It’s a upsetting trend but some stars are skipping the red carpet for some events.

Jessica Alba was one of those stars who we only saw on stage at this event.

I guess she skipped the red carpet because she was presenting the award for ‘Most Anticipated Fantasy Movie’ to actor Johnny Depp.

A girl’s got to get ready for that moment.

Jessica looked beautiful wearing a Lanvin black floral metallic lame ¾ sleeve dress with draped detailing on the shoulder.

From head-to-toe this is the best I have seen her in a long while.

Despite being the new face of Armani underwear Megan Fox seems to love Martin Grant.

This is the second time she has worn a dress from the Paris based Australian designer.

Her red haltered Martin Grant Spring 2010 dress wraps and drapes around her toned body, as she sports a classic updo.

Anna Paquin walked on stage to accept her award for ‘Best Horror Actress’ wearing the same Marc Jacobs duchesse satin zip-embellished dress which Anne Hathaway wore to the Costume Institute Gala earlier this year.

Kate Bosworth opted for a sexy nude Alexander Wang Spring 2010 bandage dress, which she paired with leopard print heels.

Isabel Lucas is wearing a very detailed black and gold embroidered Chanel Resort 2010 mini dress, but with her newly lighten locks I just can’t help but be dumbstruck by her eyebrows.

Had I not read that this was Jamie King, I would never have recognised her.

The hair, dress and make-up are not what we would normally expect to see from Jamie who usually fades into the background.

She was front and center at this event wearing a nude Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 tiered asymmetric mini dress, which has been modified from the runway.

Love the dress, and the heavier make-up is different, but the hair is a big no-no.

Christina Ricci is always totally captivating on the red carpet, no matter what she wears.

Even her hair is quite fascinating as she changes again from light brunette to this raven colour.

She showed-off her legs wearing a Jasmine di Milo Fall 2009 dress with cut-out detailing on the yoke, paired with YSL Trib Two patent platform heels.

Olivia Munn showed off her tanned pins wearing a blue French Connection long sleeved fitted dress.

I love how this colour pops.

Victoria Justice looks like she has grown a few inches.

The Zoey 101 star was totally decked out head-to-toe in Rock & Republic.

Her look cute included wearing a Rock & Republic’s “Patricia” v-neck mini dress with leather and sheer chiffon trim paired with Rock & Republic’s “Brooklyn” military-inspired leather jacket in deep purple, and “Leena” peep toe ankle booties and “Newport” clutch in black.

Isabel Lucas was in the front row on a Fashion Week which has seen very few celebrities in the front row.

This week has been all about the clothes and those fabulous women who keep the fashion houses alive - the Couture clients.

The “Transformer” star looked beautiful wearing Chanel Spring 2009 sleeveless white dress with floral accents and a black bow tied to her waist.

Black peep-toes complete the look.

I love the dress, but not that hair nor the make-up.

Lola Karimova the representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to UNESCO, is a diplomat, well known for her charity activities and activities to promote culture and sports.

It looks like she’s doing her bit to promote fashion here as she looks outstanding wearing stunning Chanel Spring 2009 Couture white suit with a black trims.

I always thought this look was a cropped jacket and a skirt, but Lola’s open jacket reveals that she’s wearing a low cut dress.

Lola is head-to-toe perfection with cute black and white peep-toes.

She’s one of my favourites this week and will definitely be on the Best Dressed List.

Now this is what you call a fashionable family.

With their Chanel matching purses, Danielle Steel attended this show with her her beautiful daughters Victoria Traina and model Vanessa Traina.

Victoria and Vanessa both wore black. Victoria opted for a black blazer with a harem pants and black sandals, whilst her considerably taller sister Vanessa opted for a Givenchy Spring 2009 cut-out dress.

Ms Steel was not to be outdone by her two daughters. She looked divine wearing a white Balmain tweed jacket with a with crystal bow paired with black silk pants and black patent Gucci heels.

Out of the 3 I love Ms Steels look the most. Who would believe she is 61 years young.

Zhou Xun posed with Uncle Karl wearing a black sleeveless dress with ruffled skirt.

Her only pop of colour came from her red belt, lips and bangles.

Gianna Jun appeared to be in awe of Uncle Karl like we all would be.

She still look beautiful in her all black look. I loved her black dress but I wish we had a more front on picture to appreciate the details.

I’m glad the see  the front row make up for the shock of the actual collection.

“Public Enemies” London Premiere

Marion Cotillard looked stunning as the walked the red carpet in London tonight.

She’s back to that consistent form we saw during 2008 awards season and I love it.

Marion usually gives us Parisian chic, but on this occasion she gave us a flirty look wearing a racy red satin strapless Vivienne Westwood bustier pocketed dress.

Her hair was elegant coiffed into a beautiful quiff style, whilst a black Stella McCartney Fall 2009 embossed faux leather clutch and black peep-toes completed the look.

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Screening & Party, Miami

Isabel Lucas sported yet another headband for this screening. It’s very much becoming her signature look.

The Australian actress looks gorgeous is a lilac RM by Roland Mouret Zonda TTD mini sleeveless dress with a gathered detail on the front.

