The CFDA, WWD & Variety Celebrate Runway To Red Carpet Initiative

To celebrate the inaugural launch of the Runway to Red Carpet initiative, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Variety and Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) hosted a star-studded luncheon on Tuesday (February 20) at the Chateau Marmont, which was sponsored by Karma Automotive.

A range of starlets were in attendance. However, if you had just looked at their ensembles, you’d never know they were at the same event—so diverse were their modes of dress.

Olivia Munn: I like the sunny outlook of this Veronica Beard Spring 2018 warm-weather-ready suit set, with the drawstring detailing adding an element of feminine allure. Obviously, the shorts didn’t stand up so well to the creases from sitting.

Lea Michele: Opting for a more romantically feminine offering, Lea wore a Zuhair Murad floral gown with a ruffled peplum. I can imagine this dress looked very pretty in the garden outside.

January Jones: I appreciate the directional, urban-forward mood the actress was setting with this Off-White Resort 2018 look—complete with that slick-back ponytail. However, I know the deconstructed, pinstripe skirt will have many saying it looks as if she wrapped a bolt of men’s shirting material around her waist.

3rd Annual InStyle Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 3rd Annual InStyle Awards on Monday (October 23) in Los Angeles, California brought out numerous stylish ladies donning their most head-turning ensembles.

Angela Sarafyan: The ‘Westworld’ actress put a darker twist on a princess silhouette in a Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture gown. The black trim and the darker tulle layers lent an edginess to the full skirt. An Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch and Chloe Gosselin ‘Narcissus’ sandals played up the moody vibe.

Demi Lovato: Bringing a sultry elegance to a lavender Alice + Olivia Spring 2018 gown, the ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer toughened up the slip dress with a white studded belt and Leticia Linton ring. If I have to nitpick, I would have liked to see the dress a few inches shorter and a more formal belt.

Hammer Museum Gala In The Garden

The Hammer Museum Gala in the Garden was hosted on Saturday (October 14) in LA, with a crush of beauties in attendance—and all outfitted in one of the night’s leading supporters, Bottega Veneta.

Emmy Rossum: Looking nearly impossibly elegant, Emmy stunned in a Fall 2017 gown that beautifully shimmered with its gunmetal metallic plisse design. I love how her red lip and refined waves imbued another element of classic allure to the striking look.

Priyanka Chopra: I liked the softer palette of this Bottega Veneta Spring 2018 ensemble, but the creamy-white pumps let the look down.

Sarah Jessica Parker: This Resort 2018 gown was a rather subdued look for the likes of SJP.

Fox Fall Party 2017

The Fox Fall Party 2017 was held on Monday (September 25) in West Hollywood, California, with a trio of stars in attendance.

Halston Sage: This T by Alexander Wang knot midi dress may have been minimalistic in design, but it packed a feisty punch in its fiery hue and seductive silhouette that Halston worked to max capacity. – link

Amber Stevens West: Reflecting the softer side of feminine glamour, Amber wore a ruffled Paule Ka cold-shoulder frock. I think her styling completely elevated the design that could have slipped into nightdress territory, as the metallic Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and matching bag were polished elements to complete the look.

January Jones: With a gothic-pretty approach, January wore the ‘Cate’ floral fil coupé mini dress from The Vampire’s Wife, with vampy heels to round out the look. Sienna Miller previously wore this dress, and I much preferred her more streamlined, minimal styling. Between the wrist cuff, the strappy shoes, and the bright pink lip, this ensemble seemed a bit forced on January.

14th Annual Inspiration Awards

A trio of starlets held court at the 14th annual Inspiration Awards on Friday (June 2) in Beverly Hills, California.

Lea Michele: The crispness of the white floral stencil patterning in this Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2017 cutout dress caught my eye. However, I would have far better appreciated it on Lea sans so much liberal use of bronzer—and with a sleek bun.

January Jones: Taking her look down more playful territory, January wore a Christopher Bu Spring 2017 striped dress paired back to a Christopher Bu Resort 2017 kitschy, embroidered blazer. Her ribbon-tied ponytail along with a coral lip completed the cute ratio, but it still didn’t quite add up for me.

Yara Shahidi: At first, Yara’s ADEAM Spring 2016 shirt dress may seem more on the plain Jane side. But, she wore it with such panache—sleeves rolled up and styled with Tamara Mellon ‘Reverse Frontline’ shoes and John Hardy jewels—that I quickly warmed to the look. Also, I love that you can see the split shoulder detail.

January Jones In Lela Rose – Fallout 4 Launch

January Jones In Lela Rose - Fallout 4 Launch

January Jones attended the ‘Fallout 4’ launch party held on Thursday (November 5) in Los Angeles, California.

Cast in a crisp icy palette, the actress wore a feminine look from Lela Rose’s Spring 2016 collection.

I really find the look intriguing and sensual, but I don’t think it translates too well on the red carpet.

My main issue, surprisingly, isn’t the trousers, but the top half which looks a tad boxy on January.
