Front Row @ NYFW Spring 2014

Front Row @ NYFW

The fashionably eclectic front-row styles continue, as New York Fashion Week marches on, with starlets showing up at every turn in their designer best.

Jessica Alba @ Narciso Rodriguez: At Tuesday’s Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2014 fashion presentation at Sir Stage37 in New York City, the actress simply stunned in a Fall 2013 dress from the designer, accessorized with a Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch, wrist cuffs and Rona Pfeiffer square pave stud earrings. I love the sharp, graphic contrast that the black and white styling brings to this look, countered by Jessica’s sleek, straight locks. Even the white pumps couldn’t have been more appropriate.

Rita Ora @ Pyer Moss: The British songstress cropped up at the Pyer Moss Spring 2014 fashion show donning a Sally LaPointe Spring 2014 eggshell lambskin top and skirt, matched with metallic-gold Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps. The asymmetric, one-sleeve detail of the top and the wrapped skirt, not to mention those retro round shades, kept yet another midriff moment fresh and cool.

Iggy Azalea @ Naeem Khan: The rapper attended the Naaem Khan Spring 2014 show on Tuesday at The Theatre at Lincoln Center, where she flaunted the designer’s Resort 2014 black-and-gold wool crepe sheath dress that featured gold baroque beading. Simple pale-pink makeup tones and a platinum topknot juxtaposed the more elaborate vibe of the frock, which ultimately needed a boost that didn’t come with those black pumps.

#DKNY25 Birthday Bash

DKNY25-Birthday-Bash2

Haute—and just plain hot—topics abounded at the lively #DKNY Birthday Bash on Monday, where fashionable femmes descended on 23 Wall Street in New York City. Skin was in, and so was sultry appeal, as PYTs flashed their DKNY best—and posed with designer Donna Karan and her iconic taxicab cake.

Emmy Rossum: Sizzling in gold, the actress illuminated the scene with a Midas touch like no other. With the glint of a metallic clutch, black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps and a slicked-back ’do, Emmy was dripping in glamour.

Rita Ora: With her cool edge firmly in place, the songstress set off her paisley-print playsuit with a white jersey blazer, emblazoned with the number ‘25’ on the back. An embellished baseball hat capped off the sporty effect, whilst studded black Christian Louboutin ‘Artifice’ heels put the vamp in this game-changing outfit. Rita’s short platinum crop, along with lavender eye shadow and a cherry-red lip, added even more dynamic impact.

Hailee Steinfeld: The young starlet took a safer approach in a white, grey and black colour-block T-shirt and flared organza skirt. Her long wavy locks, smokey-rust eye makeup and black clunky shoes all registered as a bit lacklustre, when she could have had so much more fun.

Iggy Azalea In Calvin Klein – Roc Nation VMAs After-Party

Iggy Azalea In Calvin Klein - Roc Nation VMAs After-Party

Iggy Azalea headed to the Roc Nation party at the Dream Downtown Hotel in New York City, which was also attended by Beyonce Knowles, Rita Ora and Rihanna, following the VMAs on Sunday.

The Australian singer wore a forest-green Calvin Klein Fall 2013 look which included a wool bandeau and pleated pants accented with a leather military roller belt.

This is further proof that the crop top trend is going to keep on rolling well into the autumn.

I love the I love the juxtaposition of feminine and masculine working in perfect harmony here.

Her sassy look was given an edge with a slick wet-look ‘do and, like many of the ladies who attended this event, Iggy worked a bright-red lip colour.

Maybe we should call this colour ‘Roc Nation red’.

Iggy Azalea In Emilio Pucci – 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Iggy Azalea In Emilio Pucci - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Iggy Azalea left little to the imagination at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The provocative Australian rapper, who is nominated in the Artist to Watch category, certainly gave us an eyeful on the red carpet. She clad her curves in a sheer nude veiling of gold-leaf embroidery, manifested in a long column dress, from the sultry Emilio Pucci Spring 2013 creation.

Coincidence or not, that her swept back golden-blonde locks nearly matched the gown was the icing on this translucent confection. A cherry-red lip topped the risqué sundae.

A modish Midas touch, or a see-through sartorial sin?
