Jennifer Hawkins In Toni Maticevski – Australia’s Next Top Model Season 8 Launch

Jennifer Hawkins In Toni Maticevski - Australia's Next Top Model Season 8 Launch

Jennifer Hawkins was back to work two day after her honeymoon yesterday evening to launch Season 8 of Australia’s Next Top Model, which was held at Doltone House in Sydney.

The newlywed showed off her fresh tan, wearing an orange-and-black Toni Maticevski cocktail dress with an asymmetrical neckline.

I’m not crazy about the styling. The cuff works; however, the shoes are tres boring and the clutch doesn’t complement any part of her look.

While I love the dress, I have a feeling some of you will be put off by the orange dress and orange glow.

Am I right? Should she have opted for a neutral-coloured dress to showcase her tan?

2013 Logie Awards

Logie Awards 1

A constellation of starlets came out to celebrate the small-screen at Aussie TV’s biggest night, the 2013 Logie Awards. The red carpet was on fire yesterday at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, Australia, as gowns and glam took their starring roles.

Rebecca Judd: The model and TV presenter strutted out her svelte frame in a daring corseted creation by J’Aton Couture. The design duo behind J’Aton is a favourite of hers, as they also designed her wedding gown. But I wasn’t quite saying ‘I do’ to this number. With all the sheer chiffon paneling, glinting gold belt and the metallic netting, I could have done without the shoulder and sleeve detail—and that high ponytail ‘do.

Samara Weaving: ‘Red’ and ‘lace.’ When used together, they have the potential to commit the most serious of fashion sins. Not so on this Australian actress who was stunning in Steven Khalil, the designer darling of the Logies. With this sweeping gown and its tastefully see-through bodice, it’s not hard to see why.

Jesinta Campbell: The former Miss Universe Australia showed her pageant best in this glittery Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 midnight-blue gown. The criss-cross backside of the dress and the Lanvin chain reverse-necklace were far more intriguing than that ubiquitous plunge front. The clumsy black clutch didn’t fit in, and I would have liked to see Jesinta’s hair swept into a chic updo on this occasion.

Laura Dundovic In Jayson Brunsdon – MYER Spring Summer 2013 Launch

Laura Dundovic joined fellow Australian beauty queens Jesinta Campbell and Jennifer Hawkins on Thursday for the MYER Spring/Summer 2013 Launch, held at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia.

The Miss Universe Australia 2008 winner wore a Spring 2012 look by Australian designer Jayson Brunsdon.

The simple white halter dress is embellished with silver lace along the neckline and skirt, as well as a trendy peplum detail.

Matching Jayson Brundson sandals and clutch accessorize the look, with a sleek ‘do to show off the dress’ neckline and fresh-faced makeup providing the finishing touches.

Jennifer Hawkins In Sass & Bide – MYER Spring Summer 2013 Launch

Miss Universe 2004 Jennifer Hawkins was a vision in gold at the MYER Spring/Summer 2013 launch held in Sydney on Thursday.

The beauty queen, who also happens to be the face of MYER, stood out in a multi gold tone Sass & Bide metallic minidress.

A light pink waistband adds an unexpected touch to the gilded look. I love how Jennifer managed to match the colour of her lipstick almost exactly to the belt.

Strappy gold sandals and tousled waves complete the bold ensemble.

Are you a fan of this sparkly number, or is it a bit too much for a fashion show?

2012 Logie Awards

Delta Goodrem was joined by many more stars on the red carpet at the 2012 Logie Awards held at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium to celebrate Australia’s finest talents on television.

Megan Gale: It’s no surprise to see Megan wearing an Alex Perry gown as she’s worn the designer on several occasions. Her sultry black dress with sheer panels including a deep-v cut-out was teamed with a black-and-white Bulgari clutch. Had the clutch been nude and black, this look would’ve been a perfect 10. As presented, it’s a 9.5.

