Best Dressed Of The Week – Dita von Teese In Tadashi Shoji & Iman In Zac Posen

Dita von Teese’s risqué Tadashi Shoji gown was the clear winner for best dressed this week.

The burlesque star added her signature red lipstick, 1940’s Marcel waves and diamond drop earrings to complete her sultry look..

In the wrong hands this gown could’ve headed down to Tackyville, USA, but Dita oozes elegance and sophistication every time she hits the red carpet and this was no exception.

You will not be surprised that Iman was my favourite this week.

The maths was quite simple.

One of my favourite diva’s + a Zac Posen Spring 2012 gown = red carpet perfection.

Iman In Zac Posen – 2011 Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Opening Night Gala Performance

Iman on the red carpet is always a special moment, but it was made that much more special at the 2011 Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Opening Night Gala performance in New York City last night.

That’s because the uber model was wearing the first look from the Zac Posen Spring 2012 collection.

As you know, this was my favourite Spring 2012 show, so to see a glamazon like Iman don the first look is truly a ‘we are not worthy’ moment for me.

I was patiently waiting for award season, so it feels like Christmas has come early.

With her hair swept up in retro marcel waves, Iman looked sensational wearing a burgundy silk-faille pleated gown which is doing so many amazingly great things to her impossibly spectacular body.

I could’ve lived without the necklace, but I do love her matchy clutch.

Iman continues to outdo herself and defy her years. I will always be in total awe of this woman.

Iman In Rachel Zoe – Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards

Iman was honoured at the ‘Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards’ which took place in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

The supermodel never looks anything but perfect, and this was a very typical flawless red carpet appearance.

She wore a Rachel Zoe Resort 2012 dress, which is our first look at this collection on the red carpet.

The chic nude chiffon dress with a neck-tie was made sexy with a thigh-high split which Iman doesn’t overplay.

Gold Christian Louboutin slingbacks, chocolate brown Rachel Zoe Spring 2012 sequin jacket over her shoulders and a selection of Fred Leighton’s vintage gold and gemstone bracelets perfected her look.

I can imagine that Rachel went ‘ba-nanas’ when she saw the supermodel in her dress.

Iman In Prabal Gurung – Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner

Iman attended the Gordon Parks Foundation awards dinner and auction at Gotham Hall in New York City last night.

The supermodel looked stunning wearing a Prabal Gurung Spring 2011 on-trend colour block blue and yellow ensemble.

The colours are perfect for her skin-tone and I love how the top drapes off her shoulder.

I’m dazzled by her beauty, her sensational look, those breath-taking marine blue custom Irene Neuwirth earrings, but her choice of footwear is a huge let down.

With Iman’s walk-in shoe closet, I’m sure she could’ve found a more complementary pair.

Do you find yourself put off by the shoes? Or would you still consider this for BDOTW?

Who Wore Stella McCartney Better? Iman or Gwen Stefani

Supermodel Iman took to the red carpet at the Met Gala earlier this month wearing a gold and bronze sequined Stella McCartney jumpsuit.

The jumpsuit features a deep V-neck, padded shoulders, long sleeves and loose fitting pants.

Iman cinched in the waist with a decorative black and gold belt and accessorized with a mini clutch, platform heels and some stunning costume jewelry.

I like the details of this outfit but sadly I think the impact is lost in the fact that her hair, skin tone and the colour of the jumpsuit are all blending into one another. I think if the jumpsuit had been a different colour this would’ve been more impactful.

Gwen Stefani attended “The Tree of Life” 2011 Cannes Film Festival Premiere wearing the black version which she also opted to cinch in at the waist.

The rest of her accessories included platform heels, a gold clutch and matching bracelet.

I really love Gwen’s hair and makeup. I love the deep side part and wavy curls and I think her makeup is youthful and fun. Her punchy pink pout is pretty and perfectly complements the rest of her look so she wins for me.

Stars In Stella MCartney – 2011 Met Gala

Madonna made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2011 Met Gala last night.

She was one of the many star to opt for a Stella McCartney gown.

The teal gown was embroidered with stars which ran down the back to the bottom of her train.

Sergio Rossi ‘Cachet Vague’ sandals with crystals embellishments completed her look.

Gwyneth Paltrow was the other star who gave me a case of deja vu on the red carpet at the 2011 Met Gala last night.

At first I thought her Stella McCartney nude crystal long sleeve embroidered gown was Michael Kors, plus it reminds me of many looks she has worn before.

Maggie Gyllenhaal blue sequin bias cut Stella McCartney gown is breath-taking. We don’t see her much on the red carpet, but she does provide some wonderful moments.Read More…

Who Wore Jason Wu Better? Shala Monroque or Iman

Jason Wu attended the 7th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards with his stunning guest Shala Monroque last November.

The socialite wore a Jason Wu silk chiffon gown from the designers Spring 2011 collection with a blue trademark turban.

The statuesque beauty was radiant in this fuchsia gown. Gold drop earrings and a mahogany mini bag completed her look.

Speaking of radiant, supermodel Iman wore the same dress last night to the DKMS’ 5th Annual Gala in New York City.

Her pop of colour came via her Irene Neuwirth chrysoprase, turquoise and diamond earrings.

Shala wins of me. I would have given this to Iman had she opted for a contrasting clutch.

I do love it when stars go matchy matchy, but it doesn’t work for me on this occasion.

Shala and Iman’s Jason Wu gown is available to purchase from Net-A-Porter.com.
