Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Here are six more looks from the celebration of Chanel Fine Jewelry’s 80th anniversary of the ‘Bijoux De Diamants’ collection, created by Gabrielle Chanel, in New York City yesterday evening.

January Jones: After knocking it out of the fashion ballpark at the Emmys, I’m deeply disappointed by January on this occasion. Between the ghostly makeup, low bandeau and the off-white maxi skirt, the best way to sum up this Chanel Fall 2008 Couture look would be “a hot mess”.

Leigh Lezark: It was left to the DJ and FROWer to bring some glamour to proceedings. Leigh looked stunning wearing a black net Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 gown with PVC embroidery which was styled with a matching bolero with a high neckline. A Perspex clutch, a simple updo and barely there makeup save for kohl-rimmed eyes completed her look.

Giovanna Battaglia: The editor gives me a dilemma. Do I look at the shoes or her Chanel Resort 2013 dress first? Because both are screaming for my attention.

January Jones always likes to takes a risk on the red carpet, so I was thrilled to see yet another dramatic look from her at the 2012 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening.

The ‘Mad Men’ star didn’t let me down, wearing a showstopping Zac Posen Resort 2013 gown.

While black tends to get lost in translation, the architectural details on this dress are hard to miss.

I love the sleek, deep side-parted hair paired with the equally severe gown.

The makeup and attitude are perfect for this look. Bravo Miss Jones.

I have to say I’m mildly obsessed with January Jones’ new flame hair ‘do.

I’m not sure if she’s taken inspiration from her co-star Christina Hendricks, or if it’s for a movie role or if she’s just fancied a change because it’s working for her.

What I do know is she appears to be obsessed with her Coach Legacy Leather Duffle bag.

She was first spotted carrying the bag earlier this month, whilst still a blonde, and has gone on to sport both the white and the coral on many other occasions.

The iconic Coach duffle bag, which will be offered in a rainbow of candy hues, is a sleek, modern update of the beloved Coach silhouette with decorative tassels and a heritage Coach New York logo in metallic foil.

Coach’s Legacy Leather Duffle bag will be available this September.

January Jones was back to her best on the red carpet at the 2012 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City this evening.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress wore an Atelier Versace Spring 2012 gown.

Her yellow custom strapless gown with structured metallic details and a peplum waist was inspired by the yellow bodysuit presented on the runway.

I love her sleek blonde locks and vintage Cartier yellow gold, diamond, and turquoise necklace, but the gown sells itself so it wasn’t needed.

Gold Versace heels completed her look.

It’s good to see January back in top form.

January Jones attended the ‘La Revolution Bleue’ Special Screening at the Paris Theatre in New York City last night.

Following Scarlett Johansson, the actress wore a Mary Katrantzou Fall 2012 dress.

Her digitally engineered printed off-the-shoulder cocktail dress with a peplum detail at the waist is a gorgeous masterpiece, but January is not selling it to me – quelle surprise.

She looks totally overwhelmed by the nature of the fashion-forward look.

If you click on the image above and view all the pictures from this event, in every picture her hand is placed in front of her like she’s just not confident enough to rock this look.

Picture Blake Lively in this look. Golden locks flowing, hand on the hip to show off the peplum detail and head slightly tilted to the left. It would’ve worked, no?

January Jones joined a host of stars on the red carpet for the Metropolitan Opera Gala Premiere of Jules Massenet’s ‘Manon’ in New York City last night.

We struggled to get on board with January’s recent red-carpet choices, but on this occasion she picked a great look.

Whilst this YSL Fall 2012 dress may not be that exciting at the front, the party is most definitely at the back as the dress reveals a thigh-high split and an open back.

Pre Angelina Jolie’s leg, I think January would’ve made more of the split from the front, but we live in a ‘post Angelina Jolie’s leg’ world where one is ridiculed for appearing to try too hard.

As January’s drape-neck dress has a light embellished detail going across it, she kept her jewels to a minimum by just adding studded diamond earrings.

Retro loose waves, a coral lip colour and a purple eyeshadow completed her look.

Love or loathe?
