'For The Love of Cinema' Dinner Party Menswear Roundup

Here is another quick menswear roundup from the fellows who attended the ‘For The Love of Cinema’ dinner party hosted at Urban Zen in New York City on Thursday (April 17).

James Marsden: Sporting a buzz cut, which doesn’t in any way diminish his charming good looks, the actor wore a navy Ermenegildo Zegna suit and a complementary shirt which really enhanced his eyes. Brown lace-ups completed his look.

Dev Patel: The British actor went for a more laidback look, wearing a printed navy tee shirt and black jeans smartened up with a burgundy blazer, which has always been a great colour on him. Sadly, though, for a dinner party his shoes look a bit scruffy.

Anton Yelchin: The actor wore a Dior Homme deep-blue wool-and-silk notch-lapel tuxedo styled with a white cotton shirt and black leather derbies, opting to go sans tie. You may remember that Jeremy Renner wore this same suit to the ‘American Hustle’ LA screening late last year.

Best Dressed of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o in Gucci & James Marsden in Valentino

I can’t believe I forgot to announce the winners of last week BDOTW; thanks Alina.

It was quite an easy win for Lupita Nyong’o in her breath-taking Gucci gown from the SAG Awards. With two more events to go, I’m excited to see if she can top this one.

James Marsden had a bit more competition but eventually won for looking so very dapper in his Valentino suit.

2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards Menswear RoundupThe men put their sartorial stamp on the 19th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, hosted on Thursday night (January 16) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Here, a look at the handsome highlights.

Bradley Cooper: The Best Supporting Actor nominee, who also made it onstage to accept the trophy for Best Acting Ensemble in ‘American Hustle,’ combined the best of both worlds—comfort and class—in his Bottega Veneta ‘Quetsche’ flannel plum suit and baby-blue button-up shirt. He looked effortlessly fine in this tie-less entrance, and the subtle yet striking shade couldn’t have been more compelling.

James Marsden
: I could barely believe my eyes when I saw ‘The Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ actor on the red carpet in an Ovadia & Sons grey plaid suit, paired with a dark navy tie and tan Givenchy lace-up shoes. It was bold move, but he still wore it well. Do you agree?

Jeremy Renner
: Forgetting the more informal trappings of his co-star Bradley, the ‘American Hustle’ actor dressed up in an Ermenegildo Zegna one-button, black tuxedo with tonal satin notch lapel tuxedo, along with a white shirt, black bow tie and black shoes.

James Marsden In Dolce & Gabbana - 2014 UNICEF Ball

James Marsden joined Anna Kendrick for the 2014 UNICEF Ball held at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Tuesday (January 14) in Beverly Hills, California.

The ‘Anchorman 2′ actor looked very suave wearing a Dolce & Gabbana suit featuring a textured midnight-blue tuxedo jacket with black peaked lapels styled with black trousers of perfect length, a crisp white shirt and a navy-blue bow-tie to complement his jacket.

An IWC timepiece and black patent-leather lace-ups provided the finishing touches.

James Marsden In Calvin Klein - Art of Elysium Heaven GalaWe’ve already seen a crush of glamorized girls at The Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala, but leave it to James Marsden to stand out among the sea of starlets, who were all holding court at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (January 11).

The hot-to-trot, ‘Lee Daniels’ The Butler’ actor took a completely classic route in his Calvin Klein black tux, worn with a white dress shirt and black satin bow tie.

The finishing touch here was his royal-purple pocket square with white polka dots—and those piercing, blue-grey eyes, which may forever be his best accessory.
