Jaime King in Topshop – 2013 Met Gala

JaimeKingTopShop

Instead of opting for a big-name designer, Jamie King chose Topshop to produce her look for the Met Gala in New York City on Monday evening.

Donning a sleek suit with a lace turtleneck underneath, the ‘Hart of Dixie’ star struck the perfect balance of punk, the event’s theme, and sexy.

To evoke the classic punk ‘do of messy-hair-covering-eyes, Jamie flawlessly executed a less messy iteration with a deep side part and straight strands.

The actress topped her style with a spikey gold crown, dramatic diamond dagger earrings, and simple makeup with a strong brow.

All in all, it was everything punk and more.

Jaime King In Peter Som – Rembrandt Hollywood Party Prep Event

Jaime King In Peter Som - Rembrandt Hollywood Party Prep Event

Jaime King walked the red carpet at the Rembrandt Hollywood Party Prep event at the W Hotel in Hollywood on Wednesday.

The ‘Hart of Dixie’ star wore a look from Peter Som Spring 2013.

Known as a successful style chameleon, Jaime normally strays from overly ladylike styles but she hit the sartorial jackpot with the pale blue bustier bodice and tiered tweed-like pencil skirt.

The actress went full-out girly and accessorized the look with pointed toe Christian Louboutin pumps with bow details, Graziela earrings, and Melinda Maria pyramid bangles and rings.

Jaime’s neutral beauty choice works well with the retro style, but I can’t help but wonder if a classic red lip would have completed the look better.

Jaime King In McQ Alexander McQueen – Vanity Fair And Juicy Couture Celebration Of The 2013 Vanities Calendar

Jaime King In McQ Alexander McQueen - Vanity Fair And Juicy Couture Celebration Of The 2013 Vanities Calendar

Jaime King joined Brooklyn Decker and Kate Mara on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture Celebration of the 2013 Vanities Calendar last night at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

The ‘Hart of Dixie’ actress wore a McQ Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013 dress.

Her mesmerizing kaleidoscope-print dress was teamed with solid black accessories, including McQ wedges and a metal-clasp belt from the Spring 2013 collection.

Jaime completed her look with a hot-fuchsia-pink lip colour which I love: it’s complementary without being too overbearing for her colourful dress.

Jaime King In Emilio Pucci – Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party

Jaime King In Emilio Pucci - Golden Globes PartyJaime King joined a host of bright young things at the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday evening.

While there, she flaunted a gown from Emilio Pucci Spring 2013, where designer Peter Dundas peppered his collection with traditional Asian motifs.

Subtle chinoiserie-inspired embroidery twisted and wove its way from the bottom to the cutout halter top, but the creamy color quelled the impact of the fiery dragon on Jaime’s torso.

A similar look was seen on the runway—except in sheer black—but this actress and former model opted for a more conservative interpretation of the dress.

Sleek, straight hair and a smoldering eye perfected the subtle sizzle of this look.

Jaime King In Jason Wu – 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards

Jaime King In Jason Wu - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

There were three black gowns on the red carpet yesterday evening at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, where the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards took place.

Jaime King’s Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013 gown was my favourite of them all, proving that black doesn’t have to be boring.

Her black semi-sheer strappy gown with a plunging neckline and featuring a central slit was accented with a leather belt with gold-link accents.

Channelling Old Hollywood with a vampy twist, the actress styled her look with wavy golden tresses swept to one side and a bold red lip colour.

Christian Louboutin black ‘Pigalle’ pumps, David Webb jewels, and a Jill Milan clutch provided the finishing touches.

Who Wore Christian Dior Better…Léa Seydoux or Jaime King?

Back in March, Léa Seydoux, who was sporting blue hair for a movie role, attended the ‘Les Adieux à la Reine’ at La Reserve premiere in Paris, France alongside her co-stars Diane Kruger and Virginie Ledoyen.

Lea wore a Christian Dior Fall 2012 eggplant long-sleeve top with a textured calf-length purple skirt with sheer panels, which she styled with eggplant wedges.

Jaime King wore the same look to the launch of Rachel Zoe’s ‘Major Must Haves’ range with Jockey at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California last month, opting to keep the statement necklace we saw on the runway.

I loved Jaime’s look until I got to the shoes, which ruin the look for me.

If this was a competition from the ankles up she would’ve won; since it’s not, Lea is my winner on this occasion.
