Corey Lynn Calter Fall Debut, LA

Christina Ricci is wearing Corey Lynn Calter to her fall debut in LA. The black halter and shoes make her look sophisticated, but the tattoo on her left wrist keeps her bad girl edge.

No wonder Victoria Beckham changed her hairstyle if people like Jenna Jameson were copying her style.

ShoWest Convention, Las Vegas

Jennifer Lopez never looks less than perfect to me. Here she is working the crowd at the ShoWest convention this week. She wearing a silk cream blouse, black high-waisted pants, which I must try and a patent belt. The only downside is that she had bring her husband with her who is guaranteed to ruin any photo.

Kirsten Dunst was also at the convention to accept the ShoWest ‘Female Star of the Year Award’. She has managed to put her Oscar disastrous dress behind her by looking amazing here in this figure hugging black dress.

Emma Roberts was also there to collect the ShoWest ‘Female Star of Tomorrow’ Award. She also opted for a safe black halter neck dress.

She look familiar you are thinking…..the big hair and wide mouth….mmm….and the surname Roberts….???

Yes she is the niece of Julia Roberts and the resemblance is uncanny. Emma will star in the upcoming film Nancy Drew. I was a big fan of the book so I am very interested in watching the film.

Rosario Dawson is a beautiful woman, so it kills me that she occasionally dresses so badly. Case and point the pictures above. What is this? Is this a joke?? Is she looking for a part on the next Star Trek Movie??? LOVE the shoes but I can not say anything nice about this get up.

Here she is again with her equally badly dressed gal pal Rose McGowan.

300 Premiere, London

Lena Headey looks amazing in this baby blue dress. It would have been a very cold night in London so much respect to her.

Here she is in the warmth with her hot co-star Gerard Butler.

British model Danielle Lloyd was also in attendance at the premiere. She looks beautiful in this floor length halter neck gown with a diamante clutch.

The Lavender Trust Speakeasy Party, London

This is Thandie Newton’s second themed outing of the week, and again she looks fabulous. She is not a skinny as she was last year and this silk white gown hangs beautifully on her. I love the wild hair and the bright make-up for this ‘Speakeasy’ themed event.

How do you dress ‘Speakeasy’? Well Speakeasy was an underground club during the prohibition period of 1920s America, so think Flappers and Gangsters. Thandie is every bit the modern Millie.

Emma Thompson is working the ‘Speakeasy’ theme in this flapper costume trimmed with sequins and a feather headband to match.

Is it me or does Sophie Dahl always look the same? Tight bodice or corset to show how slim she is…yawn. Nice clutch though.

Is Lily Cole lost or could she just not be bothered to make a effort? I think the latter.

My Supermodel 80’s idol Christy Turlington. Here she is showing the younger generation of so called “Supermodels” (see above) what glamour is all about. Perfection.

Does Sienna have a home?

I love this dress it is slightly modern for the ‘Speakeasy’ theme but works well all the same.

Suka Restaurant Opening, London

She is a very busy girl isn’t she? Here is Thandie Newton looking fabulous AGAIN for the 3rd time this week wearing Zac Posen. This chiffon black dress with leopard print shoes are a perfection combination.

Carmen Electra Hosts Head To Hollywood Night, Los Angeles

I have never been a fan of white tops were the black garment underneath is showing…it is tacky. The white top is the only part of this outfit that ruins the overall ensemble.

Kim Kardashian looks very nice here in this silk green dress with embellishments on the hem line. I am not a fan of here by any means, but I like to give credit where credit is due.

Does Tara Conner have to wear that sash everywhere? Hate the bangs.

Here is Jennifer Lopez looking very happy with herself.

I love Jennifer Lopez, she is ‘glowing’ in this dress, it’s as if the sun came out just for her. Her outift head to toes is just beautiful.

I want those shoes.

Worst Dressed Female - Kirsten Dunst in Chanel Haute Couture. There is too much going on with this dress with the feathers and embellishment….blah

Worst Rule Breaker Award - Meryl Streep never follows any Red Carpet rules and it shows here.

Should Have Known Better Award - Anne Hathaway in Valentino. The black bow ruins what may have been a great dress.

Worst Senior Award - Patricia Fields. Too much red going on.

Most Disappointing Award - Cameron Diaz in Valentino Haute Couture. I was expecting much more after her last disappointing outing to the Golden Globes

Worst Male Award - Eddie Murphy. Is that a navy Suit Jacket and black trouser? If it is that is a NO No no nooo way.

Most Bizarre Award - Jennifer Hudson in Oscar De La Renta. Great designer choice as she was destined to go home with the Oscar. Great dress and the colour suited her well but what was the gold cropped hideous jacket? I was praying to goodness she would just take it off and stamp on it. It looked awkward and she in it.

Most Pregnant Looking But Not Award - Jennifer Lopez in Marchesa. Now I applaud Mrs Marc Anthony for opting for old school glamour but this dress left her looking like she was 7 months pregnant. The top was great but when panned down all I felt was utter disappointment.

Worst in Photo but Great on Screen Award - Maggie Gyllenhaal in Proenza Schouler. I was shocked when I saw this dress in a photo because it looked great on screen and in motion.

Worst Use of Colour Award - Gwyneth Paltrow in Zac Posen. A lot of people are torn on this dress from reading various blogs. I like the style and the idea but not the colour on Gwynnie. I would have preferred a darker colour but if she had gone darker I would have accused her of playing it too safe. She could not win.

