rossum is wearing a lot of black lately, but her black jacquard J. Mendel Fall 2009 sleeveless dress which has been modified from the runway is stunning.

She pairs her dress with t-bar heels, I just wish she also wore the runway belt.

“Exposed: 10 Years In Hollywood Book Launch Party”, LA

This isn’t my favourite look on Jessica Alba by any means.

She doesn’t breathe any life into her Narciso Rodriguez Resort 2010 black and white dress which she pairs with Christian Louboutin Lady Page pumps.

MTV’s “It’s On With Alexa Chung”, New York

Rihanna strikes a pose at the MTV Studios after her interview on Alexa Chung’s show, which you can watch by here

I thought it was quite appropriate that Rihanna was seeing Alexa wearing ankle boots, as Alexa is the Queen of ankle boots.

Rihanna paired her boots with an Alexander McQueen asymmetric-stripe sweater dress which we’ve seen on Cheryl Cole.

Eva Mendes looked incredibly chic wearing a lavender Christian Dior Resort 2010 polka dot dress, worn with a cute white bow accented belt.

She could’ve been obvious and paired her dress with white accessories like the runway, but she instead wore dove grey heels and carried a silver clutch.

Jessica Alba wore a very simple Prada Resort 2010 dress, but I really love this look.

She’s making me eat my words about “boring black dresses” because she looks outstanding.

Bow accented heels and flawless make-up complete this stunning look and have me keeping this look in consideration for BDOTW.

Jordana Brewster was another favourite.  She was very much on the opposite end of the colour spectrum wearing a creme and ultramarine Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2009 dress.

I love the flutter detail around the arm openings, but the shoes are too clunky for this dress.

The runway shoes would have been too matchy matchy, but I would have preferred them to what Jordana is currently wearing.

*Sighs*

I hope Camilla Belle continues to never have a day off looking fabulous.  It would be a very sad day indeed.

Some of you may think what’s the big deal, she’s just wearing a Jason Wu blue dress.

I’d say look at her, she’s naturally glowing.  Her accessories complement her stunning pleated dress.  Not a single hair is out of place and her make-up is flawless.

Yes she should’ve ditched the fringed bag for this picture, but it’s a small detail when everything else looks so perfect.

Most celebrities grow out of their obsessions, but Diane Kruger is still loving her black bows.

This was evident from her bow accented blue blouse which she wore with navy shorts.

For most this would only be acceptable as an off-duty look, but Diane can stand shoulder to shoulder with Eva Mendes in her Dior dress and still look equally chic.

That’s why we all adore her.

October 19th, 2009

It’s a upsetting trend but some stars are skipping the red carpet for some events.

Jessica Alba was one of those stars who we only saw on stage at this event.

I guess she skipped the red carpet because she was presenting the award for ‘Most Anticipated Fantasy Movie’ to actor Johnny Depp.

A girl’s got to get ready for that moment.

Jessica looked beautiful wearing a Lanvin black floral metallic lame ¾ sleeve dress with draped detailing on the shoulder.

From head-to-toe this is the best I have seen her in a long while.

Despite being the new face of Armani underwear Megan Fox seems to love Martin Grant.

This is the second time she has worn a dress from the Paris based Australian designer.

Her red haltered Martin Grant Spring 2010 dress wraps and drapes around her toned body, as she sports a classic updo.

Anna Paquin walked on stage to accept her award for ‘Best Horror Actress’ wearing the same Marc Jacobs duchesse satin zip-embellished dress which Anne Hathaway wore to the Costume Institute Gala earlier this year.

Kate Bosworth opted for a sexy nude Alexander Wang Spring 2010 bandage dress, which she paired with leopard print heels.

Isabel Lucas is wearing a very detailed black and gold embroidered Chanel Resort 2010 mini dress, but with her newly lighten locks I just can’t help but be dumbstruck by her eyebrows.

Had I not read that this was Jamie King, I would never have recognised her.

