Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Best actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence stunned as she made her way down the red carpet Sunday at the 2013 Oscars held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The young ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ actress wore Dior Haute Couture for her big night, and the dress made a big impact.

By choosing to wear a delicate Chopard necklace down her back, Jennifer is undoubtably restarting a back jewelry trend, and I’m eager to see how quickly it takes off.

Jennifer’s flawless skin and subtle smokey eyes keep her makeup look fresh and young, which keeps the voluminous dress from aging her. I have a feeling people will be crying ‘wedding gown’ on this one, but I think it’s stunning and perfectly apropos for the occasion.

As one of the first stars on the 2013 Oscars red carpet, Jessica Chastain stunningly kick-started this evening at the Hollywood & Highland Center’s Dolby Theatre in California.

After her electric appearance in a cobalt blue Roland Mouret dress at the BAFTA Awards and a red Alexander McQueen design at the SAG Awards, the ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ nominee explored the other side of the colour spectrum today.

She wore a nude Armani Privé custom gown that screamed movie star.

This look unapologetically oozed old Hollywood glamour, especially with Jessica’s soft side-swept waves and her saturated ruby lip.

Normally with her fair skin tone and flame-red hair, this flesh-coloured, monotone palette could be problematic. But the subtle, sequin shimmer of the gown mixed with the bold lippie and the sparkle from Harry Winston diamond earrings and a ’60s-era Harry Winston bracelet pull it all together.

I’m glad she didn’t wear a necklace, though, as that would have cluttered the sweetheart neckline of this simply elegant gown.

Octavia Spencer looked beautiful as usual on the red carpet at the 2013 Oscars held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The ‘The Help’ actress and Academy Award winner wore an ethereal champagne-colored Tadashi Shoji gown.

A matching champagne clutch and stunning Lorraine Schwartz earrings are the perfect accents for the delicate and body-flattering look.

Octavia left the pops of color to her pink lips and red nails, while her updo is classic and shows off her always smiling face.

Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon looked regal on the red carpet Sunday at the 2013 Oscars held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The beautiful blonde chose a striking, yet simple custom, cobalt Louis Vuitton gown with black accents.

The ‘Walk the Line’ actress let her dress do the talking as she opted for subtle makeup and minimal jewels.

By wearing her hair in the style of the season–perfectly polished mermaid waves–Reese keeps her classic look modern, and will undoubtable make quite a few best-dressed lists.
