Jennifer Connelly was the Spring 2008 campaign girl for Balenciaga, and she is still very faithful to the brand, as she wore this multi-coloured striped sequined Balenciaga Spring 2009 dress on the red carpet, for The Day the Earth Stood Still New York premiere last night.

Her hair was sleek, her make-up was flawless, very much what we have come to expect from the stunning actress.

I am glad she modified the dress from the runway, as it may have come across to costumey on the red carpet.

When Jennifer Connelly arrived at the Costume Institute Gala in New York during May wearing head-to-toe Balenciaga, it was not a surprised, as she was the face of the Balenciaga Spring 2008 campaign.

The actress looked stunning wearing a Balenciaga black and white dress with sky high pointy heels and stunning jewels.

Her Fall 2008 black and white dress, has a low v-neck which leads into a wrap front. It also has a bow detail which sits on the high waist along with a pleated peplum and a sexy slit on the left hand side.

The quite beauty that is Jennifer Connelly graces the cover of Marie Claire’s December 2008 edition.

The married Oscar winner’s latest movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still, co-stars Keanu Reeves. The movie is a remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film about an alien visitor and his giant robot counterpart who visit Earth.

The actress was the surprise face of the Fall 2008 Balenciaga campaign, but she carried off the quirky designs with both style and grace.

Her interview was all about things she loves, and here are some extracts:

On her home life: “I became a mom before I became a wife. When I had kids, I felt I had a home like I’d never experienced before.”

On Pink Lady apples: “Three a day. I eat so many apples, it’s stupid.”

On speaking Italian: “It’s so much fun. It’s such a crisp and bright-sounding language.”

On Vodka: “Chilled. No ice. Just a tiny bit of orange juice, or with soda and lime.”

On the LBD: “You can just fold it up and throw it in your bag. It always works.”

Actress Jennifer Connelly arrived at Elle Magazine’s 14th Annual Women In Hollywood Event held at the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills, California wearing a Balenciaga Resort 2008 floral tunic dress.

She wore her dress with black strappy sandals.

Uber stylist June Ambrose attended Us Weekly’s 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers at Hudson Terrace in New York last month wearing the same dress.

June wore her dress is grey suede platform pumps and some matching bracelets.

I love June’s Farrah Fawcett hair and the colour of her pumps, so she wins for me.

Jennifer Connelly looks amazing fronting Balenciaga Spring 2008 advertising campaign.

In the picture to the right, with the blue background she is particularly striking.

She appears almost porcelain doll-like, in her pose and colouring.

When I first saw those structured, standout shoulder lined, hand-span waisted, voluminous hipped dresses, I was not sure who they would work anywhere but the runway.

Jennifer first put those doubts to rest when she wore this dress to LA premiere of “Reservation Road” back in October. She really made it work, with little effort.
