January Jones In Givenchy - 2013 Emmy Awards

January Jones attended the 2013 Emmy Awards on Sunday night in LA with alongside her ‘Mad Men’ co-stars Jessica Pare and Kiernan Shipka.

We have seen the sexy, and the edgy side of January Jones; this time she opted for a very romantic look wearing a custom rose-pink Givenchy strapless dress with a floral lace skirt inspired by the Resort 2014 collection.

The dress is gorgeous, but on this occasion I’m totally blown away by the hair and makeup. Her glam squad really did her proud on this occasion.

January Jones In Parker - Vanity Fair and Maybelline Toast To ‘Mad Men’

While her co-stars–Jessica Pare and Kierana Shipka—were hitting up several parties on Friday evening, January Jones only attended the Vanity Fair and Maybelline Toast to ‘Mad Men’ held at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California.

She wore a Parker strapless frock featuring the same pretty, striped chevron patterned print as a similar dress by the same designer worn by Jamie Chung last week.

The difference here is that the styling feels a bit flat. However, I do love the edgier hairdo. It’s usually a mumsy hairstyle which brings down her looks.

January Jones In Mary Katrantzou - Women In Film's 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards

January Jones attended Women In Film’s 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday evening.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress, who looks like she just stepped off the set with that aging hairdo, wore a Mary Katrantzou ‘Fauwi Babelonia’ jacquard cap-sleeved dress with a pretty landscape print from the Fall 2013 collection – a commercial look.

Adding yet more colour to this mesmerizing print, January wore sparkling emerald earrings which highlighted her shimmering green eye makeup.

Dramatic Eyes At The Met Gala The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Dramatic eyes were a big trend at last night’s Met Gala, and while some were absolutely stunning, others completely missed the mark. Everyone might not agree with me here, but I really feel that you can do punk and look attractive while doing it. Case in point, these three lovely ladies:

Good:
Hailee Steinfeld’s eyes were total showstoppers last night. Her green and black cat-eyed look was edgy but beautiful, and totally punk-esque.

Another real winner was the always-flawless Diane Kruger. Her silvery gray smokey eyes almost had an ombré effect, with the lightest silver at the inner corners and the darkest at the outer corners. Gorgeous!

And finally, we have Nina Dobrev, who sported an intensely winged upper lid and a silver-lined lower lid. Very high-fashion punk!

Bad:
You have to give Elle Fanning props for having fun, but her winged electric blue and pink eyeshadow is more little girl playing dress-up than fashion’s biggest night.

As for January Jones, her look reads far more alien warrior than punk! The disconnected triangular shape of her liner is quite harsh, and coupled with the grayed out eyebrows, she looks a little creepy.

Ugly:
Ginnifer Goodwin is always a fashion and beauty risk-taker, but this one simply did not pay off. The heavy black shadow from lash to brow, along with the heavily shaded brow may be daring, but it’s also unfortunate. The only place this look belongs is on a raccoon.

January Jones completely threw me for a loop, as she took to the 2013 Met Gala red carpet on Monday in New York City.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress was worlds away from her classic Betty Draper character (and from her sublime Met moment last year). But she did put on quite the show with this punk-star alter-ego.

She chopped off the longer knee-length of this Chanel Spring 2009 Couture square-shoulder dress, encrusted with shiny paillettes, which lent an edgier appeal.

The frock paired with metallic shoes was fine, daresay forgettable, but what was more intriguing was January’s hair and makeup.

Talk about a makeover. She outlined her eyes in a heavy, geometric application of liner and covered up her brows. It all made for quite the sci-fi effect—call it alien punk.

A mini-bouffant and braided-back locks topped off the look.

The Paley Center For Media Presents 'Mad Men' Season 5

The ladies from ‘Mad Men’ were back on the red carpet again last night for The Paley Center for Media’s presentation of ‘Mad Men’ Season 5, held at The Paley Center for Media in New York City yesterday evening, with two of the three making an effort to get dressed up for the occasion.

Jessica Pare: As with the last event, the Canadian actress stood out wearing another fitted dress, this time selecting a Roksanda Ilincic ‘Efra’ dress from the Spring 2013 collection with striking colour panelling, which she styled with Charlotte Olympia ‘Dolly’ pumps.

Kiernan Shipka: Opting for another dark-coloured frock, the young actress chose a fit-and-flare black dress with rich red floral embroidery. Satin pumps and a braided ‘do completed her look. Beautiful, elegant and age appropriate as always.

January Jones: Opting for a more laidback look, the actress wore a Textile by Elizabeth and James denim jacket over an embroidered Zara cream blouse, paired with Helmut Lang leather pants and Christian Louboutin ‘Diptic’ open-toe ankle boots which we’ve seen before on Jennifer Hudson and Eva Longoria. Do you think she is under dressed or that the others are over dressed?

BAFTA New York Celebrates ‘Mad Men

BAFTA New York celebrated the leading lovelies, (and the dapper guys, too), of AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ on Monday at The Harvard Club in New York City. I wanted to be ‘mad’ about the ladies’ looks, but I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed by a few of them.

Jessica Paré:  The Canadian stunner wore a jade-green dress, gilded in gold bric-a-brac at the neck and sleeves, from L’Wren Scott’s Fall 2013 collection. The slimline dress showed off her figure, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the distracting black Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps. They weren’t right for this look, as I much preferred the metallic gold shoes that took to the runway.

January Jones: With her black leather Versace motorcycle jacket and printed Parker mini-skirt, the actress mixed punk and playful styles. Black Miu Miu platform pumps and a tousled bob finished this sporty moment that was certainly worlds away from her classic-glam ‘Mad Men’ character.

Christina Hendricks: The flame-haired star covered up her curves in a long-sleeve, knee-length black Valentino dress. While it did have some silhouette-enhancing trim at the waist and bodice, these details all but disappeared into the blackness. The spark was further extinguished with tired Stuart Weitzman black shoes—a more inspired pair would have worked wonders. At least Christina’s bold red lip provided some much-needed drama.

Kiernan Shipka: The young starlet stood out here with her adorable Dolce & Gabbana bow-accented frock that managed to look simultaneously sophisticated and age-appropriate. She also gets points for her retro side-swept wave and her decision to opt out of black pumps, choosing instead a mesh pair.
