Margot Robbie In Prada – 2014 Met Gala

Margot robbie in prada met gala 2014

Margot Robbie was at the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ star wore a Prada custom designed powder blue silk organza tee-length dress. The transparent top, which overlays a satin bralette, featured a high ruffle neckline and geometric mirror embroidery. The skirt is enriched with large black plexi plates.

She complemented the look with grey satin ankle strap pumps and a black satin clutch with a jeweled closure, all by Prada.

Robbie styled her brunette hair in a sleek updo and as always, her makeup was flawless.

Now, obviously she took a fashion risk. And I will say that if you’re going to take a fashion risk, you take it with Prada. But no, I just can’t get myself to make sense of that dress. Sorry!

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture – 2014 Met Gala

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture - 2014 Met Gala

Marion Cotillard is stunning on the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The gorgeous actress wore Dior Spring 2014 Couture with Dior Couture shoes.

The intricate navy dress fits Marion flawlessly. The low cut is balanced out with a lovely full tea length skirt, drawing attention to her quirky shoe choice. I am not crazy about these, but for a style innovator like Marion, she pulls them off.

This elegantly simple look is tied together with a glossy red lip and a sideswept updo.

Marion is such a class act and never settles for simple on the red carpet, which I admire about her. Although she looks lovely, I would’ve been more excited to see her in something dramatic and memorable. This would’ve been better off at a movie premiere and not at this event. What do you think?

Anna Kendrick In J. Mendel – 2014 Met Gala

Anna Kendrick In J Mendel - 2014 Met Gala

Anna Kendrick looks sophisticated on the red carpet of the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The actress paired her sleek J. Mendel gown with a stunning Graff diamond necklace, earrings and ring, Rauwolf clutch and Brian Atwood shoes.

Anna was the epitome of elegance in the classic monochrome dress. A little extra edge was added with cutouts at the front and back.

She truly stuck to the gala’s theme with this entire look, topping it off with a graceful updo, cat eye and rosy pink lip.

This update on Old Hollywood works perfectly for the event. Although simple, Anna definitely hit all the right notes. Would you say the same?

Naomi Watts In Givenchy Couture – 2014 Met Gala

Naomi Watts strutted down the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Departing from her usual old Hollywood glamour, the ‘Diana’ star surprised us with a Givenchy Couture sheer gown. The intricate embroidery fading from white to black in the front, the open back, and the sheer black skirt make this look even more unique.

Adding to the sophistication, Namoi wore beaded earrings with her hair pulled back and natural fresh-face makeup.

While this was the right occasion to take her love for fashion to the next step, I kind of missed the old-school elegance mixed with modern chic, she usually gives us.

Also, is anyone else having a ‘Black Swan’ déjà vu or is it just me?

Rihanna In Stella McCartney – 2014 Met Gala

Rihanna In Stella McCartney - 2014 Met Gala

Rihanna was a vision in white at the 2014 Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 5).

The Barbadian beauty turned the angelic colour on its head in this custom Stella McCartney skin-is-in creation.

The pointedly revealing, backless cropped top with bold shoulders was the strong-edged and sexy counterpart to the more gracious glam of the exquisitely draped long skirt and train.

She iced the look with a frosty pink lip and a diamond choker necklace, then extended the sparkle to hair jewels that barely contained her wild, slightly frizzed locks that were piled atop her head.

Kirsten Dunst In Rodarte – 2014 Met Gala

Kirsten Dunst made a definite statement on the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Ever since these Star Wars-themed gowns made their way down the runway at fashion week, everyone has wondered if and when they would show up again, and now we have our answer.

Kirsten rocked the Death Star-printed gown from Rodarte’s Fall 2014 collection.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who find this ridiculous, but I absolutely love that Kirsten went with this dress. It’s mirthful, has a gorgeous silhouette, and if there’s anywhere you can make it work, it’s at the Met Gala!

A dark smokey eye, red lips and deeply side-parted updo complete Kristen’s look.

So, what do you think? Totally fun, or totally wrong?

Olivia Munn In Diane von Furstenberg – 2014 Met Gala

Olivia Munn In Diane von Furstenberg - 2014 Met Gala

Olivia Munn brightens up the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The actress wore a yellow long-sleeve gown by Diane Von Furstenberg with Fred Leighton Jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Yellow is certainly not an easy color to pull off, but I do think Olivia wears it well with her dark cascading curls and coral lip.

However, the extremely low cut of the dress feels a little too daring for an event of this nature, taking away from Olivia’s radiant beauty. Nonetheless, I do appreciate her fashion risk with this daring shape and color. How do you feel about it?

Chloe Sevigny In Kenzo – 2014 Met Gala

Chloe Sevigny In Kenzo - 2014 Met Gala

Chloe Sevigny offered a pop of color on the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The fashion risk-taker wore a striking Kenzo gown accented with a funky chartreuse clutch.

Her gown is both striking and fun, and is actually almost ‘safe’ when it comes to Chloe’s usual fashion playbook.

The bright colour and graphic lines are totally eye-catching, and I just so wish that her hair wasn’t so completely blah.

Chloe stayed within her comfort zone of very minimalist makeup, and the slight punch of orangey-red lipstick is a great finishing touch.
