Iman In Dolce & Gabbana - 17th Annual Accessories Council ACE Awards

Iman joined Stacy Keibler as another statuesque stunner at the 17th annual Accessories Council ACE Awards, held yesterday at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

The modish model-cum-fashion mogul showed us the sophisticated side of sheer in a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 black, figure-fitting frock.

This was no ordinary LBD, though, with its vampy Victorian lace, dramatic dolman-inspired sleeves and ruched skirt.

Sizable statement earrings, alongside glossy waves and a crimson lip were an added touch of flair. The same cannot be said, however, for those black pumps—a mere afterthought, it seems.

You may remember that Jessica Biel wore this same dress earlier this year.

Estee Lauder 'Modern Muse' Fragrance Launch Party Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the attendees at the Estee Lauder ‘Modern Muse’ Fragrance Launch Party held at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City yesterday evening.

Joan Smalls: The model snagged the first look from the Prabal Gurung Spring 2014 collection, wearing a lavender-and-ivory strapless dress with light embroidery. The only thing I would change about the look is the heavy Casadei pumps.

Hailee Steinfeld: The young actress wore a cute Marc Jacobs Resort 2014 navy floral satin dress with a pleated skirt styled with a navy cardi and brown ankle-strap sandals. Had she opted for better heels and ditched the cardi this would’ve been a more memorable look.

Hilary Rhoda: Like Joan, she also wore a Prabal Gurung look, selecting a sexy one-shoulder ivory frock from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection featuring a sculptural ruffled hem and gold baroque border. Jimmy Choo ‘Besso’ black-and-gold sandals, tousled tresses and a gold clutch completed her look. She was by far the best dressed at this event for me.

2013 Couture Council Fashion Visionary Awards

The 2013 Couture Council Artistry of Fashion Award luncheon, hosted by The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology and honoring Michael Kors, brought out a stylish bunch of Michael Kors-clad event-goers to the David H. Koch Theater at New York City’s Lincoln Center on Wednesday.

Hilary Swank: The actress stood out in a flashy, aqua leopard-print fit-and-flare dress and black python sandals, both from the Michael Kors Resort 2014 collection. A black elongated, reptilian-like clutch from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection completed the animal instinct.

Michael Kors: Surrounded by some of his leading fashion ladies, the designer was casual-cool in a basic, all-black look, with a blazer, T-shirt and trousers. His signature shades were present and accounted for, naturally.

Anna Wintour: The ‘Vogue’ editrix kept up chic appearances and paid homage to the guest of honor in a custom Michael Kors micro-print frock, styled with sunnies and her favourite Manolo Blahnik sandals.

4th Annual amfAR Inspiration Gala New York Red Carpet Round Up

Here are the rest of the attendees who took to the red carpet at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on Thursday evening for the 4th Annual amfAR Inspiration Gala New York.

Nora Zehetner: The pretty actress wore a black-hemmed ivory Calvin Klein Spring 2013 cold-shoulder mini dress, which she styled with black sandals and a gold clutch, adding a red lip colour which matched her pedicure.

Izabel Goulart: Usually one to opt for a jaw-dropping gown, the model switched things up on this occasion, donning a sharply tailored Alberta Ferretti suit sans blouse. She styled her look with a gold necklace, black pointy peep-toes and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Iman: The uber model opted for a bright-orange Valentino gown which I can’t say I’m too fond of. I don’t like the asymmetrical neckline, the brooch detail or the spillage on the skirt.

Dita von Teese’s risqué Tadashi Shoji gown was the clear winner for best dressed this week.

The burlesque star added her signature red lipstick, 1940’s Marcel waves and diamond drop earrings to complete her sultry look..

In the wrong hands this gown could’ve headed down to Tackyville, USA, but Dita oozes elegance and sophistication every time she hits the red carpet and this was no exception.

You will not be surprised that Iman was my favourite this week.

The maths was quite simple.

One of my favourite diva’s + a Zac Posen Spring 2012 gown = red carpet perfection.