Black pumps complete the look which are a bit unimaginative, but the dress is so gorgeous I can almost overlook that.

Stephanie Pratt is really stepping up in the style department.  I guess those MTV cheques have finally cleared.

The Hills star wore a cute floaty French Connection blue and red dot dress with red peep-toes.

The one-shouldered mini dress has a sweetheart neckline and tiered frilly skirt.

Like her last time out it’s a case of great dress, shame about the bronzer.

22nd Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards, LA

Before the BET Awards Alicia Keys attended this event wearing a BCBG Max Azria watercolour strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a flowing layered skirt.

Matching blue make-up, a silver necklace and matching clutch complete this stunning look.

36th Annual Vision Awards, LA

Ashley Greene opted for a very sophisticated look wearing a black and white ruched D&G dress with cute black pumps with a ruffled detail on the back of the heel.

She manages to look very mature, but not old nor old fashioned.

I love the glossy lips and the equally glossy hair.

Raise Hope For The Congo Event, LA

AnnaLynne McCord looked gorgeous in yet another impressive LBD by Eva Culture. She sure knows how to wow us on the red carpet.

I really adore her silver Rene Caovilla heels, such refreshing change from black and Christian Louboutin.

Opening of Harrods Summer Sale, London

Mischa Barton looks like she partied very hard the night before this event, because no matter how much eye make-up she plastered on I can still see the tell-tale signs.

Her look is what we’ve come to expect from her casual laid back style.

She wore a white shift dress with an embellished neckline plus a tan cross-body bag for that boho touch for which Mischa is best known.

Zooey Deschanel’s style can usually be described as quirky, but on this occasion she opted for a very grown up look.

She was definitely the belle of the ball wearing a Naeem Khan Resort 2010 navy dress embellished with silver details on the skirt.

Zooey wouldn’t be Zooey without wearing something unexpected, so she added baby blue Louboutin pumps to spice up her look.

I love the beehive and everything else about her look, but her shoulders were hunched in nearly every photo.

Big sis Emily Deschanel was there to support her young sister, opting for an even more grown up look, but she didn’t look dowdy.

Emily looked gorgeous wearing a sexy Tadashi Shoji Fall 2009 LBD with voluminous sleeves. Black heels and gold bracelets completed the look whilst she wore her hair pulled back.

Minka Kelly is like a refreshing breeze on a hot sunny day as she walks the red carpet in a blue floaty Christian Dior Spring 2009 chiffon dress which is covered in orange polka dots.

Her look is complete with the same white heels from the runway, but opts out of wearing the studded white belt.

Isabel Lucas took a break from promoting her “Transformers” movie to attend this premiere.

The Australian actress wore a gorgeous - despite her hair - wearing an eggplant Giambattista Valli ensemble including a luscious velvet sleeveless top and a tight fitting ruched skirt.

A silver VBH clutch and silver heels complete her look.

Even though her part in the “Transformers” movie is very small, Isabel has already caught the eye of Uncle Karl, as it has been reported that she will be a special guest at Chanel’s Haute Couture Fall 2009 show in Paris next month.

Lynn Collins was one of my favourite red carpet newcomers, but it appears that since she is no longer promoting her “Wolverine” movie her style has taken a bit of a nose-dive.

I’m all for a grungy rock chic look, but this just looks sloppy to me even with the sequined biker jacket.

I LOVE Christina Hendricks. Everything about her is admirable, but I’m getting hot flushes looking at her in her plunging black gown.  It’s like 100 degrees outside.

Even though I’m not a fan of Shenae Grimes’ floral print wrap dress, she does inject some much needed colour to this red carpet.

This look feel more like shopping for groceries than a red carpet premiere.

Rachel Boston opted for an ethereal white chiffon Jenny Packham gown. Which may seem much for the occasion, but she looks radiant.

June 23rd, 2009

After her Donna Karan gown, I thought that Megan Fox couldn’t out do herself, then she arrived on the red carpet last night looking better then ever.

Her white jersey Kaufman Franco gown is incredibly sophisticated and sexy, something Megan has struggled to find in equal balance since her Donna Karan gown.

For me this is her best look yet.

For once I don’t feel like she is trying to hard. She’s not even over pouting. If you have seen the movie you know what I’m talking about.

Definitely a Best Dressed Of The Week candidate.

Isabel Lucas opted for a cute chiffon lemon cocktail vintage Chanel Haute Couture dress covered in silver embellishments.

Her silver accessories complemented her dress including Lanvin pointy pumps and a Fendi clutch, and her 3 tone hair was styled with loose waves.

Kristin Cavallari was my second favourite at this event wearing a fuschia pink Zac Posen asymmetrical dress which I had on my favourites last week.

What I love about this dress, with its one capped sleeve and one strapped sleeve, is the structure along with the vivid colour.

I’m glad she pulled her hair back so we could see the asymmetrical neckline.

Her look was paired with nude Dolce Vita Cajun gladiator sandals and a black clutch.

Taylor Momsen seems to have grown out of her Debbie Harry phase, as she not wearing the extreme heavy make-up and leathers.