Kate Richie: My, hasn’t Sally Fletcher grown. Those who grew up watching ‘Home & Away’ after school won’t recognise Kate Ritchie. I can’t believe she’s now 33 years old and looking absolutely stunning wearing a Steven Khalil midnight-blue gown. She really brought the glamour to this event with her sequined dress and with an equally bedazzling clutch and jewels. Ladylike sexy chic red-carpet dressing at its best.

Asher Keddie: You can’t have a high-profile event in Australia without a look from the Australian Couture kings from J’Aton Couture. It would be like an Oscars without Elie Saab. This might be the Marmite dress of the group; you’ll either love it or hate it. I love it. It’s tantalizing sheer without being tacky, as it’s worn with much grace and sophistication. The attention to detail on the embroidery is magnificent and Asher let the dress do all the talking by not adding any accessories.

2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup Day & 2009 AAMI Victoria Derby Day

2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup Day

Like Ascot in the UK the Melbourne Cup Day is more about hats and fashion than horse-racing – from a woman’s point of view of course.

Kate Waterhouse oozed sophistication wearing a Chloé bow-detailed asymmetric silk blouse, which she paired with a high waisted white skirt and nude heels.

Normally I really hate a necklace worn with an asymmetrical top, but I’m surprised that it doesn’t bother me here.

Her hat perfects this stunning look.

I believe Jennifer Hawkins is wearing a stunning head-piece, but unfortunately I can barely make it out from the artwork behind her.

Laura Dundovic was my second favourite going for a black and beige colour co-ordinated look.

Model Sophie Monk opted for a sexier leopard print look.

I guess models can write their own fashion rule books, but it doesn’t feel quite right at this event.

More stunning hats.

Sonia Kruger looks stunning, I’m so jealous of her toned legs.

I love the fuschia colour of her look and her hat which looks like something a chic air stewardess would wear in the 70s.

I didn’t like anything about Olivia Newton-John’s look.  I may have like it had she not gone overboard with the boots and the lace gloves.

Zara Phillips’ Thread Social dress is unflattering on her from every angle.

Her Philip Treacy hat is nice though.

Designer Leona Edmiston had some extra pieces of tulle left over from designing her hat, so she incorporated the left-overs into her dress.

2009 AAMI Victoria Derby Day

Lara Bingle made sure all eyes were on her by wearing a large head-piece.

I’m sure it was mission accomplished, but every one was no doubt looking at her because of her deep plunging LBD than her hat.

Those of us outside Australia still don’t really know Lara, but the model is set to skate to international fame with news she will head to London in March for the UK series of “Torvill and Dean: Skating on Ice”.

Megan Gale’s black and white dress is so chic it hurts.

Loves it.

Jennifer Hawkins’ bold shoulder dress was covered with a lace overlay to complement her square lace head piece.

Myer Spring/Summer 2009/10 Collection Launch

The X Factor is due to start on Saturday in the UK, and I can barely contain my excitement.

We’ll be watching what has been taped weeks in advance, so this gives the judges some time out before the drama of the live shows in the Autumn.

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue is back at home in Australia, and she was sitting front row at this show wearing strapless corseted Victoria Beckham Fall 2009 dress with an organza bodice overlay and sequin hip panel.

Danni wore her dress with black clutch and Christian Louboutin pigalle heels.

The dress looks good on Dannii, but it would’ve been better had she shortened it.

No matter what we say about Victoria’s style, it seems that celebs just can’t get enough of VB threads that the moment.

Victoria Beckham and Selita Ebanks have both already worn this dress.

Former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins is currently the very pretty face of “Myer”.

She arrived on the red carpet wearing a plunging black dress, with a bow detail on the waist and crystal details on the shoulders.  Those details remind me of the Givenchy Spring 2009 collection.

Black peep-toes complete the look.

Lara Bingle was ‘glowing’ in a pale pink long sleeve Prada dress which has a the back cut-out.

Her hair was slight wild and messy and her make-up kept light.

YSL white strappy sandals complete the look.
