Jada Pinkett Smith In Ashish – ‘Gotham’ Finale Screening Event

Jada Pinkett Smith In Ashish - 'Gotham' Finale Screening Event

Jada Pinkett Smith attended the ‘Gotham’ finale screening event presented by Fox at the Landmark Theatre on Tuesday (April 28) in Los Angeles, California.

If Elie Saab is the bling king, then Ashish is the prince as the Delhi-born London-based designer loves to transform classic silhouettes with copious amounts of sequins, crystals and high-shine.

Jada’s gingham-patterned sequin mini skirt looks ready to hit the nearest dancefloor, however, she tamed the piece with a classic white shirt, blue Saint Laurent platform pumps and a grey Edie Parker clutch.

Ankles up, she’s rocking the look.

Jada Pinkett Smith In Versace – BET’s ‘Black Girls Rock!

Jada Pinkett Smith In Versace - BET's 'Black Girls Rock!

Jada Pinkett Smith attended BET’s ‘Black Girls Rock!’ event at NJ Performing Arts Center on Saturday (March 28) in Newark, New Jersey, where husband Will Smith presented her with the Star Power award.

Apparently the actress read the same style memo as Michelle Obama, as she was also dressed to perfection in a little white number, hers a Versace Spring 2015 design.

The structured, strapless dress likewise featured corset shaping for sultriness, along with a sheer, embellished hem for added allure.

While the silver Jimmy Choo ‘Cameo’ clutch made total sense, the metallic Christian Louboutin platform shoes were an inch too over the top. A more classic metallic sandal would have kept the sophisticated sexiness of the look going strong.

Jada Pinkett Smith In Azzaro Couture – ‘Focus’ LA Premiere

Jada Pinkett Smith In Azzaro Couture - 'Focus' LA Premiere

Jada Pinkett Smith attended the LA premiere of ‘Focus’ held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday (February 24) in Hollywood, California.

The actress wore an Azzaro white strapless jumpsuit from the Fall 2014 Couture collection.

Marvelling at the tailoring, the construction on the bodice, the delicate embellishments and the flowing train giving the jumpsuit a new dimension, this was a lucky shot.

I some of the other pictures, couldn’t help but focus on is how sloppy the look feels with the trousers puddling on the floor.

Lorraine Schwartz pink-gold, opal and diamond side-drop earrings and a dual-colour clutch rounded out what could’ve been an amazing look.

Jada Pinkett Smith In Proenza Schouler - Gotham Panel At PaleyFest NY

Jada Pinkett Smith attended the Gotham Panel At PaleyFest NY on Saturday (October 18) in New York City.

The actress wore a Proenza Schouler suede shift dress in an autumnal dark-green hue which was quite plain, but as Jada doesn’t often do plain she amped up the look with maroon Alaïa fringed suede sandals.

A green Bottega Veneta clutch and a side-swept fishtail braided ponytail completed her simple look with a twist.

Jada Pinkett Smith In Blumarine – ‘Gotham’ New York Premiere

Jada Pinkett Smith In Blumarine - 'Gotham' New York Premiere

Jada Pinkett Smith attended the ‘Gotham’ series premiere held at The New York Public Library on Monday (September 15) in New York City.

Usually a fan of Jada’s style, I have noticed that things have been slipping of late and this latest offering confirms my fears.

Her black Blumarine Fall 2014 dress with a tulip-shaped skirt and gold lapel detailing is a tad dated to say the very least. A throwback to the 80s one might call it, especially with those Joan-Collins-style shoulder pads.

Her Lorraine Schwartz jewels, black sandals and Edie Parker clutch fade into the background of this disappointing look.

Michael Kors Spring 2015 Front Row

Michael Kors Spring 2015 Front Row

The front row of the Michael Kors Spring 2015 presentation on Tuesday (September 10) at Spring Studios, held during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, featured a bevy of the designer’s darlings who dressed in their Michael Kors best for the show.

Jessica Chastain: Donning a black and oleander printed frock and black ‘Doris’ sandals, both from the Michael Kors Resort 2015 collection, the actress worked this sweet and charming look to perfection.

Cody Horn: The model-actress complemented the sporty-chic appeal of the white embellished t-shirt dress with peanut ‘Janet’ platform sandals, both from the Michael Kors Resort 2015 collection. A messy updo along with a silver embellished ‘Elsie’ clutch from the MICHAEL Michael Kors Holiday 2014 collection completed the ensemble. I don’t love the colour of the shoes with this look, but from the ankles up, it works.

Jada Pinkett Smith for The Edit

Jada Pinkett Smith, who is playing a bad-girl villain in the upcoming ‘Gotham’, is the latest cover star for Net-A-Porter’s ‘The Edit’.

The 42 year old – yes, 42 – looks fierce, fabulous and fearless on the cover, donning a super-sleek long-sleeved LBD by The Row, and inside she continues to be a knockout in luxury labels like Saint Laurent, Victoria Beckham and Narciso Rodriguez, which gets me excited about her promo tour. She tends to wear colour, but when promoting this darker character, will she opt for muted tones?

In her interview, Jada opens up about her marriage to Will Smith, her kids, and more.

You can read some extracts below or read Jada’s full interview over at ‘The Edit’, where you can also shop the editorial.

On how she stays in shape: “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that it’s about being physical every day. You don’t have to go to the gym if that’s not your thing. You can go outside your door and walk around your block… I feel like as I’ve gotten older, I look better than ever and I work out less. I’m never in the gym for [more than] 45 minutes.”

On femininity: “It’s really tough. I feel like the connection to the value of women on a bigger scale has decreased tremendously. Even though you look and go, ‘Women have so many opportunities,’ it’s like, ‘Yeah, but at what cost?’ Are women valued for being women, or are women valued when they have more masculine qualities? Men and women encompass both female and masculine energies, but it seems like when the feminine is present, it’s not respected.”

On her marriage:
“We used to have all these rules [but] as you go on in your relationship, you just get into a flow. The thing I love is being in a place where it’s just like, Will, to me encompasses everything. It’s almost as if calling him ‘my husband’ is too small of a word for what he means in my life – and especially how I feel we, as women, identify the idea of a husband. I really had to mature and expand that. I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man oh man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that’s what it’s evolved into. And I’m just ecstatic about it.
