Get The Look: Jenna Dewan-Tatum WHCD Bold Matte Red Lip

101st Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner - Inside ArrivalsCelebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta worked with Jenna Dewan-Tatum for the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday, (April 25) in Washington, DC.

Patrick said, “We wanted Jenna to look strong and bold for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, so we went with a sultry but romantic eye and a bold matte red lip.”

Here’s how to get the look.

Patrick began by moisturizing her skin to allow a smooth application of the foundation.

He then applied Calvin Klein All Day Wear Foundation mixed with Becca Illuminating Primer to give good coverage and a healthy glow. To conceal under her eyes and highlight, he used Urban Decay Concealer in Light Neutral. To contour he used Chanel Cream Bronzer on the hollows of her cheek bones. He then set the entire face with La Mer Translucent Powder, because he knew it would be a long night and we needed her makeup to last.

He wanted to keep her cheeks from looking flushed, so he used a flesh tone colour on the apples of her cheeks.

For the eyes he applied MAC Paint Pot Primer to ensure the eyeshadow would stay all night without creasing. He used shadows from Kat Von D’s new matte neutral palette, starting off with a soft brown in the crease followed by a deeper brown on the outer crease. He decided on a winged liner to add a more dramatic touch and blended it out with the black shadow. He applied Ardell Lashes in Medium and Long to finish off the eyes.

Jenna LOVES a bold lip, so Patrick applied Kevyn Aucoin Red Lip Pencil to create the perfect lip shape and then applied Melt Cosmetics Matte Red Lipstick in Belladonna 2.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Reem Acra – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Reem Acra - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Jenna Dewan-Tatum hit the red carpet of the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

A strapless, black Reem Acra ballgown with a white, beaded fold-over top accent looks striking on the star, along with her diamond Casa Reale jewels.

Her sleek chignon, radiant skin, thick, full eyelashes and matte raspberry lips are flawless and classic, and show-off Jenna’s striking natural beauty.

I have a feeling this is one of those dresses that is perfectly beautiful on the hanger, but then really comes to life when the right woman steps into it. And boy, is Jenna the right woman! I love how perfectly it fits her body, and the simple drama it offers.

FORWARD By Elyse Walker & David Koma Dinner

FORWARD By Elyse Walker & David Koma Dinner

FORWARD by Elyse Walker hosted a dinner party in West Hollywood, California on Thursday (April 2) to celebrate Georgian-born and London-based designer David Koma, who is known for his powerful, sculptural, body conscious dresses, often embellished with artistic flourishes. This signature style that is based on strong, powerful sexuality has earned him a vast celebrity following including Karolina Kurkova, Emily Blunt, Miranda Kerr, Emily Ratajkowski and Megan Fox.

While none of the aforementioned were in attendance, Camilla Belle, Ciara and Jenna Dewan-Tatum were, showcasing the designer’s flare for creating varying versions of the LBD and LWD’s.

Ciara: The current girl about town selected a Spring 2015 dress with sheer elements which would’ve been better served had the zipper been done up at the back.

Camilla Belle: This frock upheld the designer’s love for asymmetrical lines, which she styled with Ann Taylor ‘Evelyn’ double strap d’Orsay pumps.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum: David Koma’s dresses are always sexy, but when you add cut outs into that mix, that appeal instantly heightens.

Who is your favourite here? I will have to go with Camilla.

2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Red Carpet Roundup

Vanity Fair Party

Here is an quick roundup from the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, which took place on Sunday (February 22).

Jane Fonda: The actress shows us that Zuhair Murad doesn’t always spell tacky. This Spring 2015 Couture jumpsuit is divine and she is working it like no other. Kudos to her. Jimmy Choo ‘Creole’ pumps and a Rauwolf clutch accessorized her look.

Regina King: This Nicolas Jebran gown won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I love the artful colours on this design. I don’t, however, like the illusion neckline. Not close enough to her skin tone.

Leslie Mann: Like Naomi Watts, Leslie went the white suiting route, layering up with a selection of gold Neil Lane jewels the look probably didn’t really require so much of.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Zuhair Murad Couture – 2015 Oscars

Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Zuhair Murad Couture - 2015 Oscars

Jenna Dewan-Tatum attended the 2015 Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (February 22).

She could have accepted an award on the sheer merit of her graceful Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture gown.

A vision in white, the wrap-style plunge gown brimmed with an aura of pristine sophistication touched by the glimmer of delicate embellishment.

The look was made all the more effortlessly classic with the removal of the cape, which was stunning but not in line with Jenna’s style. I’m so glad the deco-influenced belt didn’t also go away.

She accessorized with a reflective Lee Savage clutch, a diamond cuff and earrings, and a bright red lip.

Simply refined yet oh-so-striking—do you agree?