The hair, dress and make-up are not what we would normally expect to see from Jamie who usually fades into the background.

She was front and center at this event wearing a nude Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 tiered asymmetric mini dress, which has been modified from the runway.

Love the dress, and the heavier make-up is different, but the hair is a big no-no.

Christina Ricci is always totally captivating on the red carpet, no matter what she wears.

Even her hair is quite fascinating as she changes again from light brunette to this raven colour.

She showed-off her legs wearing a Jasmine di Milo Fall 2009 dress with cut-out detailing on the yoke, paired with YSL Trib Two patent platform heels.

Olivia Munn showed off her tanned pins wearing a blue French Connection long sleeved fitted dress.

I love how this colour pops.

Victoria Justice looks like she has grown a few inches.

The Zoey 101 star was totally decked out head-to-toe in Rock & Republic.

Her look cute included wearing a Rock & Republic’s “Patricia” v-neck mini dress with leather and sheer chiffon trim paired with Rock & Republic’s “Brooklyn” military-inspired leather jacket in deep purple, and “Leena” peep toe ankle booties and “Newport” clutch in black.

September 25th, 2009

I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever for someone to wear something from the Prada Fall 2009 collection, since Eva Mendes wore a look from the collection back in March.

Jessica Alba has fulfilled that wish by wearing a red velvet floral dress, but what the lord gives with one hand he takes away with the other and those thick black opaques kinda dull the excitement.

Nicole Kidman has been M.I.A. on the red carpet for a long while.

She returned in her favourite designer wearing a black fitted L’Wren Scott lacquered tweed dress with red peep-toes.

At this point I’m just grateful that the dress is not white.

Remember that rather crazy phase?

The Stella McCartney Resort 2010 collection keeps going strong.

This time Naomi Watts wears a black cropped jacket from said collection with a white shirt and black pants.

Georgina Chapman has been accused by many of you for not shaking things up.

Well this is the 3rd time she has worn something not directly off her runway, which will hopefully please you non-believers.

I think her dress was modified from the purple strapless Marchesa Resort 2010 dress, as it has a very similar shape.

The pops of fuschia pink are cute and sassy.

Stunning as always.

I’ve run out of nice things to say about her.

CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi hosted the event looking gorgeous wearing a Giambattista Valli Fall 2009 peacock print coat/dress.

Why celebrities haven’t worn anything from this stunning collection still baffles me.

Uber models Naomi Campbell and Iman struck a pose together.

Naomi wore an angelic white Azzedine Alaïa dress and Azzedine Alaia python & patent strappy heels, whilst Iman opted for more colour wearing a mustard pencil dress which shows that she’s still got it.

September 17th, 2009

The Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2010 collection was a lot softer in comparison to his Fall 2009 urban warrior collection.

We saw optical prints, sleeveless tops, tulip shaped coats and cocktail dresses.

Many of the pieces had rounded hems which was an interesting twist. There was subtle layering and sleek silhouettes.

The colour palette consisted of mostly neutrals or black, with purple and silver included also.

My favourite pieces were the finale gowns which were very simple.

The tank-style gowns had a shorter hemline in front and a flowing back. When it caught the wind of the runway the dress billowed and moved so graciously.

Jessica Alba was the last celebrities to arrive at her seat and the photographers went wild.

How celebrities cope with those flash bulbs is beyond me.

She wore a bubble hemmed mini dress, with a black sequined top and a starry midnight sky skirt.

I’m not sure if they were expecting her to do something crazy but Courtney Love got the most flashbulbs.

Maybe the photographers just wanted to get a close up of the satin details on her Narciso Rodriguez black viscose dress.

Emmy Rossum looked really cute in her Fall 2009 halter dress, with an edgy army fatigue print on the bodice.

She was in the front row with her stylist and right in my eye line, so every now and then I would see her saying to her stylist “That’s cute”.

So we should expect to see Emmy wearing Narciso Rodriguez pieces in the future on the red carpet.
