2015 BET Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2015 BET Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the a few more of the attendees from Sundays (June 28) 2015 BET Awards.

Janelle Monae: If it’s got a cape on it, Janelle will wear it. This SAFiYAA cape look is just one of many the singer has donned recently.

La La Anthony: The TV host was one of the few who nailed it at this event. While her Peter Pilotto colourful dress was a shorter re-run from Cindy Crawford’s look from last week, at least this look was season appropriate complete with yellow Giuseppe Zanotti sandals which can’t be missed.

Kelly Rowland: I mean? What the hell is this? Was Kelly trying to audition for ‘Black Swan 2’? This Lever Couture was tragic on so many levels. Too many to count.

Janelle Monae In Tracy Reese & Vatanika – 2015 Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner

Janelle Monae In Tracy Reese & Vatanika - 2015 Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner

Janelle Monae attended the 2015 Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner, hosted at Cipriani Wall Street on Tuesday (June 2) in New York City.

Still maintaining her ultra-chic caped crusader streak, she once again made an impressive statement in a bold red ensemble that mixed her signature androgynous style with plenty of power-girl edge.

She teamed her Vatanika Spring 2015 red flared silk pants with a Tracy Reese Fall 2015 ornately embroidered coat, worn in the style of a cape, black cropped top, and a black Rodo clutch.

I love how she took these separate designer pieces and created a look that was entirely her own. I would have just removed the choker necklace, as it was completely unnecessary.

2015 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2015 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Roundup

An additional chic set of lovelies were among the constellation of style stars at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Monday (June 1) in New York City.

Katie Holmes: I really wanted to love the actress’s one-of-a-kind Ralph Lauren Collection deep-green silk charmeuse evening dress accented with Ralph Lauren vintage jewels. Shame about the wrinkles in the dress and the long, barely-styled hair that hid the beautiful earrings.

Abigail Spencer: It was delightful to see such a bright, patterned Novis dress, where the bold colour continued with royal purple Malone Souliers Dawn Mules heels and a magenta lip. The end result was captivatingly fresh and charming, even if it appeared slightly less formal than some of the other entrances.

Gigi Hadid: This Michael Kors Resort 2016 glittery jumpsuit had a distinct Studio 54 vibe, but the model wore it so well, creating a chicly modern appeal with Michael Kors ‘Jacqueline’ sandals, a metallic Michael Kors clutch, and Atelier Swarovski jewels.

Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

weekend roundup

The weekend brought with it a garden variety of ensembles from Los Angeles to London, and more. Here, a glance at the looks and the starlets who wore them.

Emma Roberts: Joining Diane Kruger and Freida Pinto, the actress was at the 8th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park on Saturday (May 30) in Jersey City, New Jersey. She styled her sunny yellow Christine Alcalay Spring 2015 dress with Michael Kors Benji straw wedge sandals, an M2malletier Mini Amor Fati leopard pony bag, and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi Chantilly sunglasses, all topped off with a braided ’do.

Elsa Pataky: Elsa was the picture of girly charm, as she joined Emily Blunt at the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park on Sunday (May 31) in London, England. Her rose-printed Ulyana Sergeenko demi couture dress was adorable yet I would have loved to see it without the pink sweater. Casadei nude suede pumps assured her legs went on for days, with a Paula Cademartori clutch finishing the look.

Sophia Bush: The actress was at Glamour USA’s June ‘Success’ Issue dinner party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Friday (May 29). While her Vivienne Westwood Fall 2015 dress, worn with a Rauwolf clutch and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, was rather elaborate with its heavy print and silhouette, she ensured the look stayed fresh with her hair and makeup on the barely-there side.

2015 Met Gala Roundup

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

A flurry of even more bold names descended on red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4), where their colourful variety of looks only contributed to this year’s fashion extravaganza.

Anna Wintour
: As the gala co-host, the ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief dressed thematically (for her, anyway) in a Chanel Spring 2015 Couture gown featuring dimensional, all-over poppy embroidery, which had been lengthened from the runway’s original shorter version. She should have maintained her signature cap sleeve, as the flower petal statement shoulders translated as a bit cumbersome, despite their inherent artistry.

Bee Shaffer: Like her mother, Bee also found inspiration in flowers, opting for a mahogany blossom gown by Alexander McQueen. I much preferred this look to Anna’s, especially with the enchantment of the beautifully embroidered Chinese cranes that alighted down the back of the dress.
