Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Katharine McPhee was my favourite on this red carpet from this group, as I can totally see myself wearing this look.

The singer wore an Alice + Olivia taupe embellished tank with Alice + Olivia Anders safari pants.

January Jones wore a white Alice + Olivia sheath dress with draping on the hip with white strappy Jerome Rousseau sandals.

Vanessa Hudgens opted for a cute Tibi strapless mini dress from the Spring 2010 collection, with an amazing pair of multi-coloured Jimmy Choo ‘Zuma’ sandals.

Layered Irit Design silver chain necklaces completed her look.

I wasn’t at all excited about what Anna Kendrick wore, but her accessories made up for it.

She wore Jimmy Choo ‘Zena’ sandals and carried the much coveted Emilio Pucci Marquise bag.

Jessica Stroup also wore a white dress.

Her was a draped one shoulder Notte by Marchesa dress with a ruffled shoulder detail.

A Jimmy Choo ‘Mini Carolina’ clutch and those clunky Casadei 3504 triple platform pumps completed her look.

Like Anna, Gabrielle Union opted for an all black look which included a Helmut Lang dress, a Yaya leather jacket and Alexander McQueen cut-out zippers & skull booties.

Just when I thought the worst dressed at the Costume Institute Gala was Carey Mulligan, up pops January Jones.

I’m not crazy about the colour of her YSL dress, nor the black embroidery but I could’ve warmed to this look if it wasn’t for those black gloves and her horrific make-up.

Who did her make-up Coco the Clown?

January continues to slide for me.

It’s been a long while since I’ve liked anything she’s worn.

Prior to January Jones walking the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, she attended the Lionsgate Pre-Golden Globe party held in the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA.

The stylish star opted for a Gucci Spring 2010 dress with a strong graphic print, black straps and slash details.

I like the dress, but not on January.

What’s bothering me is the second slashed detail which is subtle on the runway, but unflattering on January.

I feel like pulling it up to make sure it stays in place.

I also don’t think her hair suits the edgy nature of this sexy dress.

Worst Dressed Award
I never liked this Zac Posen Resort 2010 dress on the runway, and I’m sorry to say but I think it’s even worse on Tina Fey.

The print is quite garish and I just hate this awkward length on the skirt.

The only thing I did like were her nude satin Christian Louboutin bow T dorect peep toe d’orsay heels.

Most Predictable Award
We get it, we get it Mariah Carey.

You’ve got big boobs, but must show them off at every occasion?

I did applaud Mariah’s attempt become more sophisticated on the red carpet, but she’s slowly slipped back to tackyville.

Next time please cover up the twins and try to discover what demure and sophisticated means.

Inappropriately Dressed Award
Perrey Reeves looks great in her black and teal Herve Leger dress, but it’s NOT event appropriate.

Had it been a gown it would’ve worked better for me, but this dress was way to casual.

I Guess You Couldn’t Be Bothered To Dress Up Award
Julia Roberts wore a very simple black knee-length vintage YSL dress.  So simple it bored me to tears.

OK the necklace jazzes it up a bit, but I can’t help feeling that her poor stylist had to fight to get her to wear it.

She carried a Christian Louboutin clutch.

Most Disappointed Award
The one person I was looking forward to seeing on this red carpet was Carey Mulligan.

Unfortunately I wasn’t wowed by her navy and black organza Nina Ricci Spring 2010 modified gown.

I think the runway version is way more interesting with the asymmetrical neckline and the lace skirt.

Her look was completed with Fred Leighton jewels.

Worst Supported Award
For someone who’s spent a lot of time promoting bra’s I was very surprised at Heidi Klum’s lack of support in her ice blue Roberto Cavalli dress.

Too Sombre Award
Maybe it was the weather but I just wasn’t feeling the lack of colour in January Jones’ look.

Normally she wears lots of bright colours, but it was  her black Lanvin gown really gave me the blues.

I also really disliked that heavy black headband.

Another day, yet another well worthy BDOTW contender. I’m gonna have trouble photoshopping all this weeks looks onto one page.

Sorry Rachel McAdams but my eyes instantly locked onto Diane Kruger at the Berlin premiere of Sherlock Holmes.

The German actress shone so brightly on the red carpet wearing this Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2010 LBD with sculptured hips and a futuristic gold bolero.

I’m loving the new directing Diane seems to have taken on the red carpet.

We are seeing less gowns and more fashion forward minis some sexy, some edgy, some with a mixture of both.

Although I’m not a fan of the ‘Palmero’ (hairstyle). I do love it on Diane, as with her hair pulled back it doesn’t interfere with us marveling at that magnificent hardware.

As Rachel Zoe would say “she shut it down”.

I have a feeling…”oooohh ooohhh”…that Diane is going to be electric on the red carpet this year.

As much as I’ve gushed over Diane, Rachel McAdams was also knocked it out of the ball park in this stunning one-shoulder Alberta Ferretti Fall 2009 crinkled silk chiffon gown.

I much prefer her one-shoulder version as the material wraps around her body with more fluidity, plus I love the black sash tied around her waist.

Her hair and flawless make-up almost render me speechless. I much prefer this look to the London Premiere.

Yep…she’s a contender for BDOTW too.

January Jones was also at this premiere wearing a black mini Valentino dress with voluminous sleeves.

I’m not crazy about the overall look, as I wish she’s pulled her hair back as it feel like it’s competition for room on her the shoulders with the sleeves.

January Jones would have stood out at this event wearing a two-tone Gucci Resort 2010 bandeau dress, paired with statement necklace, black heels and her blonde locks piled high.

Her asymmetrical heels are an interesting choice, but I would have loved something less heavy to go with her summery dress.

Zoe Saldana continues to impress wearing a two tone lingerie-inspired Antonio Berardi Spring 2010 bustier dress which screams ‘sexy’.

I’m loving the gold heels Jamie King wore with her Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 dress.

The dress gathers from neckline down the front of her dress and has an interesting jagged hemline.

It’s been a while since we saw Emma Stone on the red carpet.

The actress walked the red carpet wearing a back tulle Christian Cota Fall 2009 draped dress with Guiseppe Zanotti ankle boots.

I wish I could have found a better picture of her stand up straight.

I am in lust with Olivia Wilde’s white Marchesa Bridal dress.

The colour, the structure, the folds and the embroidered detail on the bodice excite my senses.

Unfortunately I’m don’t feel the same way about her hairstyle.  An updo would’ve worked wonders.

Her look is paired with Brian Atwood Marlo heels.

There was a time when Kim Kardashian would’ve been guaranteed to walk this event wearing a bandage dress, but these days she covers up but still manages to look sexy.

This plum colour is gorgeous on her.

Jessica Stroup always keeps her look young and fresh.

She wore a pair of gold metallic lace boy shorts and black tailored jacket from the ‘Amber Valletta for Monrow’ capsule collection.

Jimmy Choo Detroit suede ankle boots complete her look.

It looks like shorts were the hot trend of the night as Amanda Seyfried also donned a black pair, teaming them with a crocheted fringed top.

A Judith Leiber clutch and Brian Atwood Maniac black heels complete this cute look.

Rose McGowan goes without her signature red pout on this occasion for a fresher neutral look.

Her blue Miu Miu bustier dress has also been worn by Kristen Dunst.

Elizabeth Banks and Gabrielle Union both wore black BCBG Max Azria dresses.

Elizabeth paired her mini dress with pattern tights, whilst Gabrielle’s asymmetrical hemmed dress was paired with peep-toes and a two-tone clutch.
