Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Janet Jackson was at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York City last night to present an award to her designer friend Donatella Versace.

The superstar singer of course wore a Versace look.

Her black Atelier Versace gown with gold buckled details on one side was teamed with a faux fur jacket and gold jewels.

Normally I would like see a pop of colour in an all black look, but I wouldn’t change a thing.

Her look is effortless, sexy and chic.

I’m sure I am not the only one who had bookmarked this Haider Ackermann Spring 2011 look for Tilda Swinton.

Instead Janet Jackson wore it last night for the New York Premiere of “For Colored Girls”.

It took me a while to find good picture of Janet, because she looked really bad in all of them, so I had to concede it wasn’t the pictures but Janet herself that was making this look so bad.

The pants are too long, the leather belt sits too high and doesn’t look good over the jacket and why oh why is she wearing a chiffon train with this look?

For an effortless look she totally over complicated it.

I’m heartbroken.

On Monday Janet Jackson appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” in the UK alongside her “Why Did I Get Married Too?” co-star Tyler Perry.

Janet talked about her new diet book, ‘True You’, which she says is not autobiographical but that it does draw on her own weight-loss experiences. She also reveals that her nickname growing up was ‘Dunk’.

On the show she wore a Victoria Beckham Spring 2010 dress which we’ve seen recently on Gwyneth Paltrow when she attended the photocall of “Iron Man 2″.

I just adore the red pumps Janet wears with this dress.

This was a great look for Janet.

Actress/singer Janet Jackson looked stunning as she showed off her new short haircut on Friday at the London premiere of her new movie “Why Did I Get Married Too?”

Her fabulous new haircut makes the 44 year old look younger – not that she’s aged since the 80s anyway.

I do love her Lanvin Fall 2010 grey ensemble, but you won’t be surprised to know that I’m not fond of the bra showing through her sheer top.

It feels so tacky for such a chic look.

It wouldn’t have hurt nor pulled the look down has she lined the top.

Other than that she does look great.

I really love the gold accessories which include Lanvin Fall 2010 metallic pumps, Lanvin chain strap bag and Lanvin Spring 2010 bracelets. All much more appealing than black.

Janet Jackson was the only star to walk the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala in New York last night wearing Lanvin, despite inaccurate reports that Naomi Watts wore Lanvin too.

It seems Ms Janet and La Lopez are developing a deep rooted love for Lanvin.

Had anyone asked us who would be the top 5 wearers of the brand this year. None of us would have picked these ladies.

From the woman who started a trend for wearing one key as an earring, she carries off that one leather gloves perfectly.

Once again though I’m blinded by boobs and worried that Ms Janet will have another wardrobe malfunction, but she sure does work the hell out of this look.

Love it.

Christian Louboutin Amber strappy sandals complete the look.

Last night Janet Jackson attended the “Why Did I Get Married Too” New York Premiere.

Her look was nice, but it doesn’t flatter her.

If she was going to belt her navy Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 jacket, I would have preferred her to wear fitted pants for a more narrowing affect.

The harem pants make her appear very bottom heavy.

This could’ve been a great look but the pants kill it for me.
