Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

If you thought Jennifer Connelly would break her stride and do something different, like a tulle ball gown, for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ this evening (May 15), you were in dreamland.

The actress was of course in Louis Vuitton, wearing a modified look from the Fall 2018 collection.

Some might regards this as ‘not-Cannes-worthy,’ but I love how it felt so right for the Star Wars premiere.

It has a futuristic vibe, and I have a sneaky feeling it was deliberately selected as it mildly resembles the iconic Stormtrooper.

So for that, I think it was a smart move. As a gown this wouldn’t have worked.

Louis Vuitton @ 2018 Met Gala

There were numerous ladies decked out in Louis Vuitton at the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, joining Emma Stone.

Alicia Vikander: Sharp, sleek and modern spring to mind when gazing at the Swedish actress’s ensemble. The two-tone colour palette speaks to the theme, but it has been reimagined in a way that’s very representative of the designer.

Laura Harrier: Showing off her gorgeous gams, she was one of the few who opted for a short silhouette this evening. It’s a flirty look, but doesn’t express the theme or grandeur of the event.

Sienna Miller: The British beauty captured the angelic allure that was popular at the gala, but presented it with more structure than many. The chunky chains add a weighty edge against the sequined fabric and whimsical headpiece.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ LA Premiere

Jennifer Connelly turned up at the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ premiere in LA on Monday (April 23). She joined Zoe SaldanaLaura Harrier and Danai Gurira.

No one will be surprised to hear that the actress donned a Louis Vuitton outfit, given that she always wears the designer.

I’m not going to fault her for playing favourites because it’s such a brilliant match. Nor, am I going to critique her on this occasion for wearing a complete Fall 2018 runway look.

When it works, it works.

The clean lines of the black leather skirt are juxtaposed with the delicate femininity of the pale yellow blouse. The shoes bring elements from both pieces while adding a futuristic note thanks to their colour.

Critics might deem the ensemble too casual for a premiere, but I think it was a wise choice given she was supporting husband Paul Bettany.

Front Row @ Louis Vuitton Fall 2018

Nicolas Ghesquière debuted his latest offering for the Louis Vuitton Fall 2018 collection during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday (March 6), with a number of the designer devotees in attendance.

Sienna Miller: After attending the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party this past Sunday, Sienna was back on the fashion front row here. Her casual look was full of ’70s, boho charm with the ruffled top and high-waist, cropped denim—topped off with a ladylike finish in her stacked pumps and black-and-white handbag—although I can see some questioning the stark contrast of hues against her outfit.

Jennifer Connelly: I know there was an intentional long and languid aesthetic to these separates, but between the sleeves and the hem, both seemed just a bit too droopy.

Emma Stone: As the latest brand ambassador—also fresh from the Oscars—Emma represented the LV label more successfully here in this paisley frock. I like the unexpected twist to the girlish offering with the peplum jacket, and the additional edginess delivered via the over-the-knee boots.

The Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 Women In Entertainment Breakfast Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more fashionable femmes in attendance at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 Women In Entertainment Breakfast on Wednesday (December 6) in Hollywood, California, joining Zoey Deutch and Jennifer Lawrence.

Amandla Stenberg: With a bold play on colour-blocking, this Solace London Resort 2018 ensemble celebrated the feminine form—even with menswear-inspired trousers. I like the vivid curve of the red-orange halter in contrast with the white waistband piece. Nicholas Kirkwood embellished pumps completed the look.

Lea Michele: The actress opted for the elegant-girly aesthetic of designer Lela Rose with this floral-embroidered frock.

Isla Fisher: The suiting trend got a punchy, graphic boost in this Alice + Olivia Resort 2018 matching jacket and pants, styled with a coordinating navy blouse.

An Evening Honoring Louis Vuitton and Nicolas Ghesquière

‘An Evening Honoring’… an annual fundraising event for the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund, paid tribute to Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière with ‘The Women’s Leadership Award’ on Thursday (November 30) in New York City.

The award was presented by Jennifer Connelly, to celebrate his many years of excellence in the fashion industry.

As you’d expect, the same list of ladies, and gents, who’ve shown their support for recent LV events were in attendance, plus Nicole Kidman.

Ruth Negga: Of the winged trio here, Ruth is the most successful at pulling off this Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 look. Dreamy in parts with a sheer and leather overlay giving the look an edge, there really is nothing she can’t pull off.

Michelle Williams: The actress perhaps went with the most safest interpretation of this Spring 2018 look, and I have a feeling many will consider this a tad washed out and too one note. I think that she looks really pretty, and to be honest, I’m glad she played it safe. Complicated LV styles overwhelm her in my opinion.

Jennifer Connelly: While I will tip my hat and have huge admiration for Jennifer for going with probably the trickiest look in the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 collection, my feeling is she has bitten off a little more than she could chew here. There’s way too much going on, and it doesn’t feel as cohesive as the other two ladies.

‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton’ Exhibition

Fashionistas in the Louis Vuitton family stepped out to attended the ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez ‘ exhibition opening on Thursday (October 26) in New York City, with the ladies all wearing Spring 2018 outfits.

Alicia Vikander: Making her first appearance since marrying Michael Fassbender, the newlywed continued to prove why she and Louis Vuitton are a smashing combination. Many will be focused on her ring, but I enjoyed the way the embroidered coat dressed up the skinny trousers. The double handles on the bag could have come off as contrived, but they don’t.

Pom Klementieff: Also displaying a compelling mix, the actress gave us long and short proportions with animal print, stripes and varying textures. Some might find it a tad too much, but the cute eye bag helped merge the competing black and brown pieces.

Zendaya Coleman:
This marked the actress’s first Louis Vuitton event. Recently, she has had a number of triumphant red carpet hits so I was intrigued to see what she would bring to the brand. The interplay of fabrics and textures is interesting and I like how she brought a sophisticated elegance to the shorter hemline.