Instead she opted for a slightly softer look wearing an ivory bustier Dolce & Gabbana dress with black lace-up sandals, finishing her look with smoky eyes and a Crucifix necklace.

She’s young and still experimenting so I’m sure we will be introduced to many more looks from Taylor.

We’re more used to seeing Aubrey O’Day half naked or spilling out of her clothes so this is a great look for her.

She also picked a bright summery colour wearing a cobalt blue Temperley London Eclipse Glade dress, with silver Louboutin sandals with complemented the gem-embellished detail on her shoulder.

For once she’s impressed me but I don’t expect this kind of look from her again.

Ciara on the other hand didn’t impress me.

What a lazy boring attempt.

Tie-dye jeans are becoming a bit stale and the visible bra is my number 2 pet-peeve after tights.

My number 3 pet-peeve is two tone or more hair. Ciara was just not out to impress last night.

Just as I suspected Kim Kardashian had just pinned up her luscious locks for the MuchMusic Awards and hadn’t cut it thankfully.

The reality star arrived on the red carpet wearing a sleeveless tuxedo dress which had a deep plunge.

Stella McCartney heels completed the look and her make-up was much better.

“L.A. Candy” Book Signing, LA

Returning to her natural roots Lauren Conrad signed copies of her book “L.A. Candy” By Lauren Conrad for fans at the Grove yesterday.

Sporting a familiar hairstyle the former ‘Hills’ star wore a satin black mini-skirt, black Louboutin’s and a tie dyed batwing sleeved blouse.

It is me or does Lauren seem sincerely happy?  I guess not having to film the Hills is a welcome relief for her.

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Premiere, Sydney

Isabel Lucas split from her co-stars to promote “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen” in Australia this week.

Whilst Megan Fox was dazzling the crowd in a bright fuschia pink Armani Privé dress, the Australian actress opted for a black embroidered Marchesa Fall 2009 jumpsuit.

Eh??? Jumpsuit I hear you say. Surprisingly this is a jumpsuit or a playsuit as I like to call the short versions.

On Isabel it’s hard to appreciate the embroidered detail because her playsuit has a black lining the runway version doesn’t have.

Tights, Jimmy Choo Tahiti glitter peep-toe pumps and a black headband completed the look.

Headbands will never been the same after Paris Hilton overused them during Cannes Film Festival.

‘Coco Avant Chanel’ Australian Premiere

Lara Bingle opted for one piece from the Chanel Fall 2009 collection to attend this premiere.

Her black bouclé jacket had white and black ruffled cuff detail, but thankfully not the white collar.

I don’t think the collar would have worked with her casual look of jeans and YSL ankle boots.

Carol’s Daughter Hand And Foot Spa, New York

Rihanna attended this opening wearing a very smart ensemble.

She teamed a sexy figure hugging slate grey A.L.C Twisty dress with a tailored Preen Hawk wool blazer and cute polka dot peep-toe heels.

It’s such a shame her wild hair is such a distraction from all that’s good about this look.

“Late Show With David Letterman”, New York

Jada Pinkett-Smith looked outstanding wearing a figure-hugging khaki Dolce & Gabbana strapless bustier dress with metallic skyscraper heels.

Jada’s body looks amazing and this dress full appreciates her stunning figure.

It looks like she has eased up on the weights which I’m very thankful for.

Celebration Dinner Honoring 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival Keyote Films, LA

Here’s another Dolce & Gabbana dress, this time it black and worn by Scarlett Johansson.

I love the ruched detail which runs down the front of her fitted dress and the cute puffy shoulders.

Gold satin peep toe pumps complete the look.

Hopefully we’ll see her wearing more colourful dresses in the future.

“Bruno” Paris Premiere

For some reason Isla Fisher’s reminds me of a mermaid in her strapless sea-green embellished Julien McDonald dress.

I think this is one of her worst ever red carpet looks.

The dress is looks like something you could pick up in a market plus her hair and make-up are just awful. Hugely disappointed in her.

June 8th, 2009

I was expecting something a bit edgy for Megan Fox’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” red carpet appearances, but instead she gave us uber glam.

I’m am in love with her regal satin purple Donna Karan gown, which drapes off her shoulder, and reveals her toned tanned legs.

I had high hopes for Megan, and she started off really well.  I just hope she can keep it up.

Her look was complete with a pair of Stuart Weitzman “Frontpage” platform pumps, and gold bangles.

Her long dark hair was styled in loose waves, she’s less orange than she appeared at the MTV Movie Awards, and her make-up is flawless.  I love the pink lips.

Megan was joined by co-stars Shia LaBeouf, Isabel Lucas, Josh Duhamel, Ramon Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson.

Isabel looked equally gorgeous, wearing a dove grey Christian Dior dress, with Jimmy Choo Poem satin sandals.

What a difference hair, make-up and a sexy dress can do.

On Saturday, Megan made her way through LAX Airport wearing a comfortable ensemble for her long haul flight, whilst wearing Ray bans, and carrying a studded Thomas Wylde Reservation Bag. It features a flat shoulder strap with braided leather detailing, and oversized buckle attachments on each end.