Nice Front Shame About The Back Award - Keisha Whitaker in this gorgeous yellow dress….I was thinking wow she outshines Forest….and then she turned around…Big disappointment.

Too Fussy/Worst Lace Wig Award - Beyonce Knowles in Armani. Don’t you just hate it when you see people fussing over their dress for whatever reason? Beyonce dress seemed to have a mind of it’s own as it kept gaping to reveal her leg and she kept pulling it back…*eye roll* don’t you test drive these things first. The hair…? I don’t need to say anymore the colour alone will take up too much time.

You Ruined It Award - Rachel Weisz in Vera Wang. She had a perfectly good dress with enough bling and sparkle then she added a necklace that her outfit just did not need.

Worst Female Hair Award - Jessica Biel. The dress was just OK for me and I was not crazy about the colour but the hair…it was just too frizzy, like it needed some serum to get it under control.

Worst Male Hair Award - John Travolta. Plugs or lace wig? I can’t decide.

Worst Couple, Gruesome Twosome Award - The Rivers. And they have the cheek to criticize others.

Worst Fake Bake Application Award- Leonardo D iCaprio. Did he not look in the mirror before he left the spray tanning salon? His hairline is white. Lucky for him he is hot.

Most Missed Award - Sienna Miller. I was looking forward to ridiculing her dress.

Jennifer Lopez stole the show at the Premio Lo Nuestro a la Musica Latina Awards in Miami on Thursday night.

She was magnífico! maravilloso! asombrar! then you look at Marc next to her and wonder why?

Marc Anthony was nominated for an award, but it was his esposa who earned accolades on the rojo carpet, wearing an ivory chiffon Dolce & Gabbana babydoll dress. The leather waistbelt served to highlighting her signature curves.

Marc Anthony won the award for male artist of the year, incase you were interested.

February 21st, 2007

This is the round up of all the red carpet events from last week.

Berlinale International Film Festival

I am still trying to get over my disappointment at Cate’s Golden Globe dress but here she is at Berlinale International Film Festival at the Notes On A Scandal Premiere doing what she does best and that is GLOWING and it is effortless. The colour, the ruffles, the hair, the make up, the dress, EVERYTHING is perfect….I CAN NOT WAIT for her Oscar dress…I am expecting to be blown away. Dress of the week.

Jennifer Lopez looking simple but elegant in Berlin promoting her new movie Bordertown. The shoes are fierce, Louboutin I guess.

Has Sharon Stone ever got it right?

Diane Kruger was also at Berlinale attending the Goodbye Bafana Premiere and I must say I love this dress….not many could pull it off but she did. I am not a fan of birds feathers on dresses but this gets my thumb up.

Ghost Rider Premiere, New York

Eva Mendes attended the New York Premiere of Ghost Rider wearing the beautiful mauve dress. The colour is to die for and suits her caramel skin tone perfectly. Her hair is tied back to show the dress off to full effect.

A-mazing. Runner up in dress of the week.

Petra Nemcova turned up to the same event but either could not be bothered to make the effort or had a crap stylist.

Grey Matters Screening, New York

Heather Graham turned up in this fleshly coloured dress which in my opinion totally washes her out. I would have preferred it if she had opted for colour.

The loveable Molly Shannon opted for this gorgeous white dress which is just the right length to show off her perfect pins. The detail on the dress turns what would have been a boring white dress into a fabulous dress.

Jane Krakowski also arrived in this slinky black number which although lacked any pizaz looks simply stunning on her as she opted for style and comfort over glamour.

The Number 23 Premiere, LA

Best dressed at this premiere was Garcelle Beauvais. Everything is working for me…the boots, the hair and the dress all simple but Garcelle is working it.

Jenny McCarthy was trying not to take the attention away from her man I would assume in this lackluster effort.

Although Virginia Madsen added some colour to the evening I am not liking the dress…everything else - the bag, the coat and the bangles - are working for me but NOT the dress.

Christina Applegate you are an attractive girl…PLEASE TRY HARDER.

Carla Gugino…you are WAAAAAYYYY to pale for this corset but the skirt is great.

Brittany Snow…Please read note to Applegate above.

I am loving Jordan Ladd here in this outfit…very rock n’ roll she is obviously knows her style and is not trying to be something she is not.

Dreamgirls Promotion, Tokyo, Japan

Jennifer is doing a sterling job on her world tour of promoting DreamGirls. Here she is in Japan looking fantastic….she really needs to give her stylist a bonus for knocking it out of the park again.

Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party, Beverly Hills

Katherine McPhee has some great curves granted but I am not liking this wannbee Mariah Carey get up.

Now I am a HUGE fan of Tyra Banks but this is just terrible…she has lost the plot here?

This would have been great on Naomi if the bottom half was not so see-through.

Great dress on Christina but as usual too much fake bake and they miss a spot in her cleavage.

This is just OK on Vanessa Minnillo. She has been trying hard lately since being thrust into the limelight with Nick Lachey and she is gradually getting better.

Sorry Mary..a big thumbs down for on the colour for me. The dress is nice and the shoes are to die for.

Nice dress and body but not liking the face…sorry Rhianna.

Each to their own but this is just bad on Lisa Marie Presley.

Finch And Partners Pre-BAFTA Party, London

Yasmin Le Bon and Thandie Newton look great in black. Yasmin teams her dress with -hopefully- a faux fur coat. Thandie adds a touch of gold to add a bit of glamour.
