‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton’ Exhibition

Fashionistas in the Louis Vuitton family stepped out to attended the ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez ‘ exhibition opening on Thursday (October 26) in New York City, with the ladies all wearing Spring 2018 outfits.

Alicia Vikander: Making her first appearance since marrying Michael Fassbender, the newlywed continued to prove why she and Louis Vuitton are a smashing combination. Many will be focused on her ring, but I enjoyed the way the embroidered coat dressed up the skinny trousers. The double handles on the bag could have come off as contrived, but they don’t.

Pom Klementieff: Also displaying a compelling mix, the actress gave us long and short proportions with animal print, stripes and varying textures. Some might find it a tad too much, but the cute eye bag helped merge the competing black and brown pieces.

Zendaya Coleman:
This marked the actress’s first Louis Vuitton event. Recently, she has had a number of triumphant red carpet hits so I was intrigued to see what she would bring to the brand. The interplay of fabrics and textures is interesting and I like how she brought a sophisticated elegance to the shorter hemline.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Only The Brave’ New York Screening

Jennifer Connelly attended the ‘Only The Brave’ New York screening on Tuesday (October 17) in New York City.

You won’t be surprised to see her wearing a look from Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2018 collection. Or maybe you are, as your expectation is that she should be pulling from the recent Spring 2018 collection by now.

While I’m not always blown away with the predictability of Jennifer’s style, I do really like this look.

Steeped with masculine undertones, this style feels classic despite its contemporary detailing.

All LV accessories conclude what is quite a striking look for Jennifer.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Only The Brave’ LA Premiere

Jennifer Connelly was also in attendance at the ‘Only The Brave’ LA premiere on Sunday (October 8).

The Louis Vuitton ambassador donned a look fresh off the house’s Spring 2018 runway. Eschewing the traditional dress, she mixed a long light blue coat with soft layers of white.

The coat’s brocade pattern, understated shine and embroidery down the front ensured it was as captivating as any embellished gown.

Veering from the runway, she traded the sneakers for a chunky black sandal. I can see how she wanted to add some “weight” to the ensemble, but I would have preferred the shoe in a different colour that wouldn’t draw the attention away from the layering above.

Front Row @ Louis Vuitton Spring 2018

Many of the same stars who were at the opening of the Louis Vuitton boutique were seated front row at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 show the next day on Tuesday (October 3) during Paris Fashion Week. So, you will be excused if you’re already experiencing a certain kind of déjà vu.

Here, the lineup of the LV looks—take two—from the brand’s biggest fans.

Cate Blanchett: I had a slightly easier time embracing this directional look from Cate, as opposed to her more disjointed offering the day before. Perhaps some elements still seemed a bit forced, but no one can say this wasn’t a mullet-esque look—warrior-chic on the top, and business on the bottom.

Julianne Moore: Stepping away from the colour black, the actress was radiant in this rich, jade-green dress that had its own party happening at the back with the long fringe detail.

Alicia Vikander: Yet again, Alicia’s effortlessly chic look took top billing. In this case, it was her accessories—the handbag and booties, in particular—that really elevated this all-black ensemble.

Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme Opening

Paris Fashion Week also ushered in the grand opening of the Maison Louis Vuitton at Place Vendôme in Paris, France on Monday (October 2), with a number of the brand’s biggest fans in attendance—and all donning signature LV looks.

Cate Blanchett: As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t get on board with what Cate was serving up here. Between the silken, emerald green jacket and leather belt, the pinstripe blouse and its exaggerated cuffs, and the racing stripe track pants, it looked like she had borrowed pieces from three different looks that should have never been in the same room together.

Julianne Moore: With a look that was as close as Julianne could get to her favoured LBDs, she brought an elegance to this distressed lace dress that was reinforced by her simple approach to styling with a complementary clutch and sandals.

Alicia Vikander: I know that some question the Alicia and LV pairing, but she just wears the looks so effortlessly—even this rebellious combination between a striped top and leopard skirt, topped off with combat boots, had an undeniable cool-girl vibe.

Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 Front Row

The Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 show was held on Sunday (May 14) in Koka, Japan, with the LV lovelies out in force in their best renditions of the brand.

Fan BingBing: I love the tough-girl edge that Fan served up here with this twist on leather, as she tempered it with a retro femininity in her bronze earrings and cross-body handbag as well as her oxblood lip.

Jennifer Connelly: Perhaps my love of electric blue was skewing my judgment, but the vibrancy of this uniform-like ensemble was intriguing. That said, the same sentiment was not felt so much for the taupe belt and platform loafers, but they did play into the funky-sport theme.

Michelle Williams: It seems as if we’ve seen this dress before, as despite its elaborate embroidery and pattern mix, it remains a bit one-note. And, it seems as if it is wearing Michelle and not the other way around. I fault the restrictive neckline for that—and the boots, which simply are too forced here.
